  • FREDDY KRUEGER! D;

  • I love people who are proud of their origion & culture & are dedicated to spreading it wherever they are, especially in a loving way. Hayat Elhajj Shalhoub, Douma, Lebanon

  • I like your video, you have a new subscriber!!

  • @linnlar - thanks! and glad you liked the story. =)

  • Dit kookprogramma is anders dan andere. Achter het gerecht zit een persoonlijke geschiedenis. Ik vind het leuk om te zien waar gerechten vandaan komen. Dat zie je in dit programma, erg leuk.

  • nice!

  • stupid video

  • Lovely to watch. There's a very apt moral to this strory, most of the west just don't know how to cook any more!

  • hungry (;p

  • This was so fascinating to watch, so I thank you!

    Jeanne

Love Lebanese people and their culture.

  • lebanese squash (kousa) seeds are available online and in stores...for those who wish to grow their own, please check my website's alice's kitchen resources page. i list many sources for lebanese squash seeds...including organic.

thanks for all the sweet and positive comments! and to cooking up a story for such a great video!

happy cooking and gardening! may peace prevail in 2009!

    salaam alaikum!

  • LEBANON BELONGS TO SYRIA

  • people eat hummos and falafel all over the world Egypt, Syria, Iraq, Palestine, and Jordan they are just "Middle Eastern" dishes.

  • Agreed. My grandmother's from Iraq, my father's from Syria, but we all have Armenian roots--these dishes are common throughout all of these places.

  • 5 Stars

  • Just got this from Linda:

after a quick check of my weblinks, here's what i found (however, since we

are just between growing seasons, the companies may not have next year's seeds ready to order until after the first of the year):

skyfiregardenseeds[dot]com has "lubnani" (which means lebanese)

rareseeds[dot]com has "lebanese white bush marrow"

bountifulgardens[dot]org has "lebanese light green squash, summer, bush"

Linda's site might have more info:

    lindasawaya[dot]com

    Hope this helps!

  • I'd love to plant Lebanese squash? Where can I find the seeds in the US? I ususally buy the squash in Middle Eastern stores when I want to make "Kusa Bil Laban" ( squash in yogurt sauce).

  • nothing like family. Nothing like tradition. Thank you for honoring your heritage.

  • She has such a soothing voice. Haha! That food looked amazing!

  • Thanks for this video. Really nice to see such good fresh food.

  • Linda, you're the best!

  • I love your style, great vid...yummy!!

  • Yes, I think the most important is too perceive cooking as an act of magic.

  • kapralia - do you prefer to cook traditionally or by using more finton techniques?

  • Well, it depends on what is traditional. My traditional cooking could be new to you, right?

    What does "finton" mean?

  • Do you prefer to flay the vegetables?

  • Yes, fresh is best. Better for our bodies and better for our families. Not so long ago, all food was eaten in the same region where it was grown.

  • Wow, this video is very proffessionally done! love it!

  • Thanks summers57! I really like the Potato Recipe you shared in the 'video response'! They look so yummy, and not hard to make at all :)

  • haahhahah. i agree with ryankingisbatman.

..LEBANON wooooo! ....i feel like baking now.. hm. lol

i love the henna on her hand :)

  • Pretty picture of mommy in wedding dress

  • Why am I watching this.

  • Wonderful video and wonderful lady...so when are we all invited for dinner? Ahaha I think I'm going to buy the book...I might surprise my friends with a Lebanese recipe WINK!

  • Great story as usual. I guess I have eaten more Lebanese food than I thought.

  • Did I see henna on her hands?? Sweet!

  • Yes! It was a beautiful design, I thought. And, just a few days old.

  • Very nice vidio on lebanese cooking. I like the story with the creation of the foods. I understand the book used for the food prepared on this vidio is coming out out at some Costco stores.

  • very good, but let me comment on the editing. You should let the story take breathes. It's ok to let the visuals take over without voice over every so often. It allowes the viewer the ability to absorb what is happening visually without someone feeding them new information.

  • Lebanese food rocks!

  • beautiful!

  • Wow..beautiful garden ...mmm the figs are so big.

I used to climb a huge fig tree when I was a kid....I miss the small....thank you for the wonderful story & recipe treats
