Wow, great work. You convinced me to buy MO6 instead of the M50. May I ask, when you use the sequencer and record strings in track 1, and play live piano in track 2, will the piano sound gets choked when the strings gets to the end of the recorded measure? It happened with Korg Trinity. Thanks for your help.
what about the octave change on each split sound does anyone knows how to do this pls state thanks!!!! because i will not buy this keyboard if it can't do that, better i go for a korg!!!!!!
Hello guys. I have yamaha MO6 ...its my first keyboard ...i know how to use the basic things but i have no idea how to use it with computer and make some other background sound for live playing...Can anyone help me with it...?
@priMMoz I highly recommend spending some time going through each of the tutorials that are offered in the owner's manual. These tutorials do take sometime time to read and complete, but once you complete them parts of the puzzle begin to fall into place and you start to understand the basic "flow" of the MO. Once you start to grasp the basics, you will find that the possibilities start to become limitless. The MO is actually a very in-depth machine, with a slight learning curve.
@KspDtKK I've owned my MO6 for about a month now. I recommend going through all of the available tutorials found in the owner's manual. For example, on page 73 "Creating a song on the MO". It will be somewhat time consuming. But what I have found with the MO6 is if you are willing to invest a little time and effort into following the tutorials AND experimenting further on your own, you will pick up the "flow" of this synth fairly quickly.
@KspDtKK (continued...) Once you understand the basic functions of the synth itself you will realize how everything about the MO is actually designed to help inspire you to create music and also to increase workflow efficiency. Keeping in mind that the MO isn't a modular synth, as far as programing goes, the MO is actually a very in-depth and very capable synthesizer when it comes to creating that unique sound you are looking for. There are hundreds of insert effects and filters to choose from.
@resseses the MO6 has great guitars, nylon, rock, acoustic and has arppeggios to give like strumming sound rather than just a note...MO6 is just a better keyboard all around...
@resseses oh yeah, i use mine with Cubase perfect for FL and Reason as well...Mo6 has a direct USB on it, no need for an interface...just plug and set our software up...
@resseses oh yeah better sound in the Mo6, the MM6 is just a glorified PSR, which are the entry level keyboards, sounds thin and pretty limited on sequencing...the MO6 is a studio quality keyboard...better sounds and production features on it...
@resseses i would get the Mo6...the MM6 is just a glorified PSR keyboard, no bueno!...the Mo has the same tone generator as the Motif...which is top as far as production keyboards...MO6 cant go wrong...
@SteveMarksFromDenver I think is the one called Spanish, it's before the last one that is Turkish (Istambul Here) and i think it is using Arp. number 5 on the screen but im not sure
my guess is hes not using a keyboard amp... he has it running straight into his computer (notice the monitor to the right of his head with the changing levels) where he is probably recording the sound and just using the direct sound with the video... this is a professional yamaha demonstration so they are probably using the most professional video and audio editing tools
Hi, I really like the tune he plays in the very beginning of the video.. It sounds familiar but I can't work out where its from.. Anyone have any idea what it is?
but.. anyone who knows how to play the piano can just look at his right hand and know that he's faking the first song... he has no clue how the right hand goes.
Workstation has a sequencer. So you can work on creating the songs. MM has a very primitive sequencer, sketchpad to put it in right words and is not regarded therefore as a sequencer. Besides, many workstations have no sampler ability.
Synthesizer has a editable sounds, but no recording possibilities of it's own, no sequencer.
First off, there are a myriad of tones that he used for that part of the song so you have to be a little more specific. Second off, most people don't know this but Madonna took that lick from Abba in the song Gimme Gimme Gimme. Just a little info that you might not have known.
You can get a tone that sounds a lot like in Madonna's version if you fiddle around in performance mode. I would tell you how I did it on mine but I don't remember exactly how I did it.
This is gonna be my christmas present to myself and I CAN'T WAIT!!! It's with all of my self restraint that I don't blow my rent money on it right now...

When you say "create pattern"...are these patterns like "styles" like on the arranger keyboards?
Can you create your own arpegios also? If yes...doesn't this now become a "style" with accompaniments like the Tyros or PSR arrangers?

This is a great synth for contemporary music, but not for semi-classical. For that the ES 8 is the queen of synths.
Can't decide if I want to Ebay MO6, think maybe not, be a great adjunct studio synth
