Just played this game for the first time. Tons of fun. This is the first Elder Scrolls I have played and I might download Arena later and buy Oblivion and Skyrim for my Xbox soon.
@299brody if you played back in the 90s you'd have been wising for towns the scale of Skyrim. They quickly became too large and annoyingly complex; you'd usually arrive in town on the opposite end of where you wanted to be.
Form without context, and glad to see Bethesda reversed this. Some of the dungeons could be just as large, complex and sometimes impossible to get out of. It was still the best RPG I'd ever played based on the regional and immense scale of the environment; until Morrowind.
Hmm, I'd love to see remakes of the old Elder Scrolls games (Arena and Daggerfall.) I don't care about the graphics, they're ok, but the UI seems so complicated compared to the newer games (Skyrim PC's UI isn't exactly better though :s) I'd just love to see the story aspect of the games refreshed :)

@900RedChocobo ive checked on wikia,here what i learned,Daggerfall game world is 63,125 square miles,that is 161,600 square kilometres,thats half the size of Great Britain.In Morrowind it's 6 square miles and in Oblivion it's approximately 16 square miles.there is over 15,000 towns,villages,cities and dungeons and there is 750,000 npc's you can interact,while in Morrowind or Oblivion there is around 1000 npc's.to finish Dagherfall you need to visit 6-8 areas,there are 47 areas in totals.

Basically King Lysandus was betrayed on the field of battle as I recall, and as long as this injustice stands unless the player redressed it, he would never rest in peace.
Out of all the Elder Scrolls games, this one is my least favorite. I don't know what it is. It's not the graphics, because I liked Arena. I guess it's that you have to wait to do the main quest. And I'm impatient.
It's hard to imagine that the 4th game in the series was the worst. They got rid of most of the awesome things that were in Daggerfall, and made it all streamlined for the masses, and essentially killed everything that was good about Elder Scrolls. Hopefully Skyrim won't meet the same fate as Oblivion.

What I think is hilarous about this game is that if your a woman and you take your shirt off your not wearing a bra. From what i read this caused a lot of contraversity.

Oh goodness, I remember playing this game many years ago! Really brings back memories of those hours I sat there playing. I did beat the game as I also did the first one.
Couple of questions: 1) The climbing mode, does it activate randomly edpending on your skill level if you hump a wall? 2) Every time I try to be sneaky and break into a home to steal stuff guards mile away hear me stealing someones underwear and come screaming HALT at me. What am I doing wrong? And how do I steal stuff from the shops without being caught.
@DonnZ0r I think the climbing skill determines how fast you climb. Not sure, though.
Usually you can only steal from a closed shop by picking its lock without getting caught unless you click the "steal" button while shopping. The pickpocket skill controls how often you successfully steal.
Kill a random peasant on the street and the Dark Brotherhood will send you a letter with info about joining.
I wish I was already a teenager by the time Daggerfall was out. It would be an awesome experience playing this back in the time. Unfortunately, my ignorance nowadays restricts me from enjoying this...
@Silvade14 I disagree, I was a teenager when Morrowind came out, it was my first Elder Scrolls game and it's still my favorite game of all time, but I still love older games. I feel like there is this issue with our current generation, a failing in imagination, a fear to play things that aren't photo-realistic or don't have amazing physics engines. But games like Daggerfall don't have less than modern games, they have more, if only in the places that count. Story, depth, and characterization.
@BOLTgamer I agree, Portal 2 is amazing, and by modern standards it is extremely creative, but back in the time of Daggerfall, games had to be deep, they had to be creative, because being photo-realistic or having a leaderboard or online matchmaking simply wasn't an option. I feel like in the current generation, we've lost a lot of creativity, we're so placated by shiny graphics or having the achievement points, with our CoD's and MoH's gaming just doesn't feel as rich anymore.
@GamerFTW21 I cant play daggerfall so i wouldn't know :'( but i love morrowind so much more than shitty oblivion, i added alot of mods to morrowind, not many were actually gameplay, though the ones that were really fixed the game, combat, marksman, and magic is completely balanced in my game now :D and you can actually do pure magic or pure marksman and be able to kill things

I downloaded Daggerfall some time ago from the website, and i was like: Yay! Im gonna have sum FUN 2nite!
Then when i pressed the install thingy nothing rly happens except a box saying something about the game doesnt like fullscreen and i was like WTF!? and it doesnt work installing either!

I seriously love the graphics in this game, though Im glad building are NOT made like that anymore, I usually never get lost/confused where i am/how to get to a room. in these early 3D games but this game... I just hate going in buildings...

lol the the first time i played this game i got out of privateers hold at level 3 and had a full suit of elven armour,ebony dagger,1200,and a lot of shit to sell so right when i got out the first place i went to was daggerfall city i hopped the wall and 4 ghosts took my fucking head off 3 seconds later
I hated ghosts and wraiths and, thus, Daggerfall City at night. They always caused my game to crash (of course that's on par for Daggerfall, one of the most unstable games ever created). I always figured they tried to execute an attack the game didn't know how to handle.

@Silvade14 I disagree, I was a teenager when Morrowind came out, it was my first Elder Scrolls game and it's still my favorite game of all time, but I still love older games. I feel like there is this issue with our current generation, a failing in imagination, a fear to play things that aren't photo-realistic or don't have amazing physics engines. But games like Daggerfall don't have less than modern games, they have more, if only in the places that count. Story, depth, and characterization.

@BOLTgamer I agree, Portal 2 is amazing, and by modern standards it is extremely creative, but back in the time of Daggerfall, games had to be deep, they had to be creative, because being photo-realistic or having a leaderboard or online matchmaking simply wasn't an option. I feel like in the current generation, we've lost a lot of creativity, we're so placated by shiny graphics or having the achievement points, with our CoD's and MoH's gaming just doesn't feel as rich anymore.

@XMaster29 Horses are sold at any general store. Ask the people walking around in town where the general stores are.

@GamerFTW21 I cant play daggerfall so i wouldn't know :'( but i love morrowind so much more than shitty oblivion, i added alot of mods to morrowind, not many were actually gameplay, though the ones that were really fixed the game, combat, marksman, and magic is completely balanced in my game now :D and you can actually do pure magic or pure marksman and be able to kill things

Hi! Sorry to bother, but i rly need some help!
I downloaded Daggerfall some time ago from the website, and i was like: Yay! Im gonna have sum FUN 2nite!
Then when i pressed the install thingy nothing rly happens except a box saying something about the game doesnt like fullscreen and i was like WTF!? and it doesnt work installing either!
Would you be so kind to make a detailed video on how you properly installed it? And PM me when its done in that case?

i personally enjoyed all of the Elder Scrolls just because oblivion doesnt have as much content as daggerfall doesnt discredit it from being a great game just like Daggerfall just that you will spend more time on daggerfall then oblivion

I seriously love the graphics in this game, though Im glad building are NOT made like that anymore, I usually never get lost/confused where i am/how to get to a room. in these early 3D games but this game... I just hate going in buildings...

lol the the first time i played this game i got out of privateers hold at level 3 and had a full suit of elven armour,ebony dagger,1200,and a lot of shit to sell so right when i got out the first place i went to was daggerfall city i hopped the wall and 4 ghosts took my fucking head off 3 seconds later

I hated ghosts and wraiths and, thus, Daggerfall City at night. They always caused my game to crash (of course that's on par for Daggerfall, one of the most unstable games ever created). I always figured they tried to execute an attack the game didn't know how to handle.

Ah the shop music/tavern music. I remember depending on what sound card you have or the install size, the music they play are different.

wolverine005 is so right, this game has WAAAAAAAAY more content then oblivion AND morrowind COMBINED!!!!! Its just cause people actually care about the graphics nowadays... Also does anybody know how too look around with your mouse in daggerfall?
