The main thhing I LOVE about the Brutis, is how the guys that own it are still driving it. Instead of leaving it in some museum as nothing more than a showpiece, they chose to actually put it to use for the world to see its true power.
i've seen the Brutus for real, it's an amazing and scary machine. can imagine back in the days they thought this was the Devil's limousine. great project and a must see!
You will probaly never hear it agian, as they took it out for a TV Show they burnt the clutch and the owner is not willing to repair it. So you better take what you get !
What gets me is all that power put to the road through those tyres. I've seen wider rubber on a bike. Must be hell to keep on the road, and bloody suicide in the wet.
I love how you can see the lifters and springs wroking, there is no head covering the parts on the engine, thats so cool i wonder if its got fins for air cooling? or if it even gets very hit, because there is a long time between firing, and also it only revs to 2k ish. so it cant get very hot.
yakkamobbfoob, the torque of this engine if the horsepower (750)& rpm (1700) are correct, is: 2319 lbs/ft @ 1700rpm. This is a very softly tuned engine by modern standards, - only 49.3 lbs/ft per litre! Most modern petrol engines make more than 70lbs/ft per litre. The best modern car turbodiesels make 140lbs/ft per litre even before they get chip tuned. So a modern turbodiesel of this capacity would be making 2130 bhp @ 1700 rpm. & 6580 lbs/ft of torque!!
That is insane! The brute power would shred those tires in one burst or the throttle! Its huge, I'd like to see it take a run on The Flats with modern tires!
About the complaints about A/V quality. Boa721 wasn't there. Neither was I. Huiibuh was and had the presence of mind to fire up the video on his cell phone. If he hadn't, Boa721 wouldn't have anything to complain about and I wouldn't be appreciative of seeing something I otherwise wouldn't have. People like that are the ones you DON'T buy T-shirts for when you go on vacation, because they wouldn't appreciate it anyway.
Well :-) the iPhone wasnt out at that Time, when I recorded the movie. I got one a few month later. I now use a NOKIA N97 and it makes incedible Pics and Vids much better than the iPhone.

this is extremely gay for 750 hp wtf throw a set of turbos on a big block!! i bet the power to weight ratio is less than a pedal bike!!
canadiangearhead80 1 year ago
@canadiangearhead80 you gotta remember that the car components pre 1930
so 750 bhp in a car that weighs about 1500kg, that meens over 400bhp/ton

Yes, the exposed valve train would need a lot more maintenance in a car, 1 meter above the dusty 1900's dirt roads, than high up in clean air...
