  • <3

  • the fastest workflow for any daw. hands down.

  • i like Ableton so much that im going to make my own personalized T-Shirt :P

    you will be freaking jealous.

  • Is live completely scripted in Python? also when working in osx do you use cocoa frameworks alot? oh one more quick question what IDE do you guys tend to favour for coding python on OS X? thank you, im trying to learn python so that by the time i finnish uni and give or take a few projects and years i will be proficient enough to start thinking about applying to work with you wonderful people.

ambitious i know, but hey defiantly very possible

    peace

    Brian

  • @sacredgeometry

They use Python to connect there Applications to the World wibe web.

Live is written in C++. If you want to develop software like Ableton live , you need a good knowledge at DSP , Mathmatics and so on. You also have to develop your skills over years to be able to understand and develop kind like this.

  • @SebastianBoldt They use alot of python for communication with devices (if i remember correctly), but yeah i found out shortly after posting the main bulk is c++ which is great because I already know c++ comfortably, I'm currently researching the maths behind DSP programming now and am getting back into developing AUs and VSTs to bulk up my experience and vocabulary.

    Thanks for the post

  • I wanna be like them when I grow up.... wait... oh.. Fuckin' hate my life.

  • i cringe just thinking about what live's source code looks like! lol

ST

  • I'm searching for a developer to be part of a growing invention project.

  • Interesting to see the people behind this great tool!

I've used it ever since Live 1.

  • i would work for you guys if there was a branch in the states!

  • there is, in new york

  • i have great ideas but no way to impliment them so unfortunatly not a great person to have on your team :) if i where better at coding (not so messy) i would be applying every chance i had.

    peace

  • I♡ Live

  • Ich bin einen Bass spieler, aber Ich funde Ableton 4.0 ganz toll

    please see me at youtube/funwun226

I really luv ableton, and later on in a year or so I'll get all the other tools

  • just have my new suite 8 packed, there are a aaalot of sound in there i really love it, for my opinion the only negative in live 8 is the warp mode in audio! in live 7 it was easyer to use and not much time to set a audio track perfect, now it takes longer.

    but i love it.

  • yeah it does a little, but it does make more sense eventually

  • Keep up the great work! Thank Ableton for his mighty product !

  • Live is definitely a great product!

We can use it on so many ways. Totally inspiring!

Just found out about beat-repeater on a Tom Cosm vid! Gonna use it on vocals ahahah.

    ♥ it! keep up.

  • Check out what the screen says at 15:06 !!

  • the bearded guy is so hot.

  • Nice vid. Now can you do a one hour special about the Asian girl @ 14:49 please? She was my personal highlight in the video ;)

  • I guess the nice atmosphere @ ableton goes straight ahead into a nice, almost perfect software.

The QA is great and the software is very stable if you remember how complex live is.

As a python developer and Live user since live version 1 I was thinking about to applying for the Python Developer job but unfortunately I left Berlin 7 years ago.

Keep up the great work, ableton guys!

  • Thank you Ableton team, the office is a bit sterile for me to work in but your software is fucking awesome.

  • ableton is god

  • dude wtf

    THATS WHAT I SAY!

    dude right on amigo

  • More reason to learn C++

  • where are the chicks?

  • 14:49

  • you guys make a great product, keep up the excellent work! :)

  • Very nice montage, company, work philosophy and software. Thanks for sharing!

  • Well, I sent you my resume for the web developer position, but you either didn't like it or the fact I live in Brazil has put you off. :-)

  • Wheres Max4Live??

  • look at jeremys screen at 0:30 <-there it is ;-)

  • i worked only with LIVE for our debut album,

i'll do the same for the next LP

    the ultimate tools

    Metafonik

  • I think I am gonna go work for them!

  • I currently study sound engineering and im hopefully going to study a Degree in sound design....I would love to do sound design for you guys....best DAW ever ;)

  • Excellent post. Do any of the Ableton developer's maintain a blog?

  • Thank you. To answer your question: we don't have any official Ableton blogs, but some of the guys probably blog around in their spare time.

  • i'm studying computer engineering... hope someday i work at ableton. i discovered LIVE when i bought my midi controller, i installed the software and the magic happened. i fell in love with it, its just what i needed, a powerful program with a simple interface. so make room for me i'll be working with u guys someday hehehe.

  • I only wish I knew how to develop software. I wouldn't even know where to begin.

  • I started learning programming on my own since I was around 8 years old, and also started composing on trackers (I use Live now) around that age too. I love computing and music, and I'm studying Computer Engineering. This video gave me a lot of inspiration for my future. Working on an audio software company is my dream, and certainly Ableton would be the greatest.

  • Yep same here ... as a software architect this would be my dream job.

  • job of my dreams :)

  • OH WHAT THE!

    I WANNA WORK AT ABLETON!

too bad i dont know anything about code or making programs...

    :(

    ill stick to making beats.

  • LOL!!! that's what i said too man , they got like a little oasis at work , sick!!

i have ableton installed already...... i went in and think i activated my midi keyaboard to it ........ BUT I STILL HAVN'T MADE 1 BEAT with ableton ....... i don't know ANYTHING about it ...... maybe u could tell me something that would help??
