The 95-96 Bulls ran the triangle to near-perfection that year. Their floor spacing was excellent, and they played on a string defensively. The Sonics were a great team that year, but MJ and the Bulls got in the way. BTW, comparing Kobe to MJ is insane, and the version of MJ in this video is not representative of MJ at his peak.

And my old coach used to be a big Laker fan and loved the old showtime days of Magic and it was all about teamwork and he used to bash on MJ for being too individual...but what made those Bulls team great and win 6 championships was the same thing that made our team win 2 championships, that was they played good defense..and ran the hell out of the other team. The Bulls were a defensive fast break team and thats hard to beat because they cant score on you and you score on them within 5 seconds.

MJ only starting winning championships when he had a team around him, his first 7 years in the league he didnt win 1 championship. They started winning when they got players like Scottie Pippen, a reliable shooter like Paxson or Kerr, and some big men down low, like Longley or Rodman who was one of the best rebounders basketballs ever seen. Well, when they won the Title in '81, they were ranked 4th in Defense. When they won it in '84, they were ranked 3rd. When they lost in the '85 finals, they were ranked 5th in defense. And when they won it in '86, they were ranked 1st in defense.

Considering all of that, I'd say they were pretty good defensively in the 80's..

As great as the 80s was it was not a Defensive game (not until Title-Detroit came into play in 1988). MJ was rusty after sitting out all his second season due to injury but he got whatever he wanted on Offense against the Celts Defense. Would the 1995-96 Bulls Defense let a 2nd yr MJ that sat out all yr due to injury do that to them? I think not.

Let's look at MJ's team

Ron harper was a 20/5/5 guy with great defense before he came to the bulls.

Pippen is arguably the greatest small forward of all time and would have been the best player on almost any other nba team.

Kukoc would have been a 20/5/5 guy on any other team. He's pretty much Hedo Turkoglu from this year.

Rodman is the best rebounder of all time.

The Sonics in game 3 looked like Patrick Ewing, Charles, Barkley, and Mugsy Bogues in Michael Jordan's movie Space Jam when the space aliens took their skills. But at least Seattle was able to re establish themselves in games 4 & 5. Seattle was 64-18 that year. Seattle was a pretty good team. Chicago was a bit better.

In this Finals series, the true Bulls fan will remember how dominant Dennis Rodman was for Chicago. Check the stats, he was arguably the MVP of the series. Not seen in this video... it was in this game that he got under the skin of Frank Brickowski so badly that after provoking him he got him kicked out of the game. Rodman was a perfect fit for this Bulls team.
