That almost EXACTLY describes my Mystical experience...so it's apparently one of two things - a purely psychological phenomenon OR it's truly a third eye glimpse into the bigger picture. But I can tell you this, it's spoken of in great detail EVERYWHERE, it's in Dante's work, it's in Plato's Republic, its in Jacob's Ladder, it's in Pilgrim's Progress...it's called Satori in Zen & Illumination in most Secret Societies - all are variations which attempt to reach the realm of divine luminosity.
