  • I support the world parrot trust and believe all that has been said because all though they are good pet this happens alot.

  • Over produced species/ hybrids, etc. are usually the results of money chasers, and self proclaimed "animal lovers". However, a breeder who dedicates his or her time to reproduce any of the various endangered parrot species due to threatened status, is doing a good deed. A sanctuary's idea, is advising the public to stop breeding and criticizing breeders giving bad advice which can have drastic effects on captive parrot populations as well. This can lead to extinction by aviculturists as well.

  • I was gonna buy a parrot as a pet for my home, but after seeing this video i am really shocked how this cruel people capture thisinnocent birds n keep themin flirthy conditions....

I am gonna change ma decision I will never buy a parrot or any other bird !!

  • @sangam061289 I don't know where you are located but the United States banned the legal importation of wild caught parrots since 1992 and more recently the European Union also banned imports of wild caught parrots. Fortunately, you can still own a parrot that was domestically raised and hatched in captivity and not taken from the wild. This helps wild populations to sustain or replenish their populations. Domestically raised birds are healthier, and make better pets and are readily available.

  • @ozelot250 Trapping really is devastating. But its a no win road for even the untrapped ones. Forests in these areas are being cleared for agriculture, as their trees are cut for wood and export, natural food sources become scarce. Their little hope is feeding in the newly man made maiz or corn fields. This doesn't work as there are upset ranchers ready with guns for what they refer to as these cash costing pests. Many species are doing far worse in their homelands than in captivity.

  • I've enjoyed watching it! Thanks for sharing..

  • im all with this but what if i want a "pet" bird cause i dont treat stuff like "pets" more less my best friend...witch is why i want a parrot cause ill have somebody to talk to at home...

  • I look after several birds, and after seeing this I am shocked. All of my birds were captive-bred, and I take great care in looking after them and giving them as much freedom and happiness as possible. I don't have any parrots, (unless you consider a cockatiel a parrot), and after this I definitely won't be buying one unless I am sure it is captive-bred. I only wish I could do more to stop this atrocity. I am disgusted at how these poor creatures are treated. If only more people knew about this.

  • omg people are such assholes. How can they deceive a wild, beautiful, strong and awesome bird of its home and if you do it at least do it with care by not treating it like a rag doll which you shouldn't even do. I hope someone close this people down. Also remember they do this to other animals too.

  • This makes me feel awful... I'm going to go hug my little cockatiel now. I'd hate to think of the pain his parents or grandparents had to endure =[

  • This breaks my heart but I'm sure nothing compares to how the parrots and birds that are affected by this heart breaks. I'm so glad that there are efforts being done to help put an end to this and to let parrots fly free and raise their young how they are suppossed to do. Thank you.

  • Piergiorgio, thanks for sharing such an interesting video!!! my favorite birds!!!

  • This is devastating! Already the Spix's Macaw almost went extinct because of these trappers. We need to get Asian and Middle Eastern countries to stop importing wiid caught parrots, they are the biggest markets right now. I have seen bird markets in Doha, Kuwait and Dubai/Sharjah, they are horrible!

I will mention this at Parrot Society meeting toady, let's see what we in Australia can do to help.

  • OMG THESE PPL SHOULDNT TRAP BIRDS!!!! holy cow, they should be free and do watever they want, unless they r going to check fr deseases on them and cure them, but they shouldnt FORCE them to go in a little box were they probably cant eve n fit and is uncomfortable. I think this is very wrong and should be stopped before these lovely, lively, beautiful birds are extinct. Then what are we going to do???? HUH???These birds should be freed. I think whoever is trapping them should STOP!!!!!
