  • Scary Trousers = Scared-y Pants. As in craven.

  • Actually I found some photo of Neil and Alan together and Alan Moore doesn't seem to be all that taller than him.

  • Alan Moore managed to make Neil "master of nightmare fuel" Gaimen almost throw up. damn.. then again its Alan Moore.

  • Great anecdote about the two masters of comics. Thanks for posting.

  • Ah, if I'd been there when he took of his jacket I would have shouted, 'Whoo! Take it all off!'

    He's hot.

  • He does an uncannily good impression of Alan Moore.

  • I still don't see how the trousers bit comes into it.

  • @MorroccoSurrogate That's a good question, I'm guessing "scary trousers"

is British slang for someone who can scare the crap of you,

unless he was joking about Neil's usual black clothing and his sunglasses.

    just guessing here.

  • The way Neil gestured when he explained "...he looms" - I don't know, that just reminded me of how Raven rised back to her feet, only to transform with red-glowing eyes, sharp teeth, growing three times taller, with black tendrils appearing under her long, flowing blue cloak, a menacing smile, followed by a demonic voice speaking along with her, all due to pure anger in the "Teen Titans" animated series.

  • That's why Alan Moore is great. He can make the all mighty neil gaiman turn ghostly white! lol

  • I couldn't hear over the laughing in the video what did Alan Moore say?

  • Well well well Neil "scary trousers" Gaiman Master of Modern Horror.

  • I added that to the video title. It is really hard to hear. :)

  • This story was recounted in "The Sandman Companion" by Hy Bender! It included Alan's version of the story where he describes the madwoman as a dead ringer for Mad Hettie from Sandman. Somebody should hunt that down for YouTube as well if they were lucky enough to have filmed it.

  • For those who have "The Sandman Companion" (and those searching for it), Alan's version of this anecdote is on the bottom of page 60. Enjoy.

  • im the one who caught the shirt he threw. :]

  • That was one of the BEST times I ever had at a panel. He is SUCH an excellent storyteller!

  • Me too! Seriously the BEST panel ever, for sure. Neil is an amazing man. :)

  • He does a pretty good Alan Moore impression, doesn't he? :)

  • He looks very red doesnt he.

  • I think it's probably just the lighting. He doesn't look red on the big screen there.

  • He did get hot under the lights and took his jacket off at one point. Lots of girls screamed and he rolled his eyes, haha. The point being, he didn't look red from where I was sitting or on the screen, but he does look red in this video and perhaps he was.

  • ...does anyone have video with him taking off his jacket? I want to see his eye-rolling! :-D
