I can bend my finger so it lays on the back of my hand without any pain, is there a technique we can add to this if the person is pain resistant to the finger lock?
lol hey jehovaswitness dude. i've got a pretty good feeling this instructor could you your tire iron. if he went full speed you would need to rewind it about ten times just to get to what finger to grab. first, pull your finger out of your butt, next stick in your mouth, finally fall of tree. repeat. go back to work and make me some more lawn furniture.
YOU CHILDREN EAT THIS SHIT UP, DON'T CHA - LOOK, YOU NEED TO PRACTICE RIPPING OMEONE'S NUTS OUT - SKIP ALL THE FOREHEAD TAPPING, THE FINGER FUCKING, THE PULLING HIM BACK UP FOR A WET KISS - AH YES, REAL KILLERS THE LOT OF YA!
OH, YEAH, THE BEST WAY TO CONTROL SOMEONE'S MIND IS WITH A SEARS ROEBUCK TIRE TOOL - TAKES A DAY OR TWO TO RECOVER FROM THAT.
The instructor's too nice to the uke. He should have at least displayed one good serious appliance to show that the technique doesn't have to be this soft (and thus seemingly so ineffectual).
I like what they showed, though. It seems like something one could use (though I'm not sure about the transition into kotegaeshi; perhaps a pin would be more practical...).
2butane though it may seem similar,Im from Hawaii where Professor Jay started out under Okazaki in Danzan Ryu(My Uncle Sam Luke was appointed professor in 1965).When Jay created Small circle he also did joint seminars with Dillman and Presas, they pooled there knowledge and use interchangeable terms and concepts which Kyushoaikiguy probably received from his Sensei in Kyusho jitsu. The finger locks are also done in Seagal Sensei's Aiki so the similarities are apparent but not ripped off.
Dovemagician, there are very few schools that teach this type of Aikido. There are some schools here in FL that teach similar styles. Where do you live and I'll see if I can find out through my Sensei (Shihan Luis E. Santos Jr) where you can go for a similar style
Very nice. I am enjoying the videos. Been a practictioner for a long time. These are very good and informative. 2 butane Aikido was around before Prof Wally Jay.
um, because i had 2 minutes to get the clip done. I do my best to always give credit where it's due since there is no way i could ever come up with anything new. oh, not to mention that i've never trained with professor jay. sorry to offend you.

I study Seagal's methodology and really enjoy the Professor's instruction. Very similar to what we do

couldn't you do a hammerlock after that pin(seeing as the arm is already bent behind the back)? or is that to vicious and forceful for Aikido?

Many techniques in Aikido are Jujitsu techniques and vis versa. The same mountain is being climbed so who's to say who invented what.

Aikido evolved from Aikijujitsu
All the Aikido techniques originate in Aikijujitsu
some might say that the difference between them is the "Do"(or way)

I have seen that way of kotegaeshi in a lot of segal's demonstrations. Although he does it a bit different.

sounds an awful lot like Professor Wally Jay's Small Circle Jujitsu's finger lock techniques, why not give credit it where its due?
