In 1991 there was a program in wich the F-16 got A-10's gun in an external pod on the centerline. But proved unaccurate and the recoil caused structural fatigue problems.

@ElementoVolatile That would be hell of a fighter right there. Delivering same ground support as an A-10 Just supersonic aircraft. But understandable that it caused structural fatigue. With that amount of energy the 30mm Gatling gun can delivers.
