  • Its a Vauxhall.Defo.Brit bike broken down on the hard shoulder, some things never change..

  • That's a 1955 Ford Fairlane Sedan. Probably has a 272 c.i.d. Y-block v-8. and a Ford-O-Matic transmission. My folks had one when I was a kid.

  • @greenfuzz13 thanks for your input, I think your right........Gyproc...

  • I have looked at the original film of this on a big screen, I am sure this is a US car, it it clearly left hand drive. 2 persons in the car, Female on far side of car in light clothes looking toward camera, male in dark suit driving. I have looked through many US classic car sites but still can't say for sure what make and model this car is.! someone MUST know. keep looking, Gyprocjoe.

  • It's a 1955 Ford, can tell by the round turn signals. Looks like a Fairlane from the trim.

  • It looks like a 1956 Ford, either Custom or Fairlane to me. That would be an American Ford.

  • @mrforrrest I think you may be right, but others say not. Someone over there Must know for sure. Joe.

  • Cresta? Vauxhall, came under American influence in the late 50's!

  • @Blurredman Sorry i am sure it is not a vauxhall cresta, I think as i have said before, it's an American Car, probably a Ford. thanks for your responce. keep on looking.....Joe.

  • @gyproc86 You're right, the back end is not as severe as the Cresta and not pointy enough to be a Victor. Consul's and Zephyr's tend not to have such a rectangular grill though (more rounded at the top). I still got a feeling that It could be a Vauxhall though, because as we all know they were baught up by the American company of General Motors in 1925.

But maybe it's a Ford import that none of us Brits know of? We can't see which side has the steering wheel..

  • I think it looks like a Ford Consul

  • @NitroNoriFan I don't think its a British Car. I think its an American Ford. Joe.

  • It looks like know one can positively I D . This car as at the last day of Dec. 2010. Most think it is a US car??

  • not 100% sure but it looks like a vauxhall cresta to me,not a ford

  • Thanks for that mate.. I new it was not a ford zephyr . Others were telling it was, so to try and get a reaction I listed it as a zephyr zodiac. Thanks again. Joe. Callaghan. Garstang england .

  • Sorry mate but that is not a Zephyr in the clip,it is however a mid fifties american Ford..Ace clip by the way..

  • @SpeedTriple59 I can't be sure, but I think it's a 1955 Ford Customline 4 Door Sedan.

  • Looks like there's always been pillocks who sit in lane two.

  • No crash barriers fitted then

  • Lovely Ford Zephyr there at 0:31

  • Great period footage!
