  • Good download. Excellent, wide open, hi-fi sound quality. Thanks so much.

  • 5:44 - 6:09 PUTA QUE PARIU!

  • Cozy Powell Cozy Powell Cozy Powell

    Que bateria, my God

  • ..THE BEST RAINBOW LINE UP AND THE BEST RAINBOW ALBUM NO MORE WORDS

  • I have all 9 Rainbow albums on vinyl if anyone is interested. The earlier ones with their original gatefold covers and some lyrics.

  • @BalladOfThinMan That's awesome dude. I've always wanted the first four myself (Rising in particular). They're just such an epic band. Rock on man!

  • this is my favorite Rainbow song ever... the double basses kicking , Richies solo is great and of course the Maestro Ronnie...

  • DIO had superhuman powers! how else can explain it! woahhhhh! RIP x ;)

  • i dont think i would even attempt to cover this song

  • ritchie blackmore is a genius

  • D: 5 people can suck a fuckin dick! this song is amazing!

  • There are too many subgenres, that they all are genres themselves

  • Anyone feel like this song is supposed to be a sort of sequel to "Stargazer"? The line where he says "All my life it seems just a crazy dream, chasing for somebody's star" I think it's about a guy who had to build the tower for the wizard in that song.

  • @johnjohnTL you're damn right about that, this song is about what happened after the death of the wizard :)

  • @AcesHiigh Good, I thought I was just really high and kicked that shit up outta nowhere.

  • @johnjohnTL It is, yes. You can see it in all the lyrics.

  • @johnjohnTL Stargazer, like you said, is about the wizard enslaving people to build him a tower to reach a star that can't be reached. This is indeed a followup song, about how the wizard has fallen but the author has been chasing the wizard's dream for so long that even after being freed he decides to continue building the tower to nowhere. With that background in mind, the ending is incredibly epic (and the rest of the song for that matter)

  • @johnjohnTL Yes.. is the story of the returning of the slaves. The pinnacle of rock music.

  • @johnjohnTL Dude.. That was a sick connection haha

  • @johnjohnTL mos def.

  • very underrated song, either people are death or just retarted this is absolutely amazing

  • As it says, everything was not better before, but the music is an exception. These guys were Ambassadors of one of the best genres of rock music that has existed. "People, fall down on your knees and bow your heads before the Kings"

“I've got my way back home”, let us hope that the music of today does the same

  • i'm coming home....YEAH

  • So GOOD...the best part is how after you get lost in the greatest instrumental section of Music History, DIO welcomes you back....FUCK YES

  • Shad up

  • Solo starting at 3:41 breaks balls!!

  • PURELY MAJESTIC!

  • Ronnie didn't die for me, when I listen the songs he sings he's alive for me and that will never change. I hardly can't imagine there'll ever be a better metalvoice.

  • Part 2 of the Wizard concept. RIP Dio. RIP Cozy. Blackmore = God

  • This was the first album i ever bought...11 years of age and followed Dio and Blackmoore ever since. Saw Cozy loads of times, last time wih Black Sabbath.

  • This is a masterpiece....RIP Ronnie and Cozy.

  • this track is timeless motherfucker timeless!

  • Rest in Peace Ronnie, we miss you greatly!

  • Two of the best songs Rainbow ever recorded along with Tarot Woman, Catch The Rainbow & Man On The Silver Mountain, they are truely stunning musical masterpieces!

  • I meant Stargazer too! (typo)

  • a masterpiece, true gem!

  • Wooo what a awesome combo dude... Ronnie James Dio + Ritchie Blackmore + Cozy Powell: FUCKING EPIC MASTER CLASS :P

  • What's with all the arguing over what genre this is. At least everyone can agree that this is an awesome song and Rainbow were an amazing band.

  • The first speed metal song. Period

  • love this song, one of my favorite albums

  • eargasm

  • A classic!!! Love it!!!

  • Its music, stop arguing and listen.

  • dio is the best singer and blackmore the best guitarist and powell the best drummer :)

  • I believe that rock has many sub-genres. Metal is one of those genres, but metal has sub-genres of its own as well.

  • OPERA !

  • ロックオーケストラ」だ!

  • who cares what is this ! enjoy this masterpiece ! ;)

  • A light in the black is the continuing story from Stargazer

  • This is brilliant ...

  • I wish Rainbow would have kept Dio they probably would be a household name like Black Sabbath is.

  • @kanaric They are in the UK.

  • @Mobsie666 yeah but sadly for the bonnet stuff not dio stuff

  • YEAH!!!! @damin 888 or whatever, you stupid??well there you have it lady's and gentleman perfect example of why you cant fix stupid!! lol

  • listen to accept-breaker and compare...

  • CLASSIC....

  • MY FAVORITE SONG FROM MY FAVORITE ALBUM AND MY FAVORITE VOICE-DIO R.I.P RONNIE MISS ME

  • Is it just me or Rainbow > Deep Purple (i still love them)?

  • @Luxmaxnike its just you :) purple are incredible album stuff for rainbow was better than deep purple apart form maybe in rock, but live purple were a class apart

  • @frazerpmobrien Nah, i know people who thinks the same

  • My favorite Blackmore solo. MAN I wish I'd been there to see/hear him play this!

  • this song and bs - lonely is the word are like sister songs, and both outstanding

  • Stargazer and this song deserve all the credits in every school of rock as something that you should first get to know about power metal!

    \m/ from Serbia...

  • I'm just 15 years old, but this song is one of my favorite songs!

    R.I.P. Dio!!!!!!!!

  • @2szabi2 I've noticed that. I mean that it seems that a lot of today's generation is liking more of the same stuff I grew up with (70's rock songs), and I am 30 years older than you. ;D They say everything comes back in style. I guess it's true. Plus I have heard some of the more recent stuff this generation sometimes listens to, and it seems that this generation just has a lot better taste in music than the previous one or two generations before them. I hated the hip hop generation. =D

  • What's with all this it's metal, it's rock, it's metal, it's rock, crap?? It's both. Metal is a type of rock. Metal, Classic, Oldies, Grunge and even Thrash are types of rock ( even though I don't like grunge or thrash ), which range from everything from the Beatles to Metallica. To help those who are having trouble grasping this, all metal is rock, but not all rock is metal! But metal or rock, this is one of the greatest songs ever performed by some of the greatest rock artists ever.

  • @MisatoK29 FUCKING AMEN !!! CAN I HEAR AN ALELUYA??? :D

  • FANTASTISK,,, RIP.. JAMES

  • This shoud be heard every day

  • Thank´s for reminding! The best song on the record. Touched me like nothing else at that time.

Difficult for me to understand the discussion about metal or not metal and who is what. Good music is always good music, no matter the style.

  • This album and song set the standard for Metal.. Nuff Said.. Zep was blues rock and AC/DC was blues rock.. This was pure Metal.. What vocals.. Dio was in another universe.. He could sing a beautiful ballad and then flippin ROCK! Ritchie new exactly what he was doing when he left DP and formed Raibow from the remnants of Elf.. he knew what Dio could do.. Holy Cow this stuff was and still is amazing.. Why do you think bands like Dream Theater cover their stuff.. It was a level above anything else.

  • I am glad for having bands like Rainbow to accompany me and remind me of perfect musical times. Blackmore and Dio are people I will surely remember in my next life

  • I agree with you brotha!! Rainbow is pure Metal and this is a fact (not opinion) scientist proved it in their laboratorys, im one of those scientist lol Dio's vocal melodies alone make this band Metal. His melodies are way to mystical and dark to be just pure rock n roll. If you want pure rock n roll listen to AC/DC. The only time Dio was rock n roll was when he was in Elf.

  • Is it me or is it a toned up version? The bass is much stronger than my record.

  • When music was written and songs also ,,,pure rock ,,,the best u get ,,sorry kids ,,who do not know good music

  • @deansusky I am a HEAVY DEEP PURPLE FAN, but should admit THIS IS THE HIGHEST LEVEL OF ROCK. ROCK THAT ONLY FEW BANDS COULD PLAY. /DP, RBW, WSNK/

  • @dickensbg This whole album is so satisfying ,,magical ,,

  • @dickensbg RAINBOW was the only band that could resist the ABBA INVASION at late 70's. Rock should have been dead for long time if Ritchie was not performing.

  • @dickensbg iron maiden ?!

  • @frazerpmobrien Get me correct. There are hundreds of high level bands, but RB and RJD were magic combination. You get such in art ONCE PER CENTURY. Extremely fertile production they left. Who and when will be the NEXT? Much time should pass!

  • 5.26 Men Behaving Badly...anyone?

  • S.F.W. !!!!!!!!!!

  • Superb Song

  • ok

  • I have same opinion, like the person belov........I respect!!!!!

  • This is such an epic sound especially for 1976. I have to headbang when I hear this. Blackmore + Dio was so fucking epic, I wish they had come back together and made more of this. Such a dirty hard edge, yet very mystical sounding and classical.

  • Ritchie Blackmore. The standard all guitarists should aspire to.

  • DIO did not die, God just wanted to meet a heavy metal hero face to face

  • @svartlav you mean satan...

  • great great great great great great great

  • wtf is up with the views? so small

  • I came...

  • This song sounds like a sequel to Stargazer.

  • Indeed what an album! Although it's short, Rainbow Rising is PHENOMENAL from start to finish.

  • What an album!!!!!!!

  • Tinikorom legkedvesebb Rainbow száma... 10-15x meghallgattam egymás után.

Das beste ond liebste Lied from Rainbow. Wenn ich 15 war, habe ich täglich 10-15x gehört.

    Ein Rainbow-fun aus Ungarn.

  • @szedlacsek

I have no idea what you you just wrote here, but something tells me that it's awesome. Long live rock and roll my friend.

    Ben Brown Jr.

    Mr. Oregon Leather 2007

  • I remember reading that this song was done in one take. Cozy Powell wanted it to be as live as possible, so they rehearsed it for 2 days and then went live.

  • かっこいい・・・・

  • sick solo !!!!

  • 3 idiotas não gostaram dessa música!

    Isso é puro rock!!!!!!!

    from Brazil xD

  • Featuring the greatest Rock drummer to ever live...Rest In Peace Cozy. We miss you every day. No one will ever fill your seat.

  • OMG!!!!! 666 likes!!! thats a coincidence

  • this is the sequel to stargazer...it shows what happens after they escape from oz.

  • I'm gonna buy this CD RIGHT NOW!!!!!

God bless Dio, God bless rock and roll!!!!!

  • Certainly not forgotten. I love this song!

  • Uwielbiam ten kawałek.......

  • Holy cow, what a GREAT freaking song! Over 8 minutes of power rock Richie Blackmore style! This song rocks from start to finish. Thanks for posting this mondoinc. This was worth every second.

  • Ritchie Blackmoore & Ronnie James Dio hit a speed & rhythym milestone here,,, and the crazy part is... this was 1976 release which means they were toying with it long before it made publication.... This band really set the tone for future metal, & Toni Iomi was the definitive launch to **METAL** as it is now known.....

  • reminds me of some song by judas priest...or is it deep purple, or ....

  • @RussMario It should remind you of both those bands, I think ;-)

  • I can't believe some weird ass band called Sabaton and titled one of their songs 'A Light In The Black'. Rainbow's a light in the black was on their 1976 album, and according to what I read, Sabaton's light in the black was made sometime in the 90's, so guess who copied who? You know they didn't come up with that song title on their own. Unlike the Rainbow song, their light in the black song is terrible. And what the hell kind of name is Sabaton anyway? The band name is terrible too.

  • @MisatoK29 Sabaton is a good band, they are new but good...singer has a powerful voice.... i have seen them live and they are fantastic... But Rainbow kicks ass

  • One of my favorite Rainbow songs of all time. Dio all the way!!! They don't make rock songs like this anymore and singers now don't sing as well as Dio anymore either. What a shame.

  • I can feel this song gave a lot of influence to sooo many later songs. I can tell iron maiden, metallica, perhaps even judas priest and avenged sevenfold took a little influence from a solo fragment...not to forget bullet for my valentine that almost took the whole main riff in its song "disappear".

  • I can feel this song gave a lot of influence to sooo many later songs. I can tell iron maiden, metallica, perhaps even judas priest and avenged sevenfold took a little influence from a solo fragment.

  • This song should be called "A Light in Jack Black" because that's what Dio lit in Jack's musical soul.

  • Great song, but it's not as good as the one before it. Stargazer.

  • no one can sing this song none.not a human.maybe an alien.so hard to sing.amazing dio amazing vocals respect to the best singer ever.

  • FUCKING AWESOME SOOOOOONG!

  • One of the best rock songs forever ever!!!

  • @damin888 Yeah, Stargazer is very good too !!!

  • @ploermel56490

    fully agree

  • @damin888 This is metal, Not rock.

  • @Arsenalw80 THIS IS PURE ROCK, Rainbow labeled! DON'T TALK ABOUT METAL INVOLVING RB! It's like OBLaden mouth kissing GBJunior!

  • @dickensbg or you can listen to another "GREAT HEAVY METAL BAND" called DEEP PURPLE :) :) :) :)

  • @dickensbg Rainbow has always been Metal, Obviously you don't know what you're talking about if you think this is pure rock.

  • @dickensbg And Rainbow didn't label it rock n roll the stupid record company did, numb left nut. Richie Blackmore's riffs are to fast and distorted to be just rock. You must not know alot about guitar or vocal melodies. Open your ears!! don't just look at the labels and base a closed point of view off of mainstream record company labeling. Deep Purple is Metal to. If you want pure rock n roll, like i said listen to AC/DC or Led Zepplin

  • @Arsenalw80 totally agree. In fact, one of the first "speed metal" songs for me, it showed the way.

  • @Arsenalw80 metal is rock douche

  • @harobmx123 No, That's like saying pop is the same as rap, Or that classical is the same as opera.

Metal is faster paced and has more aggression in general than rock.

  • @Arsenalw80 it really depens on how the band decides to call their genre :) for example most AC/DC songs are way heavier then ozzy's or judas priest or dio, and they refer to their music as hard rock while dio/ozz/priest are heavy metal.

some bands even come up with their own music genre like alestorm who call them self pirate metal :)

  • @metalmusiking AC/DC, Is not even close too being heavier than any of those three.

And pirate metal is a real genre, So is folk metal, viking metal, and so on.

  • @Arsenalw80 take "shoot to thrill" by AC/DC for example and compare to "worth fighting for" by judas priest hard rock vs heavy metal.

and pirate metal is an invention of alestorm it ISNT a real genre or sub genre of metal, both pirate metal and viking metal are sub genres of folk metal wich is a sub genre of metal and so they arent a REAL genre as more of a THEME of the song lyrics.

  • @metalmusiking Well obviously not all of it is going to be heavier, That goes for any band though, they all have their lighter songs, A Tout le Monde - Megadeth/Fade to black - Metallica, You get the point. But that doesn't make one band heavier than the other based on a single set of songs.

And I do believe pirate metal is considered its own sub genre now since it grew in popularity like folk metal.

Viking metal is a sub genre of heavy/black metal not folk metal, they are similar though.

  • @Arsenalw80 yeah i agree, just thought i should point out that its not a crime to call this a rock song even tho its a heavy metal song :D

  • @metalmusiking Haha acdc isn't even close to as heavy in general as any of those three as the other guy said.

  • @hermygagala Did i say "in general"? why do you even bother replying on a comment you obviously didnt read? i said SOME SONGS, not only that i also said that YES i agree that in general thoose bands are heavier...so i really dont undersand you.. are you trolling?

  • @metalmusiking Yeah obviously some songs of a metal band are going to be soft. Do you know anything about music? Seriously almost all metal bands do some ballads in their careers at one point or another. That is like saying Shoot To Thrill from acdc is heavier than Judas Priest Before The Dawn. Seriously think about it. And the way I see it you are more of a troll than me I had no intention of trolling. Atleast my information is valid and correct.

  • @hermygagala See...you keep arguing with me even tho i said that YES i AGREE that overally thoose bands are heavier but there are some metal songs that are softer then rock...you are a big fat troll who still refuse to read the message he's replying to.

please if you got this far in reading my reply i beg you DO NOT RESPOND you are making me sad.

  • @metalmusiking You are the one who is mistaken. Just think about it how come you are the only one who is angry at my comment but no one else is angry at my comment? Seriously you blatantly said acdc is heavier. Here is your exact quote: "for example most AC/DC songs are way heavier then ozzy's or judas priest or dio, and they refer to their music as hard rock while dio/ozz/priest are heavy metal." And this didn't say sometimes it blatantly stated that all of acdc's songs are heavier.

  • @hermygagala Or atleast most of them. When this is completely untrue. Basically all of Ozzy, Dio, and Judas Priest's stuff that is intended to be heavy and not a ballad is way heavier than acdc's music that is intended to be their heaviest. Of course a metal bands ballads are going to be softer than a hard rock band's "HARD ROCK". It is so basic and even an amateur music fan knows this.

  • @metalmusiking And how else you would call Alestorm, if not pirate metal?

  • @ddd9022 folk metal :) with lyrics about pirates.

  • @Arsenalw80 its music,thats all

  • @Arsenalw80 Metal is a subgenre of rock, you stupid.

  • @hehhee1000 It used to be. Nowadays there's too big a difference between rock and actual Metal. Metal is a genre on it's own, with many variations like Power, Heavy, Death, Symphonical etc etc.

  • @hehhee1000 this is what wikipedia says, but imo it's like saying rock is a blues subgenre, metal doesn't strictly means very heavy and fast rock, it means Hard Rock without blues influences, and complex structures with some others peculiarities. This is my opinion

  • @hehhee1000 Actually metal is a subgenre of blues just like rock.

  • @hehhee1000 But the difference ist unbelievable!!!!!!

  • @hehhee1000 it may be but that doesn't mean they're the same thing you stupid

  • @MrYungsan I never said that they are the same thing. Damin888 said that this is his favourite rock song and that means that this is his favourite of all rock songs including also metal songs, you stupid.

  • @hehhee1000 what the fuck, it has influences about the application and the continue progress in the distortion, drums, etc , but for me, in melodical, armonical and rhythmic are independients

  • @hehhee1000 Metal is it's own genre, because metal has subgenres

  • @hehhee1000 this is

  • @hehhee1000 and rock is a subgenre of the blues, music is derivative of itself, what is your point? metal has taken its own form and i find it more distinguished as an independent genre now

  • @Arsenalw80 Metal, rock, whatever you want to call it, its really just AWESOME!

  • @Arsenalw80 This is "ROCK" not Metal!!....Rainbow were not a Metal band!..end of!!

  • @sufeeb SInce when did Metal bands have keyboard solos!!...LOL. Rainbow, Purple, Zep never were Metal. I think if you asked them in person they'd tell you they were Rock n Roll bands..or Heavy Rock if you prefer.

  • @sufeeb Dream Theater and Queensryche to name two. At the end of the day, does it really matter if you describe it as metal or rock or anything else.....if it kicks ass, it kicks ass!!......And this most certainly kicks ass!

  • @sufeeb At that time they were considered metal bands in era of disco music and their music was heavier than other rock bands

  • @232469ah Yeah. Seriously. They weren't called "Classic" when they were new!

  • @sufeeb Metal is a kind of rock.

  • @Arsenalw80

heavy metal and hard rock are much alike... heavy metal are much closer to rock than heavier metal////

and some of their songs are rock

  • ha,ha,ha,ha,ha.... WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY ?

  • Perhaps the most rocking song ever. It is exhausting to listen.

  • Classic song!!! Love it! God Bless Dio!!!!

  • rainbow in the dark has a similar title

  • song out of control...so hard for playin, especially for any singers ... Rainbow at their best...

  • MASTERPIECE OF RAINBOW!! AMAZING ..... TROPPO TROPPO!!!!

  • Rip [Rock . In . Paradise]

  • forever RONNIE..!!!

  • EPIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
