@DENAANN1000 You do realize that "The Tudors" series is fiction, correct? There is no evidence of her "being a bitch" until the end. Quite the opposite-- just look at her final words.
Don't disparage her. She was a real human being that did not deserve what she got-- "bitch" or not.
I couldn't imagine being sentenced to death like that...and if Anne Boleyn did act in any way this calm, just mind blowing. She was just a soul who was a puppet of men. It was really nice in this scene how the executioner did it off guard, so that it would have been easier for her.
I feel so sorry for Thomas, you could litterally see the pain in his eyes. I've only lost grandparents, I've never experienced loosing a lover. I've only imagined the pain.
well in the other bolyen girl anne acted and looked like a person who is about to be executed .. but here she acts like some hero in an epic .. some times history lies
@17colormonitor In Tudor times even executions were surrounded with etiquette. Accepting your fate, facing death with courage and dignity, a short speech (in which Anne didn't confess, nor protested, saving Elizabeth) and praying until the end. It was reported by witnesses that Anne was calm and died with dignity. She even joked about her execution. And Anne was deeply religious. She was convinced that death would lead her to heaven, she had nothing to fear.
@17colormonitor I think so too, the other boleyn girl represents the fear and sadness in death. Anne didn;t actually show fear in real life, but sure she must've been at least a bit scared.
@17colormonitor I like perfomance of Anne's execution in " The other Boleyn girl" but history tells to us that she died with more bravery and dignity than we can see it in that movie. Anne Boleyn behaved herself like she go to feast and not on the scaffold before her death.
@QueenOfHearts95M As far as I know it was not private execution becouse the whole London gathered on 19 may 1536 to watch the first execution of England's Queen in English History.
Anne was hated by the majority. She was conniving, hateful, and not at all as pleasant as she seems in this speech. Although, yes, she was of great intelligence, she was not nearly as liked or respected as this. She was as 'pig-like' as Henry.
@Envyed64 they killed her because of following reasons: 1st: her husband (king) has finded another woman 2nd: Anne cannot give a living son to the king as she has promised and 3rd: some people told to the kind that she has been unfaitful to him, and so she was put to the death for high treason, even she was really innocent. And actually this is not from movie, it's TV-show called The Tudors. but you should watch it ^^

@yokyok5 Don't think I'd call her angel. She was human with human flaws. She was also ambitious, but most of all, she was a pawn in a chess game run by her father and uncle.
Im glad anne was beheaded. Thats exactly what she gets for treating mary and catherine like she did. Anne boleyn Stripped Catherine of her jewels, flaunted her new status in front of Catherine on a constant basis, according to history, "wished all Spaniards were at the bottom of the sea", and pretty much usurped each and every position that Catherine held.

@Maria30K Katherine Howard's execution was the cruelest of all. She was nothing but a 16-year-old flighty child who was married to a fat, disgusting, smelly old man who couldn't get it up. What's the sin in finding love with a young man her own age? Again, she was a pawn by her Uncle Norfolk. What a tragedy.
@sogood31 She failed to give King Henry a son. She gave him a daughter, Queen Elizabeth the first, then she was pregnant again with anther child, which sadly was a stillborn. She was executed because Jane Seymour overheard her talking to her brother about him getting her pregnant so the king may never know. She was also convicted as a witch, fore Henry was so taken with her. She was executed under the charge of Witchcraft and treason. God rest her soul.
@LadyMaskedAvenger That is not true. Lady Rochford was the one who made that up. She was jealous of the close relationship with brother George. Rumor is that George was gay
I take my hat off for natalie and give her a standing ovation, I reckon everyone would of missed her presence and on the set and her perfoma is amazing

@Elisabetta611 It wasn't murder. She was convicted of treason, a crime which still carries the death sentence in many countries today, including the USA. And she committed far more crimes than that, helping to bring about the Reformation, the greatest disaster ever to befall us, and we're still living with the consequences. She even wanted her stepdaughter the Princess Mary dead; "She is my death, and I am hers." Sorry, but she got what she deserved.
@splinterbyrd It was murder as she was convicted on TRUMPED UP charges. The Reformation wasn't a crime and certainly not punishable by death. It wasn't taken back after her death, now was it?
Do you actually believe this show to be ACCURATE? Geez, read Ives' biography of the real Anne Boleyn and THEN talk.
@Elisabetta611 Trumped up yes but beware of dismissing the charges out of hand. She had had lovers before breaking up the King's marriage and delightedly destroyed Wolsey, and even before marriage was ''becoming more and more arrogant every day.'' She actively encouraged the massacres of opponents during 1535 including Saint Thomas More, as well as burnings, hangings and tortures of the poorest subjects. And you're right, The Tudors is the worst historical TV serial ever made.
@splinterbyrd None of those lovers were never proven to be true. Anne was smart girl never had sex with but the king. Henry pretty much broke up his own marriage with Catherine of Aragon. Catherine last baby was a stillborn and Henry got tired
@sweetheart2109 He'd had numerous mistresses before and could have done so again. In the spring of 1527 the king sent Aragon's daughter the Princess Mary to Ludlow the traditional seat of the princes of Wales which suggests he was preparing her as his successor.
Then Anne Boleyn came on the scene, and she flatly refused to give herself to the king unless she was his wife. Boleyn's letters to the king are a carefully crafted campaign to lure him away from his marriage.
@splinterbyrd All of those charges were false. Lady Rochford pretty much made the whole story. Henry went along with it because he wanted married Jane Seymour which he did two days after Anne died.
@splinterbyrd Sir Thomas More wasn't the saint everyone thinks he was. He was responsible for hundreds of people burning at the stake because they didn't believe in Catholicism.
Jonathan Rhys Meyers plays Henry so well. He looked like a king, acted like a king, and probably could have become a king if he lived in that time...maybe.
@Chuckles123thefish I'm wondering, though, if they're going to age him and fatten him up to be more like the way Henry looked during the latter part of his life. Jonathan is way too good looking.
here is a thought. If Anne Boleyn had not died would Elizabeth have become the great Queen that we all know? was it the woman around her and her fear/respect of her father that enabled her to do her duty?
I always disliked Anne, reading about her, I disliked the things she did to become queen. This said, I think Natalie performed this part SO beautifully.
@MouseyMouse92 Anne was smart. She did not want to convince a child out wedlock. She wanted her child in this case Elizabeth's legitimacy to not be brought into question. That why she wanted to their were married to have sex. Anne thought her Elizabeth
@Allisynifly on the stairs? that's thomas wyatt, the poet. in the show, he was portrayed as anne's lover before henry. historically, whether that's exactly accurate is a toss-up. on a side note, i thought it was very significant that the show had him present at anne's execution, and crying, while henry is nowhere in sight.
The kings of former days are the politicians of today. Henry the 8th has nothing on any world leader. The conformists elect sociopaths to govern them, --less intelligent than ants, because they get nothing from their allegiance. Individual thought is the most difficult thing in the world for most men --which is why they specialize like insects. Google Fully Informed Jury Association to find a path to regaining our lost individual freedom, won by heroic Englishman John "Freeborn John" Lilburne
She was prepared to die as a Queen with diginity and grace, and she did, RIP Anne Boleyn, you are certainly with God and in a happy place, while your bastard husband is rotting in Hell.
@ZoeCEubanks a whore screws many men. She didn't. Actually she refused to bed the king until he married her. Not to mention she never wanted to be with him in the first place. But she probably would've met the same end had she refused Henry what he wanted: her
I loved this character so much and it was so sad to see her go. I felt like she was the best and was the one who made Henry happiest the most. Just the best character and I love Natalie Dormer too. Even though I knew she was going to die, I hoped they would of lived happily together. <3
@FreaKyRandoM Anne Boleyn only got 1 daughter Elisabeth I. I think that the last scene was a flashback to her youth. Her father Thomas Boleyn was holding her in his arms while the last smile of the young queen faded away in her chopped off head.
@MyXtreme21 no no I wasn't talking about the end scene. I'm pretty sure as well that she's flashing back to herself when she was younger. I'm talking about the little boy she looks at standing in the crowd.
@MyXtreme21 If this series is in any way accurate, Thomas Boleyn was a hideous man. He should've been executed as well. Maybe he was eventually...I don't know.
....and I have sat here and voted up every comment that compares Henry to a rancid smelling farm animal or expresses general dislike of him. Ann was too good for him; smarter, wittier--eh, we all have a list. Her very memory eclipses anything Jane ever thought about trying to be.
@Kenzbabiesmama He was beautiful as a young man, but he'd already started to bloat out following a riding accident by the time of Boleyn's execution. In the end he was so gross he couldnt move.
i dont have any sadness for Anne Boleyn because she was crafty in changing Henry's decisions and executing his most trusted friends its only when Henry got wise advisers that she was executed
@EllieMarianna henry was swayed by his advisers very little of what henry did was actually down to him. As Cromwell swapped alliances from Anne to Jane he then called for her execution and many of the clergy wanted her execution due to her Protestantism . A LEVEL HISTORY STUDENT IN MEDIEVAL HISTORY.
@MrHistoryhelp Henry made the choices. With Cromwell, his actions were necessary for his own survival, it was him or Anne. I have a masters in History, and my thesis was the Tudor dynasty...
the fact Anne was executed by a french sword must mean he truly knew she was innocent. Dying by a french sword must be seen as dying with dignity. Compared to the execution of Catherine Howard whereby she was guilty and died by the axe.
has anyone forgotten about henry's first wife, queen catherine of aragon. anne willingly took her throne, crown, husband, and even her child away. did she really believe that she would get off so easily. eye for an eye, tooth for tooth, foot for foot. due unto others as you would have them to unto you.
@kisha1682 If you read history and documentation, her family (uncle) used her and her sister as pons to the King to secure a better position for himself. Women in those days were only tools, and at the mercy of what men decided to do with them. It is all there in the history books, look it up.
@pigpenthecat Okay, you don't have to tell me something that I already know. I STILL say that Anne was well aware of what she was doing and didn't care who or what got in her way, just as long as she got her way. As for her uncle, after she used words at him that you wouldn't speak to a dog, according to him; do you really believe he cared if she lived or died? Anne still had a mind of her own and knew she was wrong by asking Princess Mary for forgivness before she died. THERE'S YOUR FACTS DEAR!
@kisha1682 Wow, it has been 500 years, and you are this angry over this. Somehow, you have missed the fact that her uncle used her as a prostitute. Women in that time did not have our freedoms that we have these days. So, if she used harsh words toward her uncle it was far less than what he did to her and her sister. All of Henry's wives or mistresses were all treated poorly, by Henry, but he was always chasing after this or that woman, with no regard of who he hurt.
@pigpenthecat Katherine Parr was not beheaded. She outlived Henry and remarried to Thomas Seymour. She became pregnant and later died in childbirth. You ought to check your facts when you post things like this.
@uniquelyanonymoslyme Sorry, for a little error, did not mean to type beheaded, ment to type survived, Thank you for the correction in my typing error.
@pigpenthecat Henry had 6 wives, of which all he abused, Catherine of Aragon: Divorced, Anne Boleyn: Beheaded, Jane Seymore: Died, Anne of Cleves: Divorced , Katherine Howard: Beheaded, Katherine Parr: Survived. Truth is being a wife of Henry had a huge price. He was a misogynist. I don't believe any of these women were bad, I feel it was the time in which they lived and they did their best to survive
Someone can write the Anne's words? I understand all but i need writee that she say and i don't understand all words. If someone can help me. Thank you!!
@tudorglee Good christian people I have come here to die and thus yield myself to the will of the King, my lord. And, if in my life i ever did offend the king's grace than surly with my death I do now attone. I pray and beseach you all to pray for the life of the king. My sovregin lord and yours. who is one of the best princes on the face of this earth, who has always treated me so well. Wherefore I submit to death with a good will, humbly asking pardon from all the world.
@kisha1682 if anyone should take up my case, i ask them to only judge it kindly. thus i take my leave of the world and of you and i heartly desire you to pray for me
@uniquemonique513- she was accused of plotting against the king, witchcraft, and incest. (sex w/ brother and four other men all who which were beheaded two days before anne.
Okay I did some re-search on wiki pedia of medival time of Anne Boleyn and I quite didn't understand it..Can someone tell me why she was being excuated IN LAY MANS TERMS?
@arieos2kewl4u Henry VIII was once very handsome, the casting director of the movie wanted to portray henry as a fit healthy king. the paintings of him are biased since they where commissioned by the king to have a biased imagery of the king.
Public executions look awesome!! They should still have them today!! I'd love to watch all the scumbag thieves, rapists and murderers get decapitated for my amusement!!
There is no honour in executing a woman regardless of the historical context or the customs of or day. Executing a woman weather by royal decree or not, weather a queen or not. Henry was surely a psychopath.
the sick thing about this was it was Henry doing the cheating not her, i guess being a king affords extra luxuries of being able to fuck anything while the queen is less than a second class citizen being used for procreation and nothing else

splinterbyrd 3 months ago
@splinterbyrd It was murder as she was convicted on TRUMPED UP charges. The Reformation wasn't a crime and certainly not punishable by death. It wasn't taken back after her death, now was it?
Do you actually believe this show to be ACCURATE? Geez, read Ives' biography of the real Anne Boleyn and THEN talk.
Elisabetta611 3 months ago
@Elisabetta611 Trumped up yes but beware of dismissing the charges out of hand. She had had lovers before breaking up the King's marriage and delightedly destroyed Wolsey, and even before marriage was ''becoming more and more arrogant every day.'' She actively encouraged the massacres of opponents during 1535 including Saint Thomas More, as well as burnings, hangings and tortures of the poorest subjects. And you're right, The Tudors is the worst historical TV serial ever made.
splinterbyrd 3 months ago
@splinterbyrd None of those lovers were never proven to be true. Anne was smart girl never had sex with but the king. Henry pretty much broke up his own marriage with Catherine of Aragon. Catherine last baby was a stillborn and Henry got tired
sweetheart2109 2 months ago
@sweetheart2109 He'd had numerous mistresses before and could have done so again. In the spring of 1527 the king sent Aragon's daughter the Princess Mary to Ludlow the traditional seat of the princes of Wales which suggests he was preparing her as his successor.
Then Anne Boleyn came on the scene, and she flatly refused to give herself to the king unless she was his wife. Boleyn's letters to the king are a carefully crafted campaign to lure him away from his marriage.
splinterbyrd 2 months ago
@splinterbyrd Engineered, though, by her father and uncle Lord Norfolk.
Bellaceraphoto 2 months ago
@splinterbyrd All of those charges were false. Lady Rochford pretty much made the whole story. Henry went along with it because he wanted married Jane Seymour which he did two days after Anne died.
sweetheart2109 2 months ago
@splinterbyrd Sir Thomas More wasn't the saint everyone thinks he was. He was responsible for hundreds of people burning at the stake because they didn't believe in Catholicism.

Jonathan Rhys Meyers plays Henry so well. He looked like a king, acted like a king, and probably could have become a king if he lived in that time...maybe.
Chuckles123thefish 5 months ago
@Chuckles123thefish I'm wondering, though, if they're going to age him and fatten him up to be more like the way Henry looked during the latter part of his life. Jonathan is way too good looking.

here is a thought. If Anne Boleyn had not died would Elizabeth have become the great Queen that we all know? was it the woman around her and her fear/respect of her father that enabled her to do her duty?
lukeallcock2 5 months ago
I think Anne Boleyn was a great woman. She didn't deserve this.
Staciegwen 5 months ago
I always disliked Anne, reading about her, I disliked the things she did to become queen. This said, I think Natalie performed this part SO beautifully.
MouseyMouse92 5 months ago
@MouseyMouse92 Anne was smart. She did not want to convince a child out wedlock. She wanted her child in this case Elizabeth's legitimacy to not be brought into question. That why she wanted to their were married to have sex. Anne thought her Elizabeth

@sweetheart2109 She was pregnant with Elizabeth before she was officially married to Henry.

who was the man that was crying and saying "bless you"?
Allisynifly 5 months ago

RIP Anne Boleyn, who gave birth to the most powerful English queen, and was killed by an english pig, called Henry VIII, king of England.

I loved this character so much and it was so sad to see her go. I felt like she was the best and was the one who made Henry happiest the most. Just the best character and I love Natalie Dormer too. Even though I knew she was going to die, I hoped they would of lived happily together. <3

MyXtreme21 7 months ago
@MyXtreme21 was that her son (who was the father)? D;;
FreaKyRandoM 7 months ago
@FreaKyRandoM Anne Boleyn only got 1 daughter Elisabeth I. I think that the last scene was a flashback to her youth. Her father Thomas Boleyn was holding her in his arms while the last smile of the young queen faded away in her chopped off head.
MyXtreme21 7 months ago

Her very memory eclipses anything Jane ever thought about trying to be.

i dont have any sadness for Anne Boleyn because she was crafty in changing Henry's decisions and executing his most trusted friends its only when Henry got wise advisers that she was executed
MrHistoryhelp 7 months ago
@MrHistoryhelp Wow, Henry was in control of his actions, not Anne.
EllieMarianna 6 months ago
@EllieMarianna henry was swayed by his advisers very little of what henry did was actually down to him. As Cromwell swapped alliances from Anne to Jane he then called for her execution and many of the clergy wanted her execution due to her Protestantism . A LEVEL HISTORY STUDENT IN MEDIEVAL HISTORY.
MrHistoryhelp 6 months ago
@MrHistoryhelp Henry made the choices. With Cromwell, his actions were necessary for his own survival, it was him or Anne. I have a masters in History, and my thesis was the Tudor dynasty...
EllieMarianna 6 months ago
the fact Anne was executed by a french sword must mean he truly knew she was innocent. Dying by a french sword must be seen as dying with dignity. Compared to the execution of Catherine Howard whereby she was guilty and died by the axe.

has anyone forgotten about henry's first wife, queen catherine of aragon. anne willingly took her throne, crown, husband, and even her child away. did she really believe that she would get off so easily. eye for an eye, tooth for tooth, foot for foot. due unto others as you would have them to unto you.
kisha1682 8 months ago
@kisha1682 If you read history and documentation, her family (uncle) used her and her sister as pons to the King to secure a better position for himself. Women in those days were only tools, and at the mercy of what men decided to do with them. It is all there in the history books, look it up.
pigpenthecat 8 months ago
@pigpenthecat Okay, you don't have to tell me something that I already know. I STILL say that Anne was well aware of what she was doing and didn't care who or what got in her way, just as long as she got her way. As for her uncle, after she used words at him that you wouldn't speak to a dog, according to him; do you really believe he cared if she lived or died? Anne still had a mind of her own and knew she was wrong by asking Princess Mary for forgivness before she died. THERE'S YOUR FACTS DEAR!
kisha1682 8 months ago
@kisha1682 Wow, it has been 500 years, and you are this angry over this. Somehow, you have missed the fact that her uncle used her as a prostitute. Women in that time did not have our freedoms that we have these days. So, if she used harsh words toward her uncle it was far less than what he did to her and her sister. All of Henry's wives or mistresses were all treated poorly, by Henry, but he was always chasing after this or that woman, with no regard of who he hurt.
