Could we get an english translation? I'm too lazy to copy and paste it into google.

    Yes, I'm American.

  • 3:56 it looks like he's getting shot with a paintball gun!!! lol

  • Masterfully performed! Chopin would be very proud of Andrew Tyson, Excellent!

  • all the sounds sound the same, failing technique, good for durham and their brass bands but not a candidate for an international career. province is province and a provincial pianist is a provincial pianist.

  • @cmoll1012 I agree with you. He's not ready yet. He uses "rallentandos" or "riteniendos" where there aren't any, not a good control of shades and "fortes". A good promise perhaps, but needs guidance and more work. Sorry to say this.

  • oooo I like it!

  • Moral winner of the Chopin competition.

The only problem is that he resembles Horowitz a bit too much..

Something he must work on in the future.

He should stop listening to Horowitz and build his own style.

Copy is always a copy no matter how good.

  • @jpbdexv Very true, that's why I think it's important to listen to many interpretations of a piece while learning it, helps the pianist to find their style.

  • Wow, this is the most interesting and freshest interpretations of Chopin I have ever heard. Thanks for posting this.

  • One of the most beautiful versions i have ever heard

  • awesome!!

he should have been in the finals!!!!!!! whats wrong with the judges??

  • @johnayumi The judges hated him because he didn't play Chopin in what they consider to be the correct style (i.e. Rubinstein clone). Compare his playing with the boring but traditional style of Yulianna Avdeeva. Tyson and Daniil Trifonov were by far the two most interesting performers in the competition. Trifonov finished third while Tyson didn't make the finals. I guarantee they'll both have better careers than Avdeeva.

  • awesome!!

  • that is passion.

  • wow!

  • love your work Andrew

  • I am surprised how he didn't make it to the final round of the 2010 Chopin competition - he surely deserved to be there a lot more than the 1st Prize Winner....what a shame....

  • C'mon Andrew!
