I am just now studying Chinese and found these videos to be quite helpful and entertaining. They were filmed over one year ago, so I hope xing xing reappears as I go on to the next lessons. Thanks for the video lessons and thank you xing xing.
UPDATE--- we have two video responses so far--- one from Germany and another one from Belarius...we hope to reach at least 10 and reopen the classes with a special -FREE- online help for the 10 video response ones -in one section of my main website--the passwords will be emailed to you.
I would like 2 c more lessons but lessons where u learn alot more than u did from this lesson. Lao Jin shi Robran de nu peng you hai ta de lao shi. In English it is: Lao Jin is Robran's girlfriend and also his teacher. Sorry i didn't stress the tones, I wanted 2 make it quick. John, can u say 2 Xing Xing "wo3 zhen1 de xiang3 xue2 xi2" ("I really wanna study") in ur next lesson, I think Xing Xing would love 2 hear that. Good Luck.
I met Xing Xing yesterday and got a walk around the park with my dogs and talked about this problem and today -just 5 minutes ago- she called me -amazed- to see a video response from a student from Germany.she publically thanks "Xtrauser" for his video response. Well it looks like I have to study "the family"-again and again-it is so confusing-diff ways to call uncle and aunt-hmmm
John,I like the video and it is very obvious that XingXing genuinely feels somewhat 'pissed' at her naughty student. Who can really blame her? But XingXing, you know those 17 words really are difficult for a westerner to learn. XingXing: So cut John a little slack. John: you need to do a little better - so study! And please continue these lessons. I supplement these with chinese lessons from my china-born girlfriend 'Lao Jin'.
it is part of the original show "John decides to learn Chinese"-"Juan decide aprender español" I can not change that-sorry..these are not simple instructional classes---there are more people teaching Chinese in youtube-do a search and find what you like.Cheers!

Hey Fomiz, I don't think that's the way to say what you feel. I think we have to study and John should study too, however, I have one quote for Xing Xing: "Do it with love or just don't do it", anyway I think John's work is great!
Xing Xing will just have to take me at my word that I am practicing the language and using her videos along with other materials. I am unable to produce a video, sorry. Her hard work and your skills in producing a very entertaiining and educational video product are appreciated. I do hope she will continue. Xing Xing 是一位了不起的老师.
