God didn't create life, life creates itself. The only reason why people don't believe the end of the world could happen is because we don't know any species smarter than us. And it's highly probable that we could advance our technology to avoid another mass extinction. But if we do fail, and life is wiped out of earth, in a few million years, life will re-create itself again like it always has.
