@TheFmp100 Yes you can connect the pink wire to either of the two terminals on the defrost heater harness kit. Hope this information helps. Let us know if you have any other questions. I will also email you my answer.
I notice the pink wire was on the front connector when you took it off. You put the pink one on the back side when you installed it. Will either way work??

I have a GE side by side, the insides, look exactly like the video. I did everything that your tech did. The coils are still defrosting. He shows a pink & black wire in the vid. on the right hand side of the coils. I have a pink wire on the right & a blue wire on the left. Do I need a different part number?
parts select, please send me the links as you did kristy 74133. I to need to determine whixh is the faulty part the heater, thermostat, or defrost timer. thank you.
@Kennadams1 Not a problem, you can find repair and troubleshooting advice on our website at partselect. com. I have sent you the specefic link to your inbox though, let me know if you have any more questions!
@partselect, thank you for the video. very useful. i think I have the same GE fridge as displayed in video model number 25.0. i have the same concern as Kenadam1, how do i know which part is faulty? the freezer is icey and the fridge is warm. do not think it has anything to do with the motherboard but not sure. can you please link me/ give me model number for the items i need to purchase. (heather, thermostat or defrost timer) and the appropriate video to help do the set up.
A quick question...the evaporator is definitely freezing up but how do I know that it's not the thermostat versus the defrost heater? I'm only asking because when researching this problem online, some responses say defrost heater and other responses say thermostat. Thanks so much for your help
@kristy74133 We have information on our website on how to test if a specific part is malfunctioning. In these YouTube comments we are not able to post links though. I will send you the links with the step-by-step directions on how to test your defrost heater and thermostat to your inbox.
My fridge is a Leonard, 35 years old, accumulates frost on the evaporator, I changed the thermostat defroster and the the heater defroster, better but still accumulates frost on the evaporator, is it all right if I place another defroster heater, so to have two defroster heater.
@nasser4812163 Adding a second defrost heater would not be a recommended solution. It is more likely that the evaporator fan is not functioning properly or that there is a significant air leak that may be introducing an abnormal amount of moisture into the refrigerator, causing an increase of frost build-up on the evaporator.
@nasser4812163 If the defrost cycle is terminating prematurely then I would look at relocating the thermostat so that the frost is completely removed during the approximately 20 minute cycle. Hope this helps! - Steve
@iAbsoluteTV This defrost heater kit replaces the single heater. It's redesigned to use two heating elements for a better defrost cycle in your refrigerator. It is specific for GE refrigerators and GE manufactured brands: Hotpoint and Kenmore. It’s not specific to a particular fridge model so if your GE, Hotpoint or Kenmore fridge is not defrosting properly, or is not maintaining consistent temperatures, then this part should fit properly and fix your problem! Let us know if this info helps!
i"m only will say thanks, the first time that happened to me i paid 300 dollars, the second time in less the a year, same problem, but this time whit this video, i only spend 42 dollars......yahooooooooooooo

Great video! This looks similar in design to my older GE side-by-side. I'm having the same problem and presume the defrost heater has gone out. My problem is finding the part for it.

That is the exact same fridge that i have. I was just wondering how you know when the heater has failed, my fridge recently began running constantly, and the fridge side is no longer getting cold and there is frost on the back of the freezer... do you think it is the heater or the motherboard or something else? thanks...
@futureman11335637 I would suggest checking out our Virtual Repair Man, the link has been added to the description of this video. Since there are a lot of models that use this particular Defrost Heater Harness Kit you need to enter in the model number of your fridge in the Virtual Repair man search bar. After you enter in the model number, select the symptoms your fridge is experiencing and the results will be what part you need to fix your fridge.
