  • THIS IS NOT ROCKET SCIENCE! Do you want to know why they decided to give insulation "r-value"? It is to best guage how they perform with conductive heat transfer. Insulation is designed to slow or stop conductive heat transfer, not seal or be an air barrier like the TWO that already exist in walls. So, R-60max w/loosefills vs. @R-30max w/spray foam, it is THAT easy, most foam is R-19 on the roof for the same price as R-60 loosefill. Duh moorons, foam is 3% market. That easy! NOT ROCKET SCIENCE.

  • @HomeEnergyNow i've seen your propaganda on several foam videos. You are obviously biased, let me guess, you sell fiberglass. Or are paid by someone who does. You should focus on improving the image of your product and stop trying to hurt that of others. Yes, I am biased, I've had three types in my home, foam being the last of course. Reply and I'll send you copies of my power bill, and if you still conduct business in this matter I'll buy a foam rig and put you out of business, it's inevitable.

  • @saganemc2 We build over 30 houses a year, I can send you our data on how foam is the worst choice of insulation possible. If you put three different types of insulation in your home........don't chat on youtube to people with brains. I am sure your one test house compares to the over 500 we have built. idiot. Send me your bills PLEASE not the other guy, we have NEVER seen in 500 homes a foam house that could do better than R-60 loosefill.

  • The worst type of insulation for sale today is spray foam. Go ahead and take your thermal barrier information for a non-licensed foam salesman. Or ask an A/C guy if they could do a manual J for you. Ask them to compare prices and effectiveness, they will tell you, foam costs the most, and preforms the worst of almost every insulation on the market. Can you install R-60 foam? People, "cant wait to have it in your house" math must hurt your brain.

  • @HomeEnergyNow you're a damn idiot.

  • @DubRanch1000 License # CAN06347. I love it when random people think they know alot about home energy, because if you own a spray foam rig, you must huh..........I just watched a few colleges like UT compete in a zero energy home project. NOT A SINGLE college chose foam.......just to pass code in most climate in the US. spray foam has to be "balanced" with items beyond code energywise vs. subpar. Ask the HERS raters here if they like "balancing" R-19 ceiling foam.....R-19? You people are crooks

  • @HomeEnergyNow Funny how you assume I am a random somebody who doesn't know anything. I am a HERS RESNET rater, as well as a builders energy star rater, as well as the LEED program. Oh, and the REM rate program. Do not take me for a guy who doesn't know insulation and energy. You seem to know that foam is the worst yet you have failed to mention anything that beats it and is practical for a house. Say what you want, as for me and my 100+ happy return customers, we'll do what's SMART.

  • First you are obvious, now you lie?HERS ratings decide how many stars, pretty much the same thing, sure you know that though! LOL.Might as well throw LEED in there huh?LOL It is DOLLAR FOR DOLLAR the worst insulation. Failed to mention anything that beats it? Try filling Remrate for your first time, there is a free trial online. Almost every comment I have made has mentioned what will beat foam, just about any other insulation out there, I will give you the numbers you can try in RemDesign.

  • There is a free trial of Remdesign, I know you don't have remrate, you never even gave a single license # LOL. Here are the numbers that beat foam every time and are used in most homes built today. R-38 ceiling, vs. R-19 roof deck. Just beat foam. Beat it some more? OK. Foam is on the roof deck, increasing conditioned air by @30% increases the envelope @10% and has at most 50% of the R-value. All of our homes are .35ACH. Now tell me please, how dumb do you have to be to think foam is better?

  • It would be really handy though if you were a foam salesman and a HERS rater. All new construction jobs with spray foam, JUST TO PASS CODE have to have a HERS rating so that the subpar, not to code spray foam insulation can be "balanced" with something better than required minimums, such as a 20 S.E.E.R a/c. How handy that would be if you could install the insulation at HALF of the REQUIRED MINIMUM, then be the auditor that approves it later....cover your shit insulation up. Real handy.
