i remember when my dobie did that do me :) i thought she was in my room and i walked downstairs to get a glass of water, then i was going back up stairs and i heard a click, so i turned around and didn't see anything, (it was pitch black) thought it was just the house shifting. yeah, well then when i got to where i had about 3 steps left, she ran past my leg scaring me so bad i fell down the stairs and pissed my pants. this was the first time, and it has happened several times since then. :)

As Chad mentions, this stalking behavior is a characteristic of the breed. I had a neighbor who had a Dobie, and one night a burgler broke in by jimmying open a basement window. They found him pinned to the wall the next morning, his underwear soiled, with the dog just standing there growling at him. He later told the cops that the dog had stalked him in the darkness, cornering him in just the right spot. Pure intimidation, so the dog never needed to bite.

@Gixxxer01 Thanks! Actually I didn't train her to do that at all. I just trained her to do it on command. It's a Doberman characteristic. I've heard of many Dobermans that do this.
