The biggest challenge is to engineer a car that goes fast on the track. If you want a fast car on straight line at keast oiver here in the states people buy an old V8 mustang fit a NOS, a drag gearbox and drag radials and you have an extremely fast straight line car, don't need to spend 1.9mil to buy the Bugati.

bugatti is slower in acceleration than zondaR...generally until 160 km/h zondaR is faster...but then cubic centimeter contain of bugatti's engine 16400cc vs 7300cc starts to overtake with top speed...there is no chance for zondaR we are talking about for at least clear 60-80 km/h difference... but wtf where are you gonna run so much..?? zondaR is sexier, zondaR is more expensive, zondaR is a race car...that means more safety and more relaxing driving than a heavy and ugly luxury car... +1 for R.

Yes that's true, but on a straight track there is an exception, because Bugatti has 4 turbochargers, that will make it fly. they only work or to be more accurate works efficiently on high speeds, so on a straight line (at least 1 mile track), Bugatti will fly.

Veyron and CCXR are not even worth comparing to this. There are many differences in the way these cars are designed that make these comparisons pointless. Zonda R is a track car, therefore there is a lot less restrictions to what you can do with the design that affect safety, emissions, sound dampening, tyre usage.etc.... allowing the Zonda R to be a lot lot faster than the other two. The Veyron and CCxR have to cater for comfort, and storage as well. Even low bhp track cars are fucking rapid!

This is car is not made by Mercedes it is made by Pagani. The engine is made by AMG which is the tuning section of Mercedes. Of course the engine is further modified by Pagani. It's a Pagani ! Just beautiful sound.

The engine is not further modified at all. The race spec engines of the CLK GTR naturally sat at 720 -780bhp. just they were detuned to around 600bhp for compliance with race regulations for the GT series. In the CLR (the Lemans clkgtr) they produced 780bhp. Maybe there will be fluctuation of the power output because of the exhausts and air intake changes, but the engine is stock.

Actually it is a Merc engine. It's not the normal Merc engine, but it comes from the 90's Mercedes CLK GTR. It's been updated to produce more power, 739bhp. The reason they chose this engine was because it's a dry sump and will deliver the oil though out the engine more consistently in high G situations that it will be enduring on the track.
