This is not the real Lata and even the lyrics dont match the original song. Either the singer is different or the record was so much manipulated that lyrics got somewhere else.

Great song...but looks like rearranged. Lata's voice also seems a lot different.

coz of that begining lata is wat lata is today! it is the most difficult n melodious part of the whole song!!! sooooo many sigers have tried to replicate lata in the way she opened the song.......but failed miserabely!!.......still thanks hali!!!!

@honeygodoo9 .. if you listened to the song carefully you would realize that the video is correct but the singer is not Lata Mageshkar if you had only an iota of a brain you would know by the singer's voice and also altered lyrics.

@honeygodoo9 How strongly I agree. None of the versions on Youtube seem to have that very beautiful introduction and withoutit the whole effect of the song is diminished. Please somebody, upload the proper version!!!!!!!!

Especially as there is a sort of symmetry between the songs in Mahal (the Lata songs picturised on Madhubala and the Rajkumari songs picturised on Vijaylakshmi.
