hamilton passed the safety car after it crossed the pit exit line and to make matters worse, he couldve legally passed the safety car earlier but he waited and prevented alonso from being able to get by the safety car. he just timed it wrong and couldnt get by himself...at least not legally. it seemed like he was getting even with alonso for holding him up in the pits during qualifying when they were teammates.

Hamilton passed the sc before the end of the pit exit lane, so technically, the sc was still not in the racing track, and Hamilton was under no obligation to follow behind. If you see the video, Hamilton waits until the very last minute to overtake the sc to avoid alonso from doing the same.... it was race strategy and it was legal...

A penalty after 20 minutes? The only reason for that is that they gave him enough time to increase the gap and to get no consequence as a result of the penalty. hamilton passed the safety car after it crossed the pit exit line and to make matters worse, he couldve legally passed the safety car earlier but he waited and prevented alonso from being able to get by the safety car. he just timed it wrong and couldnt get by himself...at least not legally. it seemed like he was getting even with alonso for holding him up in the pits during qualifying when they were teammates.

hamilton shouldve got a stop-&-go or the race stewards shouldve at least issued the drive-thru as soon as the safety car left the track. then kobayashi wouldnt have been able to hold up the field long enough for hammy create a gap and retain 2nd place once he served his penalty. it seems deliberate since the overtaking of the safety car was so obvious. there was no reason for the decision to take so long to determine an infraction was commited. its a scandal.

Alonso's original complaint was that Hamilton was going too slow. But you can see Hamilton slowed BECAUSE the SC weaved across the white line. And once the SC was safely (ironic, huh?!) back in the lane, Hamilton passed. Was it strategy? Possibly. But from this bird's eye view - one could make anothe case. Still, he should NOT have been punished. On the other hand, I can see Alonso's complaint. FIA should change the rules. Races should be won by racing, not by gaming the rules.

Hamilton passed the sc before the end of the pit exit lane, so technically, the sc was still not in the racing track, and Hamilton was under no obligation to follow behind. If you see the video, Hamilton waits until the very last minute to overtake the sc to avoid alonso from doing the same.... it was race strategy and it was legal...

Like 20 laps after this happaned. So Hamilton could perform some fast laps and gain advantage. Even from the team they spoke to him and told him to go as fast as he can so he can get back to 2nd place....
That's drity tactics... It looks like It's better to cheat because you only get a light penalty and you still gain advantage compared to others..
from now on everyone should cheat....

A penalty after 20 minutes? The only reason for that is that they gave him enough time to increase the gap and to get no consequence as a result of the penalty. Hamilton is a cheater, we all know that but the worst is that the FIA allows him. A punishment that don't punishes the infractor? He sure will keep doing the same...Why don't make him champion and stop making the ridiculous? FIA has no credibility, It's a shame!

now im a ferrari fan...but DAM he was close to the safety car line. If you pause the camera at 9 secs, you will see the safety car line. if you hit it behind the safety car you must slow down. if your infront you get to go around again. its VERY tought to tell, and it very close. gotta give lewis the benefit of the doubt and say he was trying to hold up alonso and time it perfect. But he didnt but its VERY close. I wouldnt call that manipulation LOL. i would call that half a second too late.

BECAUSE OF THIS SC, WE WERE NOT ABLE TO SEE A BIG FIGHT BETWEEN ALONSO (who was gaining 1-2 tenth per sector on Lewis before SC) AND HAMILTON.
That should be enough to make everybody angry.

@nemgod He was not interested to risk a crash for gain 2 points that he would have 90% gained anyway because of Buemi penalty... and now don't start with gobayashy, because also babies knows he had fresh tyres... AND ANYWAY Alonso wouldn't have overtoke Lewis in the track, but he would have delayed the pit respect Ham and did fastest lap in order to be second after pitting. The same that would've happened in Canada if stupid Trulli would've seen the BLUE FLAGS

Alonso's original complaint was that Hamilton was going too slow. But you can see Hamilton slowed BECAUSE the SC weaved across the white line. And once the SC was safely (ironic, huh?!) back in the lane, Hamilton passed. Was it strategy? Possibly. But from this bird's eye view - one could make anothe case. Still, he should NOT have been punished. On the other hand, I can see Alonso's complaint. FIA should change the rules. Races should be won by racing, not by gaming the rules.
