  • Pink Floyd wihtout Waters is as Pink Floyd without Gilmour or any of teh others...just not teh same...these guys made that chemistry work together and it aint never gonna be the same seperated, altough its worth listening to!

  • Sounds like a bad cover band without Gilmour. Thats the reason only 349,000 people listen to this one verus 18,252,295 for the with Gilmour. The guitar just fucked one of the best solos every on top of it. It's simple people come to hear the orignal not some poser guitar player with his version.

  • @aurosne

i find it a very good cover...seriously you think the solo was bad?

  • @DonConstantinos It's not supposed to be a cover this is the guy that created this awesome work of art. But without GIlmours touch it just doesn't have the same vibe. As for the guitar solo, don't get me wrong the guy has chops, he can play. But he doesn't have feelling,(at least it doesn't come through on this solo). Also I respect the fact that he is tryingv to make it is own, but that is a huge mistake. Mozart said it best "How does one change what is perfect?" Gilmour can, this guy can't.

  • @aurosne i agree that gilmour's solo is just perfect but i think in a live performance it is good to make a few changes let's not be so harsh about it :)...and this is not classical music :P

  • Sounds like a bad cover band without Gilmour. Thats the reason only 349,000 people listen to this one verus 18,252,295 for the with Gilmour.

  • Time without dave = nothing.

  • mi dispiace caro Roger ma ma nca L'alchimista alle tastiere,

  • Pink floyd/Roger Waters music is like a guardian angel that stays with me through my whole like. It seems to grow with you somehow.. Like I listen to some music, and it makes me think of a time in the past that is no more, which makes me sad, but Floyd never makes me sad, and there been music from the wall, or WYWH, or Animals I havnt heard in years, and years, but if I listen to them now it still dosnt have that reminising sadness to it. Its like a friend that travels with you your whole life.

  • MA CHE SCHIFO! E CHI E' QUEL CHITARRISTA!?!? VORREBBE EMULARE GILMOUR CON QUELL'ASSOLO PENOSO?? ROGER WATERS E' SOLO UN FALLITO, NON VALE NIENTE DA SOLO! DAREI IL BRACCIO DESTRO PER POTER SENTIRE I VERI PINK FLOYD DAL VIVO! FRA UN MESE STANNO QUESTI TIZI QUA A MILANO...MA PREFERISCO ANDARE AL MARE!!! FOREVER GILMOUR-MASON-WRIGHT! <3

  • @Z0S0986 ma datti all'ippica!...la musica non è il tuo forte, vero?

  • ...Roger, David... well personally IMO, they are BOTH still FLOYD ... but gettin into my own opinion again here, David may be the heart of FLOYD, but Roger is the MIND of FLOYD... and it kinda seems that David got all caught up in the SHOW while Roger tended to stay focused on the MUSIC... I know there will be others that think otherwize, like I said, "MY OPINION here" and "it SEEMS like"... (now don't go bringing up Roger Waters' The WALL tour, that was pretty awesome showmanship ...)

  • @gulwinky I gotta agree. :) People gotta see that they are both Pink Floyd...it was those different attributes that made them the pinnacle team of musicians. It's that precise blend of collaboration that makes Pink Floyd timeless, and "in my opinion" one of the greatest and epic bands ever, both visual and audible. Take one away and ur left with the Yin and no Yang.

    :D

  • Why are everyone arguing who is better Roger or David? They are both great, for very diffrent reasons!

  • Probably the greatest artist in the history of rock music.... Nothing more, nothing less...

  • nuff respect to this guy, but David solo in on another galaxy

  • Lucky enough to have seen Pink Floyd live three times over three decades, and not bragging...only mentioning to say this is some very good shit . I appreciate this very worthy music that is hard to find now days. Can you not appreciate this? Some kids put down one exotic car over another, niether which they can afford nor have ever driven, nor even need to own anyway...(me either) They argue this is better that that, but I challange ANY of you naysayers to PROVE this is not truly epic music.

  • If you want to judge, Doyle Bramhall, get the ARC angels album that he co fronted with Charlie Sexton. Great singing and guitar playing on that album. Or listen to his work with Eric Clapton or Sheryl Crowe. I'm impressed that he did this Roger Waters gig. I think he did a great job conforming to a Pink Floyd sound. He was a great team player and played well with Snowy White. He usually plays more gritty Texas Blues style.

  • @merchey1 i love Doyle , friend of SRV , ARC Angels cool , listen also the Double Trouble - album with Doyle :)

  • How bout you all stop comparing the two and just listening to the music? Both Roger and David are fantastic musicians and songwriters. As to comparing Dave and Doyle, there's no point doing so. Dave was the original so anytime anybody plays it somebody has to compare it to Dave but Doyle does a great job with it. and to add to Doyle, he is a very good guitarist as well. He's toured around the world with both Roger and Eric Clapton. He plays at Eric's Crossroads festival. I'd say he's pretty good

  • Fuck him, that white Lenny Kravitz rapes the solo.

  • After Syd went crazy that is. They pulled Dave off the streets of France. He got lucky by getting into on of the best bands that have ever existed. But Pink Floyd got lucky by getting one of the best guitar players/singers that ever existed. Roger Held the band together After Syd. Roger is the one who thought of the Concept albums. Roger is the one who had the tunes already rough drafted. He kept the band together.. End of story.

  • Sorry but Roger was just a lyricist...lyrics without music is nothing...he's nothing without Gilmour...

  • @samhills2005 sorry but waters wrote pretty much every song on the wall and about half on dsotm among others. in fact he was pink floyds main songwriter after barrett left - that's music and lyrics. go check it out. personally i dont get this whole gilmour is better than waters and vice versa thing. they were both amazing at what they did. they fell out... get over it and listen to the music they've made.

  • @CrazyJoeDavola1991 Well said..

  • Dave was lucky to be in Roger's good graces.. If it weren't for Waters, Pink Floyd I do not think would have existed. And certainly not in the light that we see them today. Gilmour is a great guitar player, but nothing without waters, and vice versa like the man told you. But the only one underlying factor is that Roger Waters wrote all those songs and he had alot of the tunes rough drafts, so don't say gilmour wrote all the music. You would be wrong again.

  • @austin27332 gilmour wrote the guitar rythm and solos so ur technically wrong all Waters did was compose the piano and the sound effects and vocals.

  • this sounds like a cover. lol. roger without gilmour is nothing.

  • wrong.Barret had his own style.Gilmour his own too.No, Gilmour never played Barret riffs he can't.Neither Barret could do Gilmour.Wrong, you don't have to find which is better or more talented. You don't have to decide for everything in this life. There are all together. And true, different Floyd with Barret, different with Gilmour.Yes true, Waters is a genius. And finally, wrong. You may can achieve the Glmour riffs on a guitar, but he first did it.You copy. Cheers.

  • @panatha1308 truth is gilmour does play barretts riffs... he was a stand in for barrett, in 67-68 gilmour stood backstage and played barretts guitr parts because of barretts lsd use. (among other things)

gilmour was hired as a backstage guitarist for syd barrett.

eventually syds drug use was so bad they got rid of him and gilmour took over.

i shuddered for many years playing in cover bands anytime i had to play gilmours sappy wannabe riffs.

they are an insult to any decent guitar player

  • @wolfewispr i know the whole story.Gilmour played the songs back then yes, because it was the only songs Floyd had at this time.So he had to play the Syds guitars.Very reasonable. But what comes next its Gilmours riffs and music, ofcourse in colaboration with the other members of the band and major composer Waters. If you dont like the later stages of the band dont buy the cd dont listen to them.I have a deep respect for ALL of them i m not trying to find the winner.

  • listen to this with head phones. awesome!!!

Gilmour was a stand in guitar player hired in 1967/68 to stand backstage and play Syd Barretts' riffs because of Syds LSD use.

eventually Syd was replaced by Gilmour.

the creativity in pink floyds music was Roger Waters. without waters, Gilmour would have just been another studio musician.

  • roto toms just sound amazing

  • roger water one word great.

  • ....Gilmour is only one !

  • Roger is a brilliant mind, but his feud with Gilmour is one rock music's greatest travesties. It's really sad considering that now Rick Wright is gone and Roger is on an ego trip after all these years.

  • I really prefer the guitar solo performanced by David Gilmour..,...This kid is really good, but still doesn´t have that "feeling" in his sound

  • @vitoque 'The kid' is 42 years old, you plank!

  • well you don't know nothing about Roger's life, songs, lyrics, and about Pink Floyd

  • @andrewpogor Totally agree. This people has no respect for who deserves.

  • david gilmour kick your ass, roger.

thx to destroy the greatest band ever.

and people say that u r a genious, i dont think so.

  • @phtmesquita FUCK YOUUU !!!!

  • @phtmesquita Short and simple your a dick for saying that!

  • A guy I know went to school with Roger's son. He said he was always grabbing his ass.

  • man that dude made david gilmour look like a chump on the guitar

  • @wolfewispr, that's bullshit. Come on, Guilmour is one of the greatest guitar players of all time. This guy is nowhere near.

  • @Rogeras32 gilmour was a stand in.

his guitar playing any guitar god wannabe could do.

greatest guitar player? come on man, he is a half decent guitarist at best.

roger waters is an original member of floyd, he was there when pink floyd was formed. gilmour was not, gilmour wasnt even there when pink floyd had it's first hit. or it's first top ten.

Roger waters was the talent in pink floyd. gilmour is only playing Syd Barretts riffs.

so he's not even playing his own leads.

  • @wolfewispr wrong.Barret had his own style.Gilmour his own too.No, Gilmour never played Barret riffs he can't.Neither Barret could do Gilmour.Wrong, you don't have to find which is better or more talented. You don't have to decide for everything in this life. There are all together. And true, different Floyd with Barret, different with Gilmour.Yes true, Waters is a genius. And finally, wrong. You may can achieve the Glmour riffs on a guitar, but he first did it.You copy. Cheers.

  • @wolfewispr ahh this is funny, yes i agreed with you he doesnt go all fast and shit like some of the metal player or etc. but do you really think it because he cant?? im a guitar player too, and for the time gilmore has been playin guitar what some over 30 years of playin guitar hes got under his betl, it just stupid to think that he cant play anything on the guitar jimi, metalica etc..and one more think gilmore prolly knows more about music and guitar theotries than all your fav guitar players

  • @wolfewispr, how about some proof, fanboy? He wrote some amazing solos and his signature sound is no-brainer to be recognized! And... Yeah, Gilmour wrote that solo too. I know he wasn't the ORIGINAL member of PF, but who cares? "Roger waters was the talent in pink floyd." He was a terrific songwriter and a good bass player. But Gilmour and his band.. they sound more Floyd-ish. Just get over it!

  • i love roger and all but is he even playing?

  • What a shit version of that solo.

  • gilmour is unique... no one can play like him.

  • Does anyone what kind of guitar Doyle is playing on this one?

  • that drummer sure is better than mason.

  • @MattSturg Mason is a shitty drummer!! Graham Broad is a great one!

  • @TheRatPack168 Watch this: watch?v=yfz8mlKn8AI

    Now shut that fuck up!

  • @andrepompeu And the point was...? That Mason manage to play the opening on Time with glowing sticks?

That doesn't make him a good drummer! I can do that!

  • And the point is: you are a retard! The opening of Time Live in Atlanta is better than this shit cover by Roger Waters. And you were not even smart enough to realize that. And about you making the opening of Time, I doubt, even with the glowing sticks shoved up your ass...

  • @andrepompeu You f... moron!! I've played drums for 35 years. The last 20 I've been professional. What's you background to say anything about drumming?

  • Sorry only Gilmour can play a guitar solo

  • 'dis is worth dyin fo

  • I think it is great to have 2 Pink Floyds for our enjoyment! And yes Roger Waters is pure Pink Floyd!

  • doyle did an incredible job on this one!

  • @kanakyman All he did on this show is out of this world!

  • @TheRatPack168 man I watched the other videos and i confirm that he was brilliant throughout the gig!

  • @kabooki09 Thats fucking deep. I wish you well, although I'm just a puppet on a keyboard....

  • no mames nadie toca ese solo como david guilimour

  • The drums at the beginning alone are worth the price of admission.

  • I hate water's guitar player....I totaly hate him....

  • @lukenioo Which One?

  • Roger waters is my favourite Pink Floyd singer

  • This Dark Side of the Moon helped get me over the death of my husband of 8 years, He & I were 27. I went to sleep to this every night for a few months, it touched me then and even more now if that is even possible.

  • @kabooki09 Sorry for your loss, but yea like my first commet was saying Floyd has that comforting energy that gives you strength.

  • kick ass guitar solo... 3:37!!!

  • this stays a time-less excellent song!!

  • It´s quite FLOYD BUT David is god of strings and singing ....

  • @chazzymurphy

damn where do u get ur drugs? lol jk

  • OH...MY...GOD!!!

  • ha 3:42 sounded like Star Spangled Time lol

  • gilmour sings it better and where wright should have been they put that gay guy

  • o man, when they played shine on u crazy diamond for pulse... i dropped my shit

  • lol i dare someone to find a black guy in the crowd

  • @314336

    haha

  • what is the name of the black haired guitarist? he is the only guy ive seen who plays guitar the same weird upside down way that i do.

  • @Petesheeah doyle bramhall II

  • @mcreflect Doyle's wife is the white backup female singer.

  • @Petesheeah Doyle Bramhall jr.

  • Whoever.. this music is HIGH

    -▲=

  • david gilmour is better musician than roger.roger has made good album themes as wall final cut has written good lyrics and has sung well but gilmour is god of guitar.he has the best vocal in pink floyd

  • guitar player ruined solo. not enough soul. david gilmour=soul

  • ptua de uma banda

  • alright the lead guitar player isn't Gilmour but he sure as hell pulls this song off well, and that would be confusing as shit to play guitar the way that dude does with the strings backwards

  • sorry I meant it was "perfect" the way Gilmour played it

  • Great song, but there is no one that sings it better the Gilmour. Waters is a genius, but this is all Gilmour,....and stop with the over guitar playing here...it was peret the way Gilmour played it

  • Great song, but there is no one that sings it better the Gilmour. Waters is a genius, but this is all Gilmour,

  • As much as i love doyle bramhall's guitar playing, no one can play this solo better than Gilmour

  • 3:37 WTF WAS THAT!? THAT WAS AWESOME!!! HOW DID HE DO THAT!?

  • shut up the drummer was amazing, briliant and touched my soul

  • @TanMaries Hell yea... Awsome drummer. Just listen to this, and in the flesh. I mean bad fucking ass.

  • @uh0oo I AGREE COMPLETELY!! HE IS DOING THE WALL PRESENTLY WITH ROGER AS WELL, HE IS REALLY GOOD!!

  • @uh0oo GRAM IS THE MAN HE IS THE ONLEY ONE BESIDE MASON WHO DESRVES TO BE BEHIND THE DRUMS WITH WATERS

  • anyone who criticizes any aspect of this is an absolute douche bag!

  • Fantastic! I was totally mesmerized by this.

  • why do gilmour and watesr need armies of musicians to perform these songs??? Why cant there be 4 people playing instruments and then the backup singers. Instead we get like 30 people playin the guitar on stage.

  • @SeanneryConnery

Hey 007; I see only 2 guys playing the guitar. And Mr. Waters himself on the bass of course. The guy on his left is just a backup for the bass (at least in this video)

  • @SeanneryConnery

I don't think you understand the delicacy needed for such an epic song like this one. This is Pink Floyd we are talking about, perfection in sound and performance is a MUST.

  • 1:38 Holy Shit. That's some strong acid that guy's on.

  • I think roger sounds great singing this song!

  • Comment removed

  • soz but rogers singing here is problematic:P

  • Yo....Its all Floyd...They are all treasures...the sooner you guys understand what this band went through the better you will understand life....These guys went through real life. They grew apart....is that hard to fathom....we are just lucky to have Waters still touring. Its amazing to see him in 2010....r u kidding me....fuck all the bullshit....its all floyd....Waters this and Gilmour that...fuck ya'll.....its the collective not the selective....grow up bitches.

  • He's good, but Gilmour is god and his performances are way much better. Period.

  • @Rogeras32 Your right, but it's not like he was trying to show his better though

  • @seba3663, It comes naturally, you know)

  • I think doyle bramhall is a bit of a tool! lol he is great

  • 3:34 might be even better than Gilmores phrase. Man this guy can play.

  • @marcusdolby1 tell me about it, i very EXTREMELY IMPRESSED with that dude.

  • I can't wait. dec 08. i will see my idol. the genius behind the greatest band of all time.

  • 22 people can PISS OFF.

I was never much of a fan of Waters solo efforts in the 80's but this was pretty damn awesome.

And Roger has a knack of working with great guitarists like Clapton and Beck and here he has Bramhall and Snowy White by his side.

    Great post.

  • anyone know where this was taped at?

  • yup doyles awesome... wish there was more arc angels vids online.

  • The drummer clearly overcooked it here...Mason is much more simpler in the processes and the beats and much more coordinated!

  • @arg0nauta well gram adds to it he kepes to it adds him to it he is proplbly the best drummer aney one has had with them after floyed toures he is one hell of a drummer

  • @3aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa I won't disagree with you on that. He is one hell of a drummer!!! I just think that in this particular case, he overcooked a bit.

  • @arg0nauta lol yeh but shit dood. the drummer had alot to work up to i mean comparing any drummer to mason ur gonna find some flaws lol

  • @arg0nauta Hi, well I think he gave it a different twist. Graham broad is a well known rummer and well rated amongst great artist. It is just maybe this version you dont like. I have seen him do it three times during the DSOTM tours and he was good. Actually not three times twice, Nick Mason showed up @ the hollywood bowl. Other than that great music, and happy to be alive to be able to hear it over and over regardless which version! Good day all!

  • @daveveerman ....I REALLY LOVE THE WAY HE GOES INTO THIS, HE HAS PLAYED WITH FLOYD ONE WAY OR ANOTHER FOR A LONG TIME NOW.

  • @arg0nauta - I disagree!

  • Comment removed

  • 6 more days until i get to see him live!!!

  • Graham Broad is such an amazing drummer. Totally overlooked.

  • That s Doyle Bramhalls if i remember well.

He was part of his band at that time

  • who's the one with the red guitar? part of waters' band?

  • @nice3omar Doyle Bramhall II.. Awesome blues guitarist.. Plays with Eric Clapton. As well as doing his own thing.

  • and when i come home...cold and tired...its good 2 warm my bones beside the fire... :)

  • i like 2 b here when i can.... :)

  • hommmeeeee hommmeeee again...... :)

  • damn, that drummer is pretty awesome as well , wow totally incredible intro with the drums, sounds soooooo sweet, that's y i wish he still had this band cuz we're goin to see roger do the wall next wkend, oh ya he's feelin it at about 3:30 into it, jammin

  • @babyjo21166 izzat Armande Assante drummin' ?

  • @atrios28 no, the drummer's name is Graham Broad, in fact he is still with Roger doing this tour , the wall. he is excellent!! the drum intro into "TIME" sounds so good, i just wanna blare it and turn it up so loud my walls vibrate!!!

  • Comment removed

  • damn, that drummer is pretty awesome as well , wow totally incredible intro with the drums, sounds soooooo sweet, that's y i wish he still had this band cuz we're goin to see roger do the wall next wkend

  • damn, that drummer is pretty awesome as well , wow

  • Gilmour is one of my biggest influences. Doyle Bramhall II is an amazing guitarist though and has earned the respect of many music greats and has played with many as well. The truth is if there was not a video to watch....many, many Floyd fanatics would not even know it was not Gilmour soloing. At least Waters still tours, Gilmour is a lazy old egomaniac who does dot care about his fans enough to go play his music.

  • @netats74 wow, of course i have 2 comment, ive been searchin 3 this Bramhall dude for info on him for a few wks now, i swear to God, when i closed my eyes, it sounded like some1 put on the album.....that "In the flesh tour" was awesome, i didnt think he would b any good and stuck to the very highly entertaining shows with GILMORE, u know, the lazers lights video screen, u name it, i had never seen anything like it, still wish this in the flesh band was STILL with him, any info on this?

  • all of u shut up and enjoy the fucking music .....who cares who's better ! itts all abouth the music man !

  • Waters..? Gilmour..? Whoever.. They are Pink Floyd. We love Pink Floyd. We love Rogers Waters, David Gilmour, Rick Wright, Nick Mason, Syd Barret.

  • @harwit DAMN that dude is awesome

  • @harwit DAMN that dude is awesome, the guy singin gilmores parts and playin it too, wow

  • Itd be a great show to get Waters' band and Gilmour's band together, it'd be a giant Pink Floyd orchestra

  • @harwit actually we dont love syd barret he gets to be this crazy blip on the pink floyd radar he did write good songs but if he stayed in the band theres no way they become as amazing as they r and legendary..theres a reason syd locked himself up for twenty years

  • @bradleyrocks618 I agree with you about Syd. His attitude was not good at all. That is why I wrote his name at last. :)

  • lol Im not trying to argue with you my friend. It's just that this argument goes on everywhere. I think they are both equally as good. I do like Roger Waters. But they were both a huge part of the Pink Floyd sound.

  • wtf horrible solo r u kidding me terrible

  • wtf 2 bassist lol come on roger waters I know you can do it by yourself

  • what, rogers cant play bass and sing? lame!

  • @fishinmagician89

He can he does it all the time. Playing an instrument and singing is a very difficult thing to do.

  • @TheDarkFrontier i know its hard, but he did it in pink floyd. here there is a second bass player to cover for him

  • Comment removed

  • men ... that chick on the right is so hooot ..

  • whats the name of the guy on the keyboards?

  • @esoj37

the name of the man behind the kurzweil synthesizers is John Carin

  • @esoj37 Jon Carin He`s touring The Wall 2010-11 with Harry Waters in keyboards too

  • Une version toute aussi géniale que la version originale.

  • Man when i heard this guy doing the solo! ehhhh its not the same time anymore. but hes ight it was cool but i prefer David Gilmour's solo, and included with his best feeling to the solo!

  • David Gilmour its better that Doyle ¬¬ !

  • it's a bit like watching a Jimi Hendrix concert without Jimi there.

  • noel bramwell playing the strat did a great job dont compare with gilmour its not fair to either

  • Comment removed

  • @frecklesdk Whatttttt?? You meen DOYLE BRAMHALL ??? Doyle Bramhall II the left hand guitar player,???? Excuse me who is noel bramwell ???

  • noel bramwell playing the strat
