  • Subjects of the earliest LSD experiments.

  • They are funny because of their "timeless" humor. Like Will Rogers, their satire is still relevant to the period; especially their political comments. Politicians are always crooked and inept it seems.

  • This is one of my ALL TIME FAVORITE SCENES!!! When Harpo is dealing the cards and licks his other finger, it is HYSTERICAL! Also the expressions of Harpo-PRICELESS! "The Dummy Leads, The Dummy Leads" HAAAAAAAAHAAAAAAHAAAAA!!!

  • Without a doubt the funniest thing(comical)or whatever I have ever seen and I will never again see this ,!!I LOVE THE MARM BROTHERS!!

  • Harpo Always cracks me up! Where would we be without ya

  • queencidend

  • Margaret Dumond is CRACKIN' UP at 4:18!

  • "He thought it was contact bridge" I lol'd hard XD

  • 3:04 Extraordinary. O.O

  • he thought it was contact bridge

    lol

  • This is (roughly) how I play poker.

  • "Oh we just play for small stakes."

    "And french fried potatoes?"

  • 2 Zeppo fans

  • 2 "accidental" dislikes...let's hope there aren't any more.

  • Marx Brothers are better than the 3 Stooges.

  • I LOVE how Harpo always makes people hold his leg...<3

  • "How do you want to play, honest?" LOVE IT!

  • They don't make comedy like they used to. Hell, they don't even make pretty girls like they used to! Before the invention of plastic surgery, Hollywood had to find natural beauty if they wanted marketable women!

  • "Cut the cards"

*Harpo gets out cleaver and literally cuts the cards*

Can't remember what film it was from, but it reminds me of this :D

  • @squishy3000 That was from 'Horsefeathers'.

  • I grew up with these guys. The roots of my humor

  • mister raviolli

  • "I should have mailed it to the Marx Brothers"

  • @disneythejen,

mankind stopped knowing humour when they decided to put Will Ferrel, Adam Sandler and Co. in comedy.

  • .Pure Genius... plain and simple...

  • Hey you taka the lady's shoes!

  • Oh my god Mr. Show is extremely groundbreaking and started amazing alt comedy in 1995. Thier has always been good and bad comedy. Marx Brothers were seemingly the creators of the more anarchic branch.

  • I've been watching these guys since I was 6, I'm 20 now, and love them even more!

  • i love the marx brothers,, im 46 now and iv been watching them since i was a young lad,, totaly classic humour

  • Hi fellow MB freaks! I invite you to enjoy my new master class on the music of Chico and Harpo. Free, hilarious, and very educational! Type in "Dave Frank" Marx on Youtube

  • And in real life Chico actually WAS a world-class bridge player...

    Ace-a-Spades...Ace-a-Spades...that's-a good lead, partner...Ace-a-Spades...

    :D

  • give margaret dumont alot of credit she was great at being the straightman among a bunch of crazinesss that the marx brothers get into.the marx brothers are my favorite no one has come close to them .my favorite is harpo.

  • Haha, i do love the brothers! XD My freinds believe I am stupid for liking them. :( They are the ones into the erally bad comedy... I mean new age, just, to my own opinion, isn't funny. They do have great jokes, but I mean, nothing at all like the begining of it all. XD I am fifteen, and I know no one at my school who adore these guys. I guess they're just missing out on some of the greatest comedians ever. It does stink to be them. XD

Best part 1:56- 1:58... Haha, very nice! :)

  • Harpo sure can suffle cards well. XD

Comedy like this will never get old, no matter what.

  • at 4:04 just a minnute now. shuffle the cards. yei you got to scrumble em up a bit.He is not shuffling cards. he's just making a funny noise

  • theres always time for a game of cards

  • agree with thelivingdead st8 up comedy and ima bus driver who kills time. Me and my coworkers play Bidwiz and this clip remind me of my coworkers who cant play the game or cheat.

  • OH MY GOD, the couch scene is CLASSIC!!! I am in ribbons...whew...

  • Omg three stooges are nothing compared to the brothers!

  • Don't forget the 3 Stooges!

  • and love laurel and hardy alot too. sons of the desert is genius funny.

  • im 36 and started watching when i was like 14-15.. saw at the circus actually and laughed until i cried.. i was hooked. i believe the zeppo ones are the best. . i LOVE monkey business. borrowed night at the opera on vhs from the library a hundred times i bet when i was younger.. thanks for posting.

  • you may be 13 but you're wise beyond your years!

when i was 13 (i'm 45) i also loved the marx brothers (still do). but we didn't have cable tv or dvds - so i had to wait for their movies to pop up occasionally.

i'll never forget reading in the "tv guide" that "a night at the opera" would be on. I couldn't wait.

my mom cooked dinner early so i could watch it, but when I turned on the tv there was a hockey game on instead!

    I cried! (maybe you understand)

check out wc fileds if you haven't yet!

  • You may be only 13, but you're very wise. When I was your age (I'm 45 now) I was a big fan of the Marx Brothers too - but we didn't have cable TV or DVDs so I just had to wait for movies to pop up occasionally.

One night they were going to show "A Night at the Opera" which I'd never seen. I was thrilled. I turned the TV on and a hockey game came on instead. I actually started crying! Maybe you can understand.

May I recommend you look at WC Fields and Jack Benny! So nice to read your post!

  • I'm 13 and I watch Marx brothers all the time! When did mankind stopped knowing humour when they saw it!?

  • @disneytjejen I couldn't agree more; seriously, what's so funny about a jungle cat in the bathroom? I'd perfer the marx brothers any day

  • @disneytjejen You've got to be the smartest 13 year old ever...

  • I wonder if this type of show will ever get a primetime slot on TV again? Hope so....

  • Agreed! I was born in the 70's, but the Marx Bros, especially Harpo, have always made me laugh!

  • I'm sorry I just got introduced to the Marx brothers this late in my film game these guys are legend!! I love this scene most

  • get the book Harpo Speaks

  • what marx brothers movie is this from? Animal Crackers, Cocanuts, or Horse Feathers?

  • Animal Crackers

  • of all the great funny scenes of all their movies, to me this is just the funniest scene of all

  • what about "PEAAAAAAAAANUTS,,,......to you"

  • No offense, but this makes stuff like south park and such look terrible. What happened to the good old days?

  • whn i first saw this film, i thought they were gonna put the beaugarde replica in the frame all folded up.

  • Marx Brothers,. so far ahead of their time,.no one has gotten there yet

  • "We play for small stakes",. and potatoes?

  • So much like a cartoon 3:00

  • I shuffle and deal the cards just like Harpo!

  • I love when chico shortens the words. "You see that painting?"

    "you mean this pictsh?"

also in at the circus he says. "ah thats a superstisch."

  • yeah, you got piksh, superstish and reservasch at least

  • How do you wanna play, honest?

  • There isnt anything that comes close to this idiousy today,. Too funny,.
