  • how much is this rifle?

  • Nice video

  • Answer, where can I get a Marlin Papoose: Dunham's, Dicks, Gander Mountain, Cabela's and many other gun stores. If they don't stocK them, they will order one fron Marlin. You can find a store near you online. It is a good rifle - had one for many years. PS: order a sling with it. stonenstrop

  • What's the intro song?

  • Great review, I am going to try to pick one up for myself.thanks

  • i bought a pack of those cause i that they were a good deal but they kept jaming in my gun

  • why does it sound like a bb gun?

  • @Mr0HeRsHeYs hes probly using shorts and shorts sound like a bb gun

  • Nutnfancy, Love the videos. Can't help but wonder, are you in central Oregon?

  • anyone know where i can get this for about $200??

  • @minkcmusic

In a way yes you do, when you buy the rifle they record the sale and the serial, it's pretty vague. The gov't probably keeps it that way for a reason. Do I think they register them? No probably not. Will they ever? Yes most likely.

  • @enragedcontractor i know in canada there getting rid of the long gun registation so u wont need to register your gun anymore

  • I doubt he lives in California. Especially with half of the rifles he shoots. California has some ridiculous laws, you can't own dirt without registering it here in Cali. Stay out of California!

  • @enragedcontractor Do you have to register a .22?

  • love your vids man

  • AR-7, Nice.

I didn't know they had renamed it.

I have an Iver-Johnson I've had for decades, I love it.

Take it on every camping trip and some hunting trips, depends what and where.

    I use Iron sights.

I have a Ruger Gallery gun too, takes 22 long, short and LR. Awesome fun rifle.

I'm glad to see a review on the small rd gun. I hunt with a 30-06 or a .243 but the AR-7 gets all the action in the down time or after the kill.

    Awesome Shirts too BTW.

The Donation Shell casings are just Genius.

  • @americanbandwidth thats not a ar-7 but looks close

  • @GalaxiesGoblin Ok, I'm glad you told me., I don't want to look stupid...again.

  • Hey Bud I live in Bakersfield I didn't know you could shoot in the dessert, where can i shoot in the desert here in California and not get in trouble.

  • Y is he wearing ear protection if hes outside, and shooting a .22

  • @rudyjr805 Because he is an intelligent man and wants to preserve his hearing, long term. -- Veri

  • @nutnfancy sounds like one of my bb guns

  • @nutnfancy probably trying to avoid "knowitalls" on youtube who would say, "why arent you wearing hearing protection?" lol w.e it is what it is

  • @nutnfancy Intelligent people don't take 20 minutes to do a video thatcould have done in 5 minutes, and better.

  • @rudyjr805 a .22 still makes noise outside

  • @rudyjr805 because he isnt an idiot

  • @rudyjr805 a .22 can still damage your hearing outside.

  • I just picked up a Springfield Arms M6 Scout that I intend to use for my BOB. How would you compare this to thte Papoose? (other than the 410 of course).

  • Hey you suck I can shoot better than you... ha ha just kidding.

  • 500th like!

  • Hey if your interested I found some magazines that fit the papoose...Just google "Marlin 795 High capacity magazine"

  • @NHJordan There 25 rounds each!

  • I bought a new 70PSS on the strength of this review (and not being able to afford a new Marlin 39A.) Those rear iron sights move laterally, way too easily when you're packing the gun. I'm looking for a subsonic that it'll cycle reliably -- CCI subs fail nearly 1 in 10. Great with CCI minimag, tho. But it packs up small, cheap to buy and so inexpensive to run.

Just back watching this video to see how well nutnfancy did accuracy-wise. Seems I suck just a little bit more than he does. ;)

  • awesome rifle

  • Awesome gun! Extremely lightweight and very fun to shoot. I love to take this hunting with me because you can pack it all night while you shoot coons. 3 lbs. can be a big deal. I bet this gun would be very comfortable in a single point sling compared to my Henry .22 which is pretty heavy compared to this gun.

  • I had a AR 7 receiver blow up when I was 8. I was fine but scared the crap out of me. I hope they are more reliable now; but, I am not willing to find out. I might have to check out the papoose though. nice review.

  • My first rifle was a ruger 10/22 it's an amazing rifle. I have a wooden rifle stock with a 3-9x40 scope, then a tactical folding stock with a 25 rd banana clip and a eotech holosight and a flip up magnifier

  • wheres ur forearm stock?

  • lmao hearing protection with a 22

  • Thanks for this video. I was looking specifically for a survival .22 with a grooved receiver for a scope and the papoose was the front runner. I'll let Marlin know that you sold me on this little rifle...

  • the videos are appreciated.

  • How many yards can you comfortly shoot at? max?

  • the one thing i hate about most .22s and marlin has got to be the worst is the crappy mounting sytem for the rings why cant they make dovetail mounts for a .22 like on high powered rifles i know that the recoil is non existant but still i have the rings mounts come undone before just saying it would be nice ,and nutn i believe the reason that its so accurate is becasue it dosent have a stock going all the way out ie no sideways preasure being exurted on the barrel as it vibrates

  • 10 guy with .22 rifle against a guy with a magnum or a shotgun... who win?

  • @SoulDalto while dirty harry brings his magnum up to fire you have already poped 3 or 4 rounds into his body which tend to richocet threw the body tumbling and tearing up organs as it goes so one shot from a shotgun or handgun vrs 3 or 4 shots from the no recoil .22 id say .22 wins

  • hey, i know this is a 22 but do you not need a license for that? also what kind of ammo is that? ive only shott with 22 pellets before.

  • @ZeRoXcentral Boy, this is a real gun, not an air rifle. These are .22LR rimfire rounds, and you need a real gun license for one of these babies.

  • Y do u need ear muffs

  • @nutnfancy You should empty out the stock an make a kit for it ammo, rods, cloths, well if used as a survival rifle.

  • Could you use this for small game such as, squirls, coyotes, rabbits, racoons? Where did you get it?

  • i slay rats with that gun

  • how much does the marlin papoose .22 go for? roughly

    thanks,

  • @tasoulinh I think it's around 250.

  • I have a 4 power scope on my marlin model 60 a 4-16x40mm scope (overkill)

  • Loves shooting and also likes his kids knowing how to! Awesome!

  • cool nice gun in great condtion

  • Comment removed

  • after having watched thid vid I realize your old man must have been a very good teacher..lucky you...my old man was a douche

  • llllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll

  • Lol at 10:04 "cheapo"

  • veri or nutn, would you prefer this gun or the ruger 10/22?

  • When I was a kid we had a Charter Arms AR-7 that was super reliable. That one would have been made in the late seventies or early eighties and it was great. I understand that they're probably not so great anymore...

  • I just got a Marlin today :D I can't wait till i can shoot it!!!

  • @C0llateralDamag3 is it really that quiet when you fire it, I saw a video of the same gun in youtube, it fires so loud?

  • I love the color of that barrel in the Papoose.

  • Minus the barrel the gun looks a lot of the ruger 10/22

  • what state are you in?

  • you can shoot anything with this they will all laugh at you

  • @MrSmithyistheman so, you want to take a Velocitor .22 to the head? or the torso. you will definatly bleed out if shot placement is right

  • @ToAstYNaChO im sorry do i no you haha oj . no doubt buddy :)

  • The .22 is a good caliber but it is not reliable to shoot humans with. Lethal out to a 100 yards? Well shot placement is important and it is reasonable that it would kill someone at 100 yards. Rabbits squirrels and other small game good choice. Seen to many soaked up by people and they never slowed down.

  • Is that near Flagstaff?

  • It seems like federal fixed up their rimfire ammo because I was using the 795 at the range the other day at about 30 yards with groups a bit tighter than that with a 4x scope and in 350 rounds, I didn't have one defective shell, which was nice.

  • Can somebody please tell me of a way to mount a scope to the Papooses barrel?

  • @Montyfiable Most .22s have a grooved top receiver. Scope - $15 to 25 - clamps in the grooves easily. I recomend a Williams (Davison Michigan) scope or better yet a Williams peep sight. Check the internet. I have used both options on my Marlins. If you get a gun with only two screws tapped into the receiver you can get a 5-6" bar that will screw into the receiver that accepts the clamped type scope. Get the bar from Marlin, Williams or your local gun shop. stonenstrop

  • Such a horrible caliber

  • @herbertmoon11 How?

  • @Montyfiable Weak

  • @herbertmoon11 Its cheap, accurate, within reason. Additionally, I wouldn't want to stand in front of one. Name a better cartridge for pest control. Or a cartridge that is quieter and still lethal to a human up to 100 yards.

  • @Montyfiable ak47

  • @herbertmoon11 Quieter? No. Cheaper? No. Good for pest control? No. And an AK47 isn't even a caliber. Are you referring to 7.62x39?

  • @Montyfiable *successful trollface*

  • @herbertmoon11 What?

  • @AmazingSuperStar1. It really depends on what you use it for, but I would say yeah. I own a papoose myself , and it's a very practical gun

  • get a 10/22 its the real thing not a knock off wanna be

  • @Mr22shooter used to have couple of 10/22's, Ruger, that is... not really a fan of the semi auto, fussy about the ammo used I found, bolt action with the heavy hammer forged barrel was nice, but quite alot heavier that this rather good looking rifle. but, hey, thats just my opionion man :-)

  • @bikertrashice mabie it was the m6 scout rifle

  • I remember a breakdown rifle in the Air Force - it was packed in the airplane. I think it was a 22. I do not know the make.

  • does it have enough power to be lethal ?! and for what range?

  • you suck, I can do so much better

  • I might need to find a light weight workable hunting gun or survival gun. If i ever do plan on doing long range expeditions, as appose to short and medium expeditions. Note expeditions i mean backpacking trips on foot that can go from 30 miles one way to 100, for just short ones.

  • you call that a gun???

  • "go ahead, go out to your desert" HAHA, i love nutnfancy videos. one of the best reviewers on the net.

  • a 22 isnt loud at all.. especially after shooting a 12 guage with no ear protection

  • would you recommend this over the ruger 10/22?

  • for when the squirrels attack...

  • A 22.LR can kill u :P

  • @nbmanno i got attacked by a squirrel once XD

  • wow no recoil, like a bebe gun lol

  • at how many metres or yards can you shoot with this?

  • Can anyone tell me how much a brick (500) of .22 ammo costs in the US? Curious as to how cheaper it is over there than here is Aus.

  • @Brendan1470 i picked up a pack for around 15 bucks

  • @Sgtrambom60 probably freehand and bipod

  • my first gun as a kid in the late 80's was a marlin papoose wood stock with a blued barrel shot a ton with it i now own a 10/22 but i do miss my old papoose its really light and compact

if you want a plain 7 shot 22 for use go with the papoose

if you want a 22 that you want to deck out with aftermarket parts go 10/22

  • this or the ruger 10/22??

  • Nice review nutnfancy. Send me one of them papooses wuldya? Lmao

  • I couldn't agree more with you on the magazine issue. Marlin should make a 15 round clip or even a 30 round clip would be nice.

  • @dungpile350 I know some sites online like Midway USA or Cheaper Than Dirt they do sell 7rd, 10rd, and 15rd plated magazines and a company called Shooters Ridge does make a polymer 25rd magazine but it has got some mixed reviews. But I am fortunate enough to have a local gun store that carries them. Just thought you should know in case you were still in the market for them.

  • @Spectre0160 I have the Shooters Ridge 25-round mag and I have to say I'm underwhelmed. The extra capacity is nice, but it frequently misfeeds.

  • my grandpa used to hunt deer with my .22 when he was like really poor and needed food

  • this rifle is made for killing paper and rabits, just like every other 22

  • I know I don't get groupings like that from my Henry at 25 yards hmm

  • do they have folding stocks for these marlin rifles? you could get it really small with that :)

  • i like this, you should check out the us survival rifle

  • Enjoyed the review plus with the new review on the Marlin 795 makes this a no brainer.

  • This is a great rifle, the only problem I have with mine is that it is hard to hold it while firing from a standing or kneeling position.

Although considering it is a full "survival rifle" then it is of much better quality than the Henry AR 7.

The AR 7 is great because of the design, unfortunately it is not as well made as the Papoose.

  • @DownOnwax

I say it is hard to hold because of the short stock, just like nutnfancy was talking about.

    Just me though :)

  • you need to review an ar-7

  • I'm impressed with this .22 in particular. Might look it up.

  • Great job Jr! kudos to you nutnfancy for doing a great job teaching Jr to shoot.

  • he's wearing ear protection for a .22 o.O

  • You're videos are WAY too long, man!

  • How does the 795 compare to this?

  • @ghostofpaulrevere The papoose is pretty much a 795 with a removable barrel. The receiver is the same on both guns.

  • no survival rifle should have a scope!!! irons, teach the kid to shoot with the irons.

  • Wish he would acknowledge the 795 most of his criticisms were "solved" in the 795, ie full stock, readily available, etc.

  • Great video I owned the Henry arms version Ar-7 for many years and would not recommend it to anyone! It is a Jam machine and is waterproof only when floating independently on the surface I'll be doing a review/warning video soon

  • Is it ammo sensitive? I mean, are there any preferences regarding ammo in your opinion for this particul model? Great shooting by the way.

  • Does it still fit in the carry case with the scope on it?

  • Right on! thanks! i was looking for info on this gun, cause this might be my first gun! thanks dude! you rock!

  • not to be a douche but if you want to teach every shot counts shouldn't you use a bolt action single shot? atleast thats how i was taught and i think its a pretty good method

  • @Clayboy1998 Stick to video games, Clay... -- Veri

  • @nutnfancy ... I hope you don't take it that all of us gamers are of his level. Then again, it is bound to happen sooner or later here on the internet.

  • @SamPD2 Heck no...I know some cool gamers. This guy is a really young kid..I don't think he knows any better. -- Veri

  • @Clayboy1998 It's like putting on a seatbelt you do it every time you shoot.

  • @Clayboy1998

Numbnuts, the idea is to get the kid to get used to wearing the ear protection, not because he may actually need it for shooting a 22 rifle. And I bet his son can shoot 10 times better than you.

  • @Clayboy1998 a .22 can damage your ears, too

  • @dustin74669 especially when you get shot.... in the ear...

  • @Clayboy1998 oh my gawd enough msg i dont care

  • @Clayboy1998 dude your so cool u dont wear ear protection. i bet ur so cool u dont wear a seatbelt too! and so cool u dont wear a helmet on a motorcycle. obv ur so cool u complain about a pre adolescent learning how to shoot. omg ur cool factor is epiccc! d-bag.

  • @Clayboy1998 what did you say? :D

  • How much did it cost?

  • earprotection for a .22, haha

  • @everettwilliams31 Thompson contender in .300 win mag for CCW! It'll take down the robber behind the robber behind the bank vault.

  • A BOY gun, fer boys, men shoot 300 win mags one handed without girly ear protection..

  • @everettwilliams31 I shot the .308 once in a fairly enclosed environment without ear protection, and never want to do that ever again. ;)

  • how much is this ???

  • what the hell is a papoose!?

  • @nateyboy1156 its the gun

  • @joshebizonline okay, but what i mean is i have a marlin 22. semi-auto. so why is mine not called "papoose"? obviously the guns are different, but what is this "papoose"?

  • @joshebizonline haha ic your point, well i cant answer :)

  • I have this gun and LOVE IT

  • lol! I can shoot waaaaay better than that! hehehe. nice gun, I want one.

  • your kid cant shoot for shit XD

  • @sparkanotherblunt your ego feel better now??? He is young.. but because he is learning from a young age... if he continues.. you could see him in the olympics... i dont think there is a pipe big enuf for u to shove that in and smoke.

  • @TheKodiak72 ya there is. it's a one hitter.

  • wish i could get one

  • @gabegrant1 good laugh.

  • I'd still buy a ruger 10/22 over this. My friend owns a papoose and the first time he took it out, it broke. Sure it's lightweight. That's because some parts that probably shouldn't have been made out of aluminum, were made from aluminum. Plus, this Papoose is about $240 and 10/22's will pretty much always be $160-200. You're pretty much paying for an over priced break down .22

  • @DerkaDog Really? Cheepest 10/22 I have found up here is $265 and is over priced. I own a Marlin 60 that is more accurate then any ruger 10/22 I have ever shot and I have shot quite a few. Just because your buddy bought a lemon doesnt mean they are all like that. I know a guy who bought a ruger 10/22 that has been the biggest pile of shit I have ever seen but I have the fore sight to know that not all 10/22s are lemons like his. Also all new Marlins are now made by Remington now just FYI.

  • This is just a fun question but can a .22 rifle kill zombies and help me survive May 21st?

  • @loliamapie a .223 can kill someone, thats a .22 calibre weapon. shoot a .22LR from within 50 yards.. youll kill someone. you only need like 200lbs of energy to break human bone.

  • @TheKodiak72

Lol well May 21st never happened (Which everyone knew that it well never happen) But thank you for that info...

  • If you were to use .22 shorts, though it is a LR, could it possibly do damage to the rifle? thanks

  • @L1NG4N in a semi auto. the short properlly doesnt have enuf energy to cock the mechanism. in a lever or bolt. if its a .22LR gun, you can fire .22 long, short, CB short no props but semi autos need certain amount of energy to recock it.

  • Saw this video about 2 years ago, and it was good then and still is. Great gun from my personal shooting w/ it.

    Planing on getting one!

Anyone see other mags for the gun?

    Thanks Nuttn

  • They should make a bolt action .22 just like this. In a survival situation a bolt action is better, because they are A LOT more reliable and very easy to clean. If Marlin makes a bolt action .22 that splits in two just like this, I would buy it.

  • @a2redneck i have a bolt marlin but its not a break barrel

  • @bungholio13tp thanks for sharing.

  • @bungholio13tp LMFAO NO BOLT ACTION IS A BREAK BARREL,, THINK ABOUT IT,,, 2 COMPLETELY DIFFERENT COCKING MECHANISMS

  • The Marlin Papoose is a great little camp/survival gun. I had one years ago and have a Henry AR-7 now and out of the both I think the Papoose is much better accuracy and feeding also. The Marlin will feed just about anything. But keep in mind as with all rifles the barrel removes from like the Papoose or Henry AR-7 its impossible to assemble it exactly the same each time meaning nailing it down in sighting will always change due to micro changes unlike a regular long rifle.

  • i would like to shot myself in the face everytime you talk

  • I don't get the fixation on the hearing protection...Who cares if he wears hearing protection?

  • your in Utah correct? 22s out in the desert are quieter than the sound of the firing pin whats with the hearing protection?

  • My Henry AR-7 works great. I wouldn't trade it for a Papoose.

  • i recommend the rossi matched pair 22lr/.410 youth model. its around $100 hallow butt you can put extra rounds/ multitool/ ect.. break action on it makes FTF rare
