Hey buddy, thanks for the compliments! To strum I'm using my thumb and index finger. I use the thumb for the bass and my index finger for the strum. The formula is:

Bass, down up...rest...down. The "rest" should be on a down strum and muted making a click sound. Hope that helps. Teaching strumming is kind of difficult. Especially through text. Take care.
