Why is there a bass player in this one. The bass came from a Mini-Moog that was VG-sequenced from an Oberheim DSX sequencer. The drummer shouldn't be there. The drum sounds came from an Oberheim DMX
Wonderful song from Collins. One of his best! His solo career was better than with the band in my opinion. Sussudio, easy lover, another day in paradise and two hearts are my favourite songs of his. I would love for Collins to come out of retirement soon and come for one more tour down under so I can enjoy some of his great music!
Well I unfortunately missed out living in the 80's (b.1991) but I am glad I can at least glimpse at the decade of good music. Hopefully there will be an 80's revival style of music sometime in the future because I can not listen to the stuff that comes out today.
@kkiinnggyy LOL That's actually Leeland Sklar. No offense to ZZ Top but I think he has the coolest beard in rock music. His family even refers to him as "Father Time". LOL He's also a living legend in the music business. He's composed soundtracks for tv/film & has been one of the busiest session/live bass players over the last 40 yrs. He recently played for Toto but he is best know for working with James Taylor & Phil Collins. Definitely one of the coolest cats in music today.
fuck i hate TOP. it always had the best artists, but always to a fucking playback!!! phil doesnt need a playback of his voice to rock!! i guess TOP never saw phil perform live and they were scared :-S
They don't make music like they used to. The 80s really do rock! I love the 80s so much. No matter how many times I listen to this song, it is still popular and inspiring, even today. In fact, most songs of the 80s have really touching and tight drumming sounds. Great tune! PC also rocks, he has been one of the best singers in music history. Those were the days, unlike nowadays. Thanks for posting. And I thank PC for performing such great music. Susususususususususudio!
Phil Collins said that "Sussudio" is an imaginary girl's name meant to symbolize any girl. The song is about having a crush on someone when one is young.
yes I know ...he's amazing. I've been a fan of his since the late 80s when he released Invisible Touch ..even before then with No Jackets Required too. Simply an amazing musician!
lol duh ....we know he didnt sing live, you can tell. If you watch the actual live concert performances and then this one, its obvious that this is a playback

You don't get more 80's than this. Every little trick in there. classic British act. Superb.
kezadrone 7 months ago
Before writing this song, Phil obviously had spent a lot of time listening to Prince's 1999.

Strange name for a song. But Hey, its a classic.

@CartoonsAndGameShows pretty sure that Phil has said that the song is about a model named "Sussudio"

That's what I call the pop music. And it's made in 1985!!! Amazing! Phil's the man!
Christhjian 2 years ago 13
@Christhjian Very observant of you. This is indeed pop music. And it was certainly made in 1985. And Phil's definitely a man, possibly with a penis.

which is unfortunate because Phil can sing live just nicely as he can sing in the studio ...hate playbacks and lip syncing, such a let down.

yeah....phil is better in live than in studio.....is the best musician-singer of the world...he plays more than 20 instruments!!! great
