  • At least he didn't do the Nazi salute, like Americans did during flag pledge before 1942.

  • Lol :D

  • @myhamsterolive1996 Isn't it funny how 'under god' divides 'one nation' and 'indivisible?'

  • @archona54

how about under Sharia, why should America stand for freedom . Of course us humans are better off being squelched under an oppressive imaginative monster, Than to have inalienable rights to exist.

  • @archona54 Or "under horse shoes" or "next to a rabbit's foot". One superstition is as good as another.

  • @archona54 Why is that?

  • "The priest presents for consideration a compound of inherited forms with the expectation (or at times, even the requirement) that one should interpret and experience them in a certain authorized way, whereas the artist first has an experience of his own, which he then seeks to interpret and communicate through effective forms. Not the forms first and then the experience, but the experience first and then the forms."

  • @oooogieazgolf Smoke some for me.

  • The idea that we cannot have morals without any religious principle is odd to me. I believe in God, but even if you don't, that's a bit of an insult. What does being "religious" mean? Essentially, it means doing the same thing over & over & ever & over again on a regular basis mindlessly. I believe in God, but I don't need religion to tell me how to be a good person. An atheist doesn't either. All the atheists I know are better people than the shit-kickers who call themselves "religious".

  • What is it with all the nationalism in america?

  • I thought I was done, but Mr. Billy "w/ the 'can I watch you poop' video" (very classy btw) Oatmeal compelled me to respond to their post. They don't have to say the words do they? Also - kids hear that man-caused global warming is real by their teachers despite the fact that it is still a junk science based upon faulty data/climate models. So we all got issues then, don't we?? Now I'm done. Good day & thank you.

  • @Moonchild711 Bad argument. One could just as easily argue that prayer could be held in class so long as the kids who don't believe in god didn't have to pray. Dumb. Really dumb.

  • i don't what there is to argue. I just don't want kids to have god forced down their throats everyday they go to a public school. By hearing that everyday leaves an impression on a young child that god is real. If a kid hears something enough it becomes true in their mind. My opinion is to take the pledge out of schools until it doesn't refer to god being a real fucking thing. Christianity is aimed at kids because they have fragile minds and will believe anything. Fuck God. Thank you.

  • I'm done here. You can keep posting your opinions. I won't be reading them. I think my last several posts have sufficiently left you with the impression that I'm in deed no idiot and have an IQ above 50. Good day.

  • @Moonchild711 Dunning-Kruger.

  • America's written Constitution was to protect and secure God-given individual rights to life, liberty, and property. If we ever allow this foundation to be eroded and lose faith that these rights are a gift directly from God to each individual, then we lose the basis of the greatness of the miracle of America.

  • @Moonchild711

God granted us those rights? That's hilarious!

  • @Moonchild711 "Creator". Not "god". America isn't the best country when measured by HDI. Don't get me wrong. I love America but it's not number 1. There are nations far more secular with far better human well being. But if "god" were so important then the founding fathers should have put him in the Constitution. They didn't/

  • What are those unalienable rights with which we are endowed? They may be described in many ways, but English jurist Sir William Blackstone wrote in 1766, ".these may be reduced to three principal articles: the right of personal security (life); the right of personal liberty; and, the right of private property.."

  • @Moonchild711 Oddly enough the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness are not found in the Bible. Oddly enough, none of the rights found in our Bill of rights are found in the Bible. None of these rights were enjoyed before, during or following the inquisitions and crusades. Not until a govt with no state religion did we get such rights.

  • Who that is a sincere friend to it [free government] can look with indifference upon attempts to shake the foundation of the fabric?

Our Declaration of Independence acknowledges a Creator as the source of the unalienable rights that governments are formed to secure. This acknowledgement was the very foundation of the Constitution of the United States of America.

  • @Moonchild711 Problem is, the Declaration has NO legal standing whatsoever, and as such, is not the basis for any of our laws or founding documents. It was quite simply a "screw you" letter to the King of England at the time. Furthermore, look up the meaning behind "Creator" and "Nature's God". These are Deist terms, not Christian ones. Educate yourself, and the world is open to you. Remain ignorant, and be laughed at. The choice is yours.

  • @Moonchild711 A constitution that DOESN'T mention god. A constitution that says nothing of Jesus Christ, salvation or prayer. A constitution that provides for rights not mentioned in the Bible.

  • Whatever may be conceded to the influence of refined education on minds of peculiar structure, reason and experience both forbid us to expect that national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principle. 'Tis substantially true that virtue or morality is a necessary spring of popular government. The rule, indeed, extends with more or less force to every species of free government.

  • @Moonchild711 Yet there are many govts that are moral without religious principle. And, BTW, you are cherry picking your data. There were a number of founding fathers who rejected these ideas.

  • The mere politician, equally with the pious man, ought to respect and to cherish them. A volume could not trace all their connections with private and public felicity [happiness]. Let it simply be asked, "Where is the security for property, for reputation for life, if the sense of religious obligations desert . . . ?" And let us with caution indulge the supposition that morality can be maintained without religion.

  • @Moonchild711 Yet we know that morality CAN be maintained without religion. Denmark is 90% atheist and they have less violent crime and incarceration rates, per capita, than America. I don't care about some persons opinion when the facts are in direct contradiction.

  • @awatson945 - Yawn. Enjoy your atheism..don't force it on everyone else, jackass. Go live in Denmark if you love it so much.

  • @archona54 So basically.. You want to force your religion down his throat...

But you don't like it when he says that your religion is not real.

    Right. No hypocrisy here.

  • These three military leaders emphasized the necessity of moral behavior, declaring: Of all the dispositions and habits which leads to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports. In vain would that man claim the tribute of patriotism who should labor to subvert these great pillars of human happiness, these firmest props of the duties of men and citizens.

  • @Moonchild711 Their opinion. Those opinions are demonstrably wrong.

  • George Washington, the nation's first Commander-in-Chief, summarized the same truth in his "Farewell Address." Significantly, this address was also partially authored by John Jay (the author of America's first military discipline manual) and Alexander Hamilton (a General during the Revolution).

  • @Moonchild711 "If they are good workmen, they may be of Asia, Africa, or Europe. They may be Mohometans, Jews or Christians of any Sect, or they may be Atheists." --George Washington, letter to Tench Tilghman

  • Adams similarly explained: Statesmen, my dear sir, may plan and speculate for liberty, but it is religion and morality alone which can establish the principles upon which freedom can securely stand. The only foundation of a free constitution is pure virtue.

  • @Moonchild711 The question before the human race is, whether the God of nature shall govern the world by his own laws, or whether priests and kings shall rule it by fictitious miracles?

-- John Adams, letter to Thomas Jefferson, June 20, 1815

  • Ok for those of you who believe I don't know my history. Here we go:

John Adams (the founder of the Navy), on October 13, 1798, while serving as President of the United States and Commander-in-Chief, told the military:

We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. . . . Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.

  • @Moonchild711 Cherry picking. I suggest you learn more than simply regurgitating apologetic web sites.

  • This is the way the Pledge should be.

"One Nation, Indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for all."

  • As far as our money have "in God We Trust" on it, I have a stamp that X's out the word "God" and below it stamps "Is Fake". ALL Americans from ALL walks of life and ALL beliefs or non-beliefs should use one of these stamps. It SHOULD be appalling to ALL Americans that the government is promoting a religion in this manner. I know it would be appalling to our Founding Fathers, that's for sure!

  • @ Moonchild you said "I'm always annoyed by Atheists who think they can dictate what Christians should think and believe. How amazingly tyrannical of you all." Are you kidding me? All major religions especially Christians have forced their beliefs on others from the beginning. They threaten people by saying if they don't believe they will burn in hell forever. They arrested and jailed you if you spoke against the church. They burned you alive on a stake if you believed in something else. They w

  • Just follow the constitution folks. It's that simple. The purpose of the constitution is to ensure that no person be forced to act contrary to his or her conscience. You can believe or disbelieve anything you want. It's called freedom. Look into it.

  • @awatson945 I agree. no freedom here. When I say the Pledge of Allegience, I have to utter words I do not believe in. I am forced to say things against my conscious. I once attending a meeting where we said the Pledge of Allegience and I LOUDLY recited the original Pledge over those reciting the newer Pledge, Afterword someone told me I was being disrepectful to our country by leaving out the words "Under God". Really???

  • And one more thing, you may want to find out what your state's constitution says. Because I'm pretty sure many of the state constitutions have the word God in them.

  • @Moonchild711 And? Many states have laws, policies or declarations that are unconstitutional. How is that an argument?

  • @Moonchild711 And one more thing, it's amazing that Christians are usually the last ones to stand up for other people's rights. They don't give a damn about the freedom to follow their conscience as the founders intended. They just want what is in effect a theocracy. The freedoms they have to worship as THEY choose is only meant for them. Christ said to pray in secret.

  • @Moonchild711 Freedom OF religion means nothing if it doesn't include freedom FROM religion. If I can't follow my conscience then it is worthless.

  • @Moonchild711 I don't think the money should have a pyramid on it. However, no one is trying to push the Egyptian religion on anyone. So, I don't give a damn. When the Egyptian religion is used to to chip away at the Constitution then I will speak out against it.

  • You have every right to not have to say 'under God' when you recide the Pledge. Because God is in the Pledge doesn't make it a prayer. Don't use the money and coins w/ In God We Trust, then. Use your check card. I’m always annoyed by Atheists who think they can dictate what Christians should think and believe. How amazingly tyrannical of you all.

  • @Moonchild711 Oh yeah right. I have to choose between my conscience and using money. Smart, real smart. And you would be happy if the money or pledge said one nation under Islam. You don't believe that and you know it.

  • @Moonchild711 This country should be free of any and all trappings of religion. This includes the 'In God We Trust' slogan on our money. Religion divides, it says that if you don't pretend to believe what I or We pretend to believe then you can't be one of us. That sucks donkey balls.

  • Good try, but you failed to understand.,,,again. Do I believe in Islam, of course, which is why I would be offended if it said one nation under Islam or Mohammad...because Islam EXISTS...key word here. So you see, I'm offended because it does exist. You, however, are offended by something you believe doesn't exist. BTW in the Consitution, it may not say God or Jesus, but there is the word Creator. Who is the Creator the forefathers speak of, that gives us our rights?

  • @Moonchild711 ??? Nonsensical. Christians exist. I know that. What the hell does the existence of Islam have to do with anything? Do you believe that the tenants of Islam are true? If you did you wouldn't care if our pledge and money had the word Islam on it. It's because you DON'T believe the tenants of Islam are true that you object.

  • @Moonchild711 "Creator" is in the Declaration of Independence, NOT the Constitution. There is NO mention of any god, creator, deity, or any higher power in the Constitution, at all. The Declaration has NO legal standing -- it is simply a letter to the King of England. Quite simply, it is unconstitutional for the government to sponsor any religion or religions, so the law that added god to the Pledge and our nat'l motto are both illegal, plain and simple.

  • @Moonchild711 The Constitution doesn't say "creator". Please learn your US history.

  • @Moonchild711

That’s the declaration of independence that had the bit about the creator, smartass.

  • It's not irrational to want your nation to adhere to the constitution.

  • What is more irrational? The person who believes in something they can't see...or the person who gets offended by something they don't believe in?

  • @Moonchild711 Do you belive in Mohammad? If the pledge said "one nation under Islam" you would be offended by it even though yo do not belive in Islam. No one would buy your silly argument.

  • And yea, what is with all the cap action dude? You are screaming? Why? Why so serious? Ease up before you have a heart attack.

  • @Moonchild711 All caps? What are you talking about?

  • I meant *neither logical or rational.

  • Oooooooooooo so you aren't bullying me w/ your pimping of your Atheism? How have I bullied you??? Your tirades are either logical or rational. I have yet to read an explanation of why you are all so violently verbal about something being on money or in a pledge which you have no belief in, whether its there or not???*Yawn* You've succeeded in boring me to tears. Have a nice life & know that God loves you anyway. You can take those In God We Trust dollars & coins to the bank with that.

  • @Moonchild711 If the money said "Allah Akbar" or Mohammad is god's prophet you would be all over the first Amendmant with that. You know it. It's just that this particular bit of theocracy you like.

  • @Moonchild711 I know..it takes someone with an IQ above 50 to understand what I said..maybe you can ask a friend to explain it to you...

  • Christians are BULLIES and they to force people and bully people into believing what they believe by pimping their religion everywhere. Atheists would never do this. We're not saying change the Pledge from "Under God" to "Under Atheism"...that would be equally as bullying and equally as wrong! We're saying simpy remove reference to their false god from OUR Pledge. it does not belong there!
  • Here is what how the dictionary defines the word "National".

"peculiar or common to the whole people of a country"

I believe we have some uneducated people here!

Since not ALL people of the UNITED STATES have a TRUST IN GOD in common,

The national motto is a LIE.

  • Oh and as for saying that the motto is based on a lie, the burden of proof is on you to prove it as such. Just because you don't believe doesn't make it so. Also do you realize how you are shoving your opinions in my face w/ your stupid comments? You want to not believe in God, then fine, I DON'T CARE. So why feel so frustrated, so angry over something or about something you don't even believe in?? it isn't logical or rational.

  • @Moonchild711 Here is the burden of Proof. A National Motto covers the ENTIRE NATION..hense the word "national"..I learned that in 3rd grade, The "We" then is in reference to ALL within that NATION. I also learned what the word "We" stood for in 3rd grade. Did you skip that year or am I talking over your head? Since I am an American and I DO NOT Triust in ANY GOD, then that means it is a LIE..an untruth. DEAL WITH IT!

  • @Moonchild711 Just because you belive doesn't make it so. Just because someone belives horse shoes have magical powers doesn't mean it is up to me to disprove their nonsense. Some negatives can't be proven. You claim the horse shoe (god) is magical, prove it.

  • @ awatson945 It makes perfect sense!! Research Saul Alinsky and the founders of the Frankfurt School & you'll learn where these desires to remove God from this country started. As for the word 'We' - In God We Trust, how does it mean EVERYONE?? How about those who DO believe? We're a We, right? Us Christians? Right? You don't want to trust in God, fine. But for the majority of us who do, butt the frick out.

  • @Moonchild711 Still doen't make sense. I would happily defend your right to believe in a god. And your freedom to worship, pray, go to church, pray at the park, etc. I respect your rights. You don't respect mine. In America the minority are supposed to be protected against the majority. We are not supposed to be like Saudia Arabia where everyone is forced to listen to prayers. It's your beliefs. Keep them to youself.

  • @ Treniths & Theodorichen -- spoken like the good like Alinskyites that you are. Your forefathers of the Frankfurt School would be so proud.

  • @Moonchild711 That doesn't even make sense. America is secular. It takes no position on religion. You are free to believe and pray and make allegiances to anything you want. Say any pledge you want at home or in church or at the park. Just leave us the hell out of it. That's all. You would be bitching and moaning if the pledge declared that there is no god so why can't you figure out the golden rule and let everyone believe what they want without having beliefs shoved in their faces?

  • @awatson945 That is just it. we can't even do something patriotic and show support for our country like reciting the Pledge as a whole without being forced to say something we do not believe in. Why should only those that believe in God get the right to recite the Plegde as whole while not comprimising their beliefs.

We don't get that right, do we?? We should be able, next to you, hold our head up, and say the complete Pledge of Allegience without comprimising what we believe in.

  • Such as "In God We Trust". This is the current national motto. "National" means the ENTIRE NATION so the "WE" means ALL AMERICANS. Since NOT all Americans trust in a God or even believe in a God, this motto is a big FAT lie! Shame that the greatest country on the planet has a national motto that is a LIE. But, it pimps the religious message and that's all the people who put it in place cared about.

  • Silly Right Wingers...we are One Nation Under One Flag..NOT One Nation Under God...gt real...

  • Why does Porky hate America?

  • I'm still trying to figure out what the problem is w/ 'Under God' being in the pledge? I mean don't freakin say it if you don't want to. Jeez....the Alinskies can't even let Flag Day w/o bashing the Christians. Get over it.

  • @Moonchild711 I'm still trying to figure out how that's bashing Christians. Get over it you drama queen.

  • @Moonchild711 Really, you guys need to get over it. It never belonged in the allegiance. God does not exist in our constitution nor should it exist in the pledge, as it originally didn't. Would you be ok with us changing it to one nation under Alla? I bet you wouldn't get over that.

  • @Moonchild711 It's called separation of church and state. You probably wouldn't like it if the pledge decreed that there is no god. You probably wouldn't like it if someone simply told you in a glib fashion, "well, don't say it". We are citizens and are entitled to as much respect as you.

  • @Moonchild711 So what if it said "One Nation Under Porky Pig". or "One Nation Under Buddha". You would be fine with that?? A NATIONAL MOTTO should be representative of ALL Americans, NOT JUST A PORTION of Americans. Not to mention that, the Pledge was written to unite the country yet the divisive words "Under God" were added. Religion divides people into groups. There should not be anything divisive in a Pledge meant to Unite ALL Americans. DUH!

  • Notice: 48 stars in the flag.

  • "under god" was added in the 1950's...it was NOT in the original pledge allegiance...

  • ZOMG! Porky Pig is trying to take "Under God" out of the Pledge of Allegiance! Stone the (literally) unclean one! This is not a form of brain washing!

  • Now, he should work on taking out the "with liberty and justice for all" part.

  • Back when your country actually had standards...

Those literally were the "good ol' days".

  • @ragnarok343 Ah yes. The good ol days of segregration, back-alley abortions, and far equality for everyone who wasn't a straight white male.

  • @stfdbitch Yeah, and today you just have segregration, abortion doctor killings, and pretty much the same white male supremacy... OH and more water slides!

  • Some people are frickin' idiots. The phrase "under god" wasn't always in the pledge. Do your history research.

  • @momoreb Read up, FIDIOT: In 1954, Congress after a campaign by the Knights of Columbus, added the words, 'under God,' to the Pledge. The Pledge was now both a patriotic oath and a public prayer.

  • @dbleau7 It's STILL wrong, because not everyone is a christian, nor do they want to be. I'll leave it at that.

  • sounds so much more important that way.

  • Porky Pig is a godless homosexual Muslim terrorist, and hates our freedom.

  • @RadimirWackytov And I heard he drives a hybrid.

  • @RadimirWackytov Wait, how is he a muslim, and made entirely of pork? 0_O

  • as long as he's not eating pork

  • OMG WHY DOES PORKY PIG HATE AMERICA

  • I wish he saluted the flag the way they used to pre-nazi :(

  • Oh wow, I forgot about this cartoon. Haha funny the details you forget ;P

  • It's actually because he's a communist pig. (jk)

  • Thats got a nice ring to it.

  • That's the way I learned it!

  • I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of American and to the Republic for which is stands. One Nation indivisible... I am unable to say the rest without lying.

unequal treatment of minorities, women, gays. Unfair liberty of individuals vs corporations.

  • Th-th-th-that's all folks (no God shit)

  • The way it should be.

  • @theamazingfletch

You mean the 48-star flag, right? Because I hate Hawaii and Alaska, too.

  • @mitrumpetplaya No, Secular obviously.

  • @theamazingfletch

I know, that was the basis for the joke :p

  • @theamazingfletch The way it was till 1954...that was a dark year.

  • @WARof77 We have sadly come a long way from the hopes and of the founding fathers. Sadly the things america stood for most have all somehow been changed into making this a Christian nation. Something it was never intended to be.

  • @theamazingfletch The way I would proudly say it.

  • hell yeah
