  • Jack White is the Greatest thing that happend to Music

  • cool :)

  • what does this song mean? i heard it on mtvu and the beat was good but like seriously...WTH?

  • @JuicyHabboNuts i think this song is about everyone thinking you are weak and sensitive but you're actually a lot tougher than they think... but at the same time you have flaws and insecurities like everyone else that only people who really know you know about.

  • This is probably one of the best songs I've heard with Jack involved with it. Longing so hard to see them in november. xoxo from Sweden bitches!

  • this guys are way better than limp bizkit

  • @Heaner yes, yes they are.

  • @Heaner - lmao Limp Bizkit is actually being mentioned in a Jack White video. You serious? Limp Bizkit is like a cheap canned beer, and Jack White is like a hundreds-year-old wine.

  • reminds Stranglers song Peaches

  • Totally! I was thinking the same thing!

  • It's a great song. I love it.

  • y'all are crazy. Mosshart can hold her own and take down White any freaking day. Listen to the album, see them live for yourself. No offense, but the recording quality's not the best on here. Nevertheless, listen carefully--the projects don't really sound at all the same. This band is intoxicating.

  • What?

Honsestly, they should have saved this song for the "death vault", and only have brought it out when they croaked and there kids want some cash. I get it, its a shitty in a ga da da vidda. Why do people supprot copyists?

  • You're an idiot. That is all.

  • I've listened to album a few times and its ok but really I get the feeling it's Jack White and friends. I dont get the feeling that this is a specific band that will hold their own down the road. I love allot of the white stripe stuff but it's mainly jack experimenting with different things. Wouldnt be suprised that few months down the road Jack creates yet another band this one he will be playing the base. Guess I will wait for the next white stripes album.

  • Man, I gotta get this album

  • their show at the 9:30 club in DC tonight was amazingly epic! nuff said.

  • nice. I am going to see them Tuesday night. Am glad you enjoyed it. Jack White is making history with his music - how much he ranges it. Anyhow. cool. I saw The Raconteurs and The Kills at the 930 club. and they were both amazing

  • cool stuff, you'll have an awesome time. the band opening for them, screaming females, is also pretty good.

  • I agree with buckeyed - blues based stuff, who wrote what etc doesn't matter and if you're a musician you'll understand this, otherwise you might as well start arguing who's the best rather than who's good.

  • It seems like this is the music that Jack White couldn't make work with the White Stripes or the Racontuers.

  • But I could totally see this song working as a Racs song. I wish he would have just kept the Racs going instead of starting yet another new band. Whats Jack's new band gonna be called in the fall of '10? Im a huge jack fan but I would much rather him progress one great band than keep starting all of these new projects that sound pretty similar.

  • @KablesP

I don't care how many bands he start, as long as he keeps making music!

  • This first show is rough. This is a fantastic song. The album should be fantastic.

  • sounds like this song was influenced by james chance. all music is influenced in some way. i wrote a song the other day and my buddy said "that sounds like an allman bros song, but not exactly" should i scrap it because i started playing something that sounded sort of like something else? f no. its still my work. just like this is still theirs. end.

  • James Chance and the Contortions

  • didnt know he was such a good drummer.

  • he started out his career playing the drums in his basement, he played as drummer for the goober peas

  • seriously, jack can pound some skins

  • TOTAL rip-off of James White and the Blacks and/or James Chance. He owes Chance royalities as much as he does Numan.

  • It sounds sort of like a James Chance song. Are you referring to songs in particular?

  • Got my tickets for the Louisville show on thursday night. I believe this is the 1st show of the tour?? The venue sucks but I've pre rolled some HeadbandKush and I'm ready to go!

  • I'll be there too man...share that shit!!!

  • I kind of love/hate this song

  • i think thats what he was going for....

  • what's to hate?

  • nothing really it's just weird in that jacks voice singing 'I cut like a buffalo' kind of gets stuck in your head and won't leave. I LOVE 60 feet tall and will there be enough water though. damn.

  • dear lord, is that jack lawrence singing? i always thought he was a nerd, but this proved that wrong!!

  • Singing back-up. White is singing the main vocals.

  • nerd? he plays bass in this band and raconteurs and the greenhornes. im pretty sure that makes him a bad ass.

  • a bad ass nerd! with skills to pay bills

  • you're forgetting bass in the do-whaters and banjo in blanche

  • Look like a woman but cut like a buffalo!

  • I got my tickets to see the Dead Weather in Toronto on July 22!!! Gonna need some fat joints for that show!

  • This might be one of those songs which recorded doesn't hold a candle to the live version. I'm thinking Blue Veins.

  • considering Jack's comments on this very song, I think the recorded version will be sensational. "I'm just obsessed with this song, but I'm scared to listen to it at the same time."

If Jack's obsessed with the song, it will be incredible, he'll see to that.

  • So far I have really liked their live sound I hope it translates to the record.

  • oh it will. the recorded material sounds raw as fuck, cant wait for the album.

  • oh lordy, this is good. groovy.

  • Sounds like a Doors cover. That is not a bad thing.

  • Sounds like a Beastie Boys cover. That is not a bad thing.

  • cant wait to see them in minne mn 7/27

  • what a fuckin' greta song

Jack turns everything that he touch in gold

    I WANT THE ALBUM NOW!!!

hope they come to Mexico to show al this people here what ir rock about

  • yeah preferably before you die of swine flu.

  • har

  • lol, nice... I'm from Mexico and I've already went to one of his concerts in San Diego and got his autograph and shook his hand =D

I don't mind if I get the swine flu now

  • Maybe you gave Jack swine flu.

  • nah, I met him BEFORE the whole outbreak!

  • hes my favourite.

  • Look like a woman but I cut like a buffalo

  • lyrics?

  • this song is RAD

  • can't wait for the album!!!

  • billy-bo*

  • the guitar alison has got I think is the guitar used in the another way to die video, and is jacks custom made bo diddley.

  • Actually Jack uses the another way to die bo diddley for the dead weather. The one Alison has is a different bo diddley. Her's is rectangular

  • well spotted

  • Comment removed

  • I've seen a pic of Jack and Alicia Keys where Alicia was holding that rectangular bo diddley. I doubt it's Alicia's so it might be Jack's.(or Alison's)

  • its called a jupiter thunderbird... bo diddley did play one tho.

  • Bo Diddley actually designed it, too. He was the master of weird-looking, cool-sounding guitars.

  • Man that is the best thing ever. A Bo Diddley reference. Spread the knowledge to those who do not know. The less fortunate.

    RIP. Bo Diddley

  • It's Jack's. I read about it somewhere.

  • mm i read NME the othre day and Alison had it on stage...

Though jack used a billy bo jupiter thunderbird custom in the video another way to die, and he sure does love gretch's so it wouldnt suprise me if it was jacks.

  • Dude this is amazing! better than anything else Jack has done i think. wow. im blown away. it has a Doors mixed with Janis Joplin feel.

  • This is making my day...this has such a good vibe to it

  • OH MY GOD I neeeeeeeeeeeed to have them right here right noW!!!!!!

This song is a little bit Talking Heads.......and is it Pink Floyd?...........no something else........BUT WHAT?!

  • I think you're thinking of The Doors ;) ( The Drums and that groovy bassline)

  • i think your right :D

  • James Chance and the Contortions and/or James White and the Blacks. Almost an exact replication.

  • a rip off of the artist in general or one particular song?

  • Vocally and sound-wise, it just sounds lke latter-day funky James Chance doing his own no wave James Brown thing. A rip off of a rip off? Jack def. had his James Chance box set out before he wrote this song.

  • Is AM playing guitar here?

  • that she is

  • Mmm. Never knew she touched an instrument.

  • this was my favorite song of the night......and 60 feet tall

  • Jack white does no wrong......totally amazing.

  • AHHHH... why didnt they do this in Nashville.... You lucky M'F'er... :) Thanks for posting...

  • i know right!?!? if i t was nashville i would have fucking had my happy ass there GOD DAMNIT

  • THANK YOU minniwhite...I tried my best to get tickets, and I'm thrilled that you got to document this for all of us rabid fans who couldn't get in.
