So, homophobes - asks yourselves this Veteran's Day - are brave men like Paul and Philip Spooner wrong? What were they fighting for, exactly? Your rights alone? Or everyone's?
I hope my mom votes no......bcs she does not know about me being Bi....and it was great on how that father stood up for his daughter like that...makes me proud
I'm voting yes on one Tuesday, I respect others opinions but I feel as if marriage should be between a man and a woman. I'm not bitter or hateful, I go out of my way to help others, don't generalize.
What a great father this man is! He was terrified to speak, but he did it to support his gay daughter, and he did it beautifully. He's a patriot in the TRUE sense of the word. Thank you, Paul.
When Nazism comes to the U.S. it won't come in the forms of swastikas but rather yellow signs with blue and white writing and millions of people calling for the persecution of the undesirables.
Why is it that people who support marriage equality are so often full of love and empathy and those opposed are so often filled with bitterness and divisiveness (and dishonesty)?
Thanks, Paul & Jeanette, for being such good parents.
That was great speech. The greatest political actor win the world couldn't simulate the simple honesty, clairity and decency of this man at the podium.
With people like this our side. who can be against us?
Thank you, thank you, thank you. Your family is so lucky to have each other. I would give anything if my parents would even talk to me. best to you and thank you for standing for what's right.
Paul & Jan are such wonderful people & they raised two outstanding daughters. We are so proud to be pseudo family. And we sure hope this Bill gets passed.
Years ago I taught in the wonderful county, Aroostook. One of my treasured students was Paul's wife, Jeanette. Their daughter, Michelle and her life-partner, found me in my Provincetown shop several years ago and we've been in contact since. I am a lesbian and thrilled to think that good old Maine is finally pulling away from its prejudiced past thanks to wonderful Paul and others. All are lucky to have him fighting for human rights now just as he fought before for our country. ALL of us.

What an utterly wonderful and loving family. Those on the YES side could learn a lot about love, kindness, empathy, and compassion from this family.

Thank you Paul and family. I wish my Dad were here to listen to your speech. If more people were like you, our world would be a better place.

Paul, you may have been nervous but your speech was heartfelt and wonderfully done.
Your children must be amazingly proud to have parents such as you and your wife.
Thank you!

Thank you Paul! Even though I've never even visited Maine, as a lesbian, and a human being, I thank you for your support in such an important matter.
