What's up with wynonna's pronunciation of the word "Tomorrow" at the beginning of the first verse. She sounds like she's forcing out a brown water snake from her stinky poop shoot.
This was my first show ever it was life changing...I'm about 25 yards back to your left.....Benn Phishin' ever since......C ya @ the Gorge this summer!
Dude I don't recall why I posted the comment, I was probably looking for Mule videos, I was surprised by some comments that at the time seemed to me to put video at 2007, it is so clear the date that I do not know why I had that impression, but I felt it impossible obviously that it was 2007, that's probably why I asked the question,I do not recall but I agree on your "Come On".
I love that she has no idea what to do with herself while Trey is just wailing away with everyone else. The woo-wooos just kill me too! Such a fun show though!
the best part about phish is that they can pull off any and all wtf moments... first time i saw them in NJ they pulled out bb king and jammed on blues tunes for a half hour?!?!??
wow, this is cool. Phish and Wynona? wow. it works! Ricky Skaggs is also on the mandolin too! What an awesome show. Love how Wynona gives the shirtless paunchy dancing dude her shawl! Hilarious!
everyone is entitled to their own opinion....except when it comes to free bird...your not allowed to hate it....ha j/k keep your own opinions no one can take them from you
lol! this video is great! wynonna always rocks. i was dared on stage in las vegas in 1997 by wynonna and jumped on and danced with her like this guy! thank god i had my shirt on!! lol
im sorry, this show sucked. i left wondering why i once had been so dedicated to this band. just cause some famous people sit in dosent make it a good show. if you liked this show you never saw phish in 94. for a good show try binghampton 95. aint no time to hate , just callin it like i saw it .THE BLACK LIPS ARE KICKIN ASS RIGHT NOW. forget nostalgia check the present day
Ncbloom, i did this whole summer tour, and it was one of the better ones of the tour... besides Hartford and of course the insanity of Deer Creek...solid set with incredible guests
Thinking back to this night, damn she was on Treys jock. This jam got me all the way to the next nights in Atlanta. Great encore, and a great start to a summer tour. I still ask myself if Trey tapped that.
same here man, i got into them in '04 when they were on thier last tour. luckily it seems very likely, Page jsut put out a little update a few days ago. word on the street is there might be a 10 year anversery of Big Cypress in 2010, which is perfect for me cause i'll be in college in Miami by then.
God, I wish that lady would STFU. Her voice is annoying as hell and she wont stop singing over the guitar solo, stupid ho.
Lol at the random dude who was 'free as a bird' on the stage.
Anyone who thinks Phish sucks just doesn't understand what they're doing. If you're saying that covering a song should sound exactly like the recording (because they were 'too drugged up to play'), then you should have stopped watching when the song started.
Also, why don't you try covering Freebird, douches
this was a good show; it kicked off a great tour, two-day atlanta stop, two-day alpine, three-day deer creek (moby dick show), two more in columbus. good time. miss these guys.
Those who cannot spell or seem unaware of capitalization conventions--either are pubescent, or are part of the 50% of Americans who can't say how long it takes the earth to go once around the sun. Which is it in your case?
Judd doesn't know Freebird. The band doesn't seem to know Freebird. The drugged up dufus who gets up on stage is a disgrace to the real musicians on the stage. Look. Sam Bush and Ricky Skaggs? What an embarrassment to those gents.
Perhaps that is the case, but they seem to be either too uninterested to actually play the song correctly, or unable. To my eye, it seems like the latter. But yes... Phish does 'kick ass'--you've made an excellent point.
you obviously don't know chit about phish shows. there's always someone on stage, those lucky bastards. this is a truely epic moment. who cares about some hillbilly on stage
I'm only describing this clip as a classic "pearls before swine" situation. It's likely that most in the audience have no idea the musical acumen of Del McCoury, Ricky Skaggs, or Sam Bush. I'm not sure what you're driving at, Dbuzz.
in case you're actually serious, let me break it down to you. Phish's fans are some of the most musically intelligent people out there. i can guarentee you that most knew precicely who was on stage with the band, as well as their "musical acumen".
You can? OK. Fair enough. I didn't know that about this audience. I was under the mistaken impression that the audience was more familiar with Phish and the jamband genre than Bush, Skaggs, or McCoury. Other than you just saying--what do you base this on?
i base this on having had conversations with many, many appreciators of the band Phish; not just about Phish, but about many musicians (bluegrass, jazz and otherwise)who are noteworthy and envelope-pushing. most of the Phish fans i know personally are simply appreciators of good music.
Based on the extent of your research, I will have to admit--you have me nailed. I hadn't conducted such extensive research, nor had I logged my data as you have. It is I who take the back seat in our tete-a-tete. My apologies.
I have seen Sam Bush, Ricky Skaggs, and Del McCoury all on their own before I even knew who Phish was & I am a die-hard Phish fan. Phish fans know their music (not just jamband music).
because you see, Phish were some of the finest musicians playing together on the planet. not only did they love playing with other musical masters, but the musical masters themselves have bucketloads of respect for Phish, which if you have/had ever seen what that band can do live, you would too.
I love Phish, just like you. I still think this reading of the tune is crappy, and given that Phish is gone like a knifehit of hash--the artists on the stage will withstand time's test far better than Phish. (Who?)
Again, a great band for what they did--but they didn't do much that will endure.
What do you mean, "look who's talking?" Did you understand the expression I used?
"given that Phish is gone like a knifehit of hash--the artists on the stage will withstand time's test far better than Phish. (Who?) Again, a great band for what they did--but they didn't do much that will endure."
okay, if you say so. Phish's music seems to be standing the test of time just fine and dandy to me.
"What do you mean, "look who's talking?" Did you understand the expression I used?"
i believe so. musical guests = pearls. Phish/fans = swine. swine generally have a tough time appreciating pearls. i'm just sayin you're making a very broad (and in my opinion, wrong) generalization about a vastly diverse band and group of people. that's cool though.
I mean, you said, "Look who's talking!" I just wondered what you meant. I understand what pearls before swine means, but what did you mean by saying, "Look who's talking"? Me the swine? You the pearls? I am casting my pearls before swine? I still don't get that part.
OK--I'm a huge fan of Divided Sky and a couple others, but stinky hippie jamband audiences just rub me the wrong way. I'm a 42 year old school teacher, whaddya expect?
the whole pearls before swine thing was just kinda ironic, that's all.

What a great treasure on Youtube! She recorded this song in 1994 for a tribute album and I have a feeling this might be one of the only times she has sang this live and perhaps the only video of it! Kudos to you!
She sang it live on a televised new years eve concert at Sea World orlando, right after she had her second child. Was great then. BUT she is having a blast at this show!
