I wish they wouldn't have sped up the song though. She's great but even she needs to have a chance to breath in between some of the words. I hate it when bands do this. Shame on this band for speeding it up. Maybe they all decided to speed up the tempo but I doubt it.

I read comments on You Tube regarding songs and singers, saying "He or she is good, but not as good as x, y or z". Isn't the song, the singer about what it conveys to the listener that matters? We all have differing tastes when it comes to music, and a song perfrmed by one person may not appeal as much as when sung by another. I think the voice of Alison is a truly moving experience, and has an ethereal, almost haunting quality about it. Let's agree at times to differ, and enjoy these gifts!

Stunning.. just stunning.. what an amazing voice Alison has, note perfect, and the guys in Union Station are absolutely brilliant!! I "discovered" AKUS in 97, and their music has had a profound effect on my life.. I often dream of a road trip in the US, with their music as a soundtrack.. what could be better? I really, REALLY wish they would do a tour in Europe as im sure they have a massive fan base here too.. or maybe I just have to make that trip after all.. :)

Pure class. Have become an AKUS fan over the past 6 months and keep coming back to this video as the best. Alison's beautiful voice, perfect harmonies, and an instrumental segment where she plays put this one over the top for me. Compelling and emotional lyrics performed flawlessly. Perhaps I am niave but it seems these folks have great respect and admiration for each other. It's a treat experiencing those who are the best at what they do.

It is not just a "song" with her and her band, it is an American eclectic aesthetic, polite, kind, a bit mystical, the "feel" of what we want from a classy modern south...and a classy dignified nation. It is THE sound of our age, or at least the sound of what we long for from this age, this place and time.
@Amber24122 Hi Amber, I agree with you regarding Ms. Krause. Since you may not have listened to Emmylou Harris I would point you in that direction. Listen to Emmylou's songs like "Leaving Louisiana.." and some others. Allison is my favorite but Emmylou can steal a few hearts too..

for many years (over 12) the woman who raised me, that is my mothe,r (my aunt), always said that if she ever heard an angels voice that alison krauss was it!! no comparison!! she is a christian woman tho i am not..i always agreed with her!! the voice of an angel!! no one else compares!!!! alison krauss holds her own candle!

Pure class. Have become an AKUS fan over the past 6 months and keep coming back to this video as the best. Alison's beautiful voice, perfect harmonies, and an instrumental segment where she plays put this one over the top for me. Compelling and emotional lyrics performed flawlessly. Perhaps I am niave but it seems these folks have great respect and admiration for each other. It's a treat experiencing those who are the best at what they do.

I don't care that she's an old singer! Even if I'm a adolescent girl, I still adore her songs! She's very talented. She can play piano, she can play guitar and even violin! Wow, she's the most talented singer I've ever known. Thumbs up if you agree!!!!!

@Amber24122 I am not sure even those of us who are long time fans realize the level of elegant class she has brought to "country" bluegrass inspired music. It is not just a "song" with her and her band, it is an American eclectic aesthetic, polite, kind, a bit mystical, the "feel" of what we want from a classy modern south...and a classy dignified nation. It is THE sound of our age, or at least the sound of what we long for from this age, this place and time.

@Amber24122 Hi Amber, I agree with you regarding Ms. Krause. Since you may not have listened to Emmylou Harris I would point you in that direction. Listen to Emmylou's songs like "Leaving Louisiana.." and some others. Allison is my favorite but Emmylou can steal a few hearts too..

@Amber24122 Remember that she doesn't play "Violin"...she plays fiddle. :-) Even though many will tell you there is no difference in the sound or the instrument itself, there is...the bridge! I am so going to encourage you to follow your dreams, age is just a number, so honestly you can do anything you want too in this life! @Amber24122 She is very talented, but I can't say she's the most talented singer I've ever known. Wang Lee Hom can speak more languages than most multilinguists, and can play a lot of instruments (more than her)
