hey i got a new society finch today but how can i tell if its male or female? and wat happen if two females or two males were put together in the same cage? and my fich is sleeping on this ladder i bought is that ok?
love your vid i want society finches so bad but it's so hard to pick out a pair at the pet stores..lol. cuz the males out shine the females an it's hard to tell whos singing or not..lol
If you want a male and there are alot of similar birds in the cage use a spray bottle. When you see one sing spray it with water then you just catch the wet bird. It marks them and slows them down a little. no harm done, just a little shower.
Hi there, i have a female society and a male white zebra, been together nearly 6 wks and today i noticed 3 little eggs in the nest, so cute, thought it would never happen, hope they make it in life. I also have a male and female zebra finch, been together about 2 months but no eggs from them yet.
Well I would love to see the baby result of those two. Alot of times the eggs might not be fertile though. If u have healthy babies though U cant reproduce through the babies because they will be hybrid...
Sadly :0( only 1 egg remaining, uthas smashed in bot of cage, all got tiny bit of yolk in, wonder if the parents know they aint guna hatch so they discard them.Dont think the remaining 1 is guna hatch. Lets hope they lay again soon and we get at least 1 healthy chick.

hey. the males sing and the females don't. 2 males or 2 females don't matter except 2 females might lay a dozen eggs (unfertilized)

One of my finches keeps on closing its eyes tightly for a long time, and the others seem completely normal, is there anything wrong?

i love society finches....there alot laid back than zebras..i have a male society and a white female zebra....i wonder if they will mate and produce?

Sadly only 3 eggs left now, found 1 smashed in bottom of cage, fingers crossed for the remaing 3.
