As a previous 911 turbo owner and Nissan race academy finalist and GTR owner this car will spank a GTR even one which has had the Cobb treatment!! You will be able to thrash this car all day long with no issues can you say the same about a GTR? Nope gear box issues, cracked brake disks, trans temp issues etc

7:18 and yet still no proof? Strange how the Porsche people can accept this but for the GTR they can't? Yep Porsche have done it again and (a big GTR fan) they continue to brake ground. But personally only after the GTR did something they have been lacking to do for so long, GT2? yes it was a great car, yes it could be the GTR and lots of tracks but then it should with more bhp and torque and 300KG less weight. I think Porsche have been caught napping... ZR1, GTR! and are making a come back...

@sw1000xg Well Porsche themselves tried to get the GTR round as fast as possible, and with the same driver they could not make it go faster than the Turbo or the GT2. They didn't believe Nissan, so they tried out the GTR for themselves and concluded it was slower than their cars.

OK. The GT-R Vspec will only differ from the standard GTR by way of weight. It will only get a 10-15hp bump in power. But Nissan claims it will be about 200-250lbs lighter...which is significant. But even so....the GT2 RS is simply in a different realm of performance. A Scuderia will have trouble catching this car!

evo just did a test with the GT2 RS vs 599 GTO on nurburgring.., and the GTO had big problems in keeping up with the GT2 RS.., so.., if a GTO(the fastest car ferrari ever build) has that sort of problems, what can scuderia achieve ?(that's coming from a fan of "the scud" ;) )

My dream car is not longer the GT3RS. My dream car is now the GT2RS. Bit I think I will be dreaming for a while yet. However while it is far from the most powerful car out there, I do live the "partial" dream driving my 993C2 at my local race track. So I can't whine too much.

Somebody has to set the standards for performance cars and it certainly wasn't Nissan GT-R, they are always playing catch up. Put them both on a track for 12 hours and lets see who will at least finish.

@tutibiri Yeah that was ridiculous. Might as well do away with wipers or the extra seats then. Could also use carbon fibre roll cage and so many other weight savers. I don't mind the badge but trying to emphasize it like it's a big difference int he overall curb weight is just ridiculous. I personally like the GT3 RS more. This one looks like something RUF would release.

The GTR isnt built to compete with the gt2 but with the turbo.

Turbo and GT2 aint comparable on track.

GT2 is just a different league of car.

Nissan bought a turbo desing a looooooooooooong time ago from porsche but thats it and its not the turbos they use on the GTR.
