@staceyrsteele It sounds a lot like what I had w/mine which was placenta previa; it is where the placenta is too close to the cervix & if covering it, it's auto c-section IF & ONLY IF she's on bed-rest w/competent OB who specializes in high-risk pregnancies. She could've been in a spontaneous abortion aka layman's terms: miscarriage. W/placenta previa, any jolt of ANY KIND can cause the placenta to pull free of the uterus causing miscarriage/premature birth/stillborn.

@staceyrsteele I hate to say this but, given the 2 possibilities, placenta previa or a miscarriage that could be stopped w/medication if administered soon enough to abort the contractions, that baby could've survived but the way she was thrown about & attacked being knocked to the floor, it's doubtful her baby lived. PP doesn't normally come alone either. There's toxemia (aka high BP during pregnancy that slows/stops oxygen to baby if untreated); I had it + treatable anxiety.

She drove herself to hospital, running a red light after saying she felt faint?  Then refuses to stop for police? Some people are so arrogant its not even funny. A $65,000 settlement basically means she did not have a case. Much cheaper than hundreds of thousands in legal fees for a case they knew they would win and which they knew they would never get $ back from her when they did.

I began bleeding at around 6mos mark & it was faster for us to get to ER than wait for ambulance & risk losing our baby, which was high risk already following another high-risk preg 10yrs earlier. DH put on the hazards; blew thru lites from home to ER - no problems w/any1. I had placenta previa, which could have killed us both.OB controlled bleeding; we l8r had healthy, full-term baby even w/high-risk

@zestydude87 10yrs prior w/oldest child I had bleeding issues too & it was a high-risk preg; quicker for me to drive to ER than wait for ambulance. I held it together long enough to get to the ER, again w/hazard lites on & going thru lights when safe same as DH did w/our youngest. Never had problems. In fact, on 1 occasion I was trying to get to ER b/c of premature labor & while stopped at light, cop pulled aside & asked if ok thru windows; I explained; he said follow w/sirens/lites

@zestydude87 Officer who helped w/sirens & blue lights w/our oldest actually ran inside to bring a wheelchair & a DOCTOR! He wouldn't let an orderly or nurse take me. He even moved my car for me as it was at the entrance behind his car. It's sad there's so few cops like that on the roads today. Those retirees could teach these young power-tripping god-complex asses about honor, service, & respect for those they are supposed to be protecting & how to do so WITHOUT INVOKING VIOLENCE!

He simply said, "It was my job." We brought the baby by the station after she was born & had pictures taken. He was teased a bit but when he first held our little girl, he cried & told her how much he was glad she survived. He turned down a medal, stating his duty & his job.
