I've worked in the Agriculture industry and not every animal is treated this way. Yes sadly some slaughter house do treat there animals badly but with people cracking down on it, it will stop. They don't show or tell you that the animal are giving something to knock them out so they wont feel pain or realize what is going on. I have raised and slaughter my own animals.

I think a certain amount of meat in the diet is necessary to maintain good health (especially if your ancestors were meat eaters), but HOW the meat is processed is key as to whether or not I would consume it. The animals need to be treated well while alive AND fed a healthy diet. When it comes time to process them for human consumption, they need to be processed in a way that does not cause them any pain.

@templarterror123 Well actually I am vegan and have no issues with lack of protein or iron or calcium :o the only thing I watch for is B12 and Im fine with that with my diet- I am probably way more active than the average person with 2 jobs (one is more than full time as I am a secondary science teacher (high school) I also have 2 horse am a mountaineer/ climber, paddler, rambler, gymnast and more including the regular day to day life (socialising, cooking, eating, housewk etc)

In GB a lot of soy or animalproducts-replacements are enriched in B12. In Germany they aren't, so there are more uninformed/casual vegans with B12 problems. But that's not something in-vitro B12 can't solve. Interestingly, we produce B12 in our intestines, we just can't get it from there without eating our excrements, which a lot of animals do in fact.
