When you spoke about how your grandmother records and preserves family history, I couldn't help but think of how you vlog. I realize they are two completely different things, but perhaps part of the reason you value recording your own life is because your family values remembering and appreciating the past. just a thought.
oh my wow! that is so cool of you grandma to do! all those events are just there! at hand ready to read! your so lucky that you can just pick up and read YOUR family's history! i want to do that! lol ps im from indiana too! actually when you said wabash i thought "wait, we have a wabash river..." and thought you lived here too! lol then i realized how ignorant i was!
The most fascinating Grandparents' house. I'm attempting to gather together family history but WOW, those glorious neat binders! That looks like years of work and research. Wonderful.
@jocelynallday I looked it up to double check and while Aurora was one of the first cities to be electrically lit (Either second or third), Wabash Indiana was the very first in the world.
I've been realizing lately how sad I am that traditional family life isn't what it used to be. Its good to have something to belong to and to have a history to plug in to. I think it helps us know and appreciate what our place is in the world. Great video.
@DanRezler I'm pretty sure a plowing contest winner was the team who plowed a given field in the least amount of time. Yeah, I'm an Indiana farm girl.
you were adorable as a kid! Sooooo cute!!!

Do those books all say history in different languages? I saw the one saying Hanes and that's Welsh...

Love thoughts from places. Yours are good too.
But, I'm quite certain that Aurora, Illinois was tue first city in America. That's where its name comes from.

@DanRezler Yeah. Wikipedia says that and but the city website says it's the first. I feel like I've been fed LIES AND CONFUSION.

A national plowing contest? How does one enter? Is a farm necessary?
ermzgracieisawesome 1 year ago
@ermzgracieisawesome I asked the same questions and my grandma didn't have the slightest clue how one would go about judging a "best plower".
