I purchased this video and it was excellent. It contains many scriptures and references to Jesus life and acts. It was theologically sound and enlightening. It brought me closer to God and made me realize his place in my life with a new reality. I am greatly distressed that 'fellow' Christians are criticizing this media. If you want to fight then fight for our rights and take on the politicians.

Rob does preach the gospel. Visit his church sometime or listen to a podcast. I can guarantee you he reads out of the Bible and prays to a resurrected Jesus.

Excellent speaker for sure! But I thought that this was from his Christian video series? Doesn't that mean he should be talking about Christ?

It is. Nooma actually means "spirit" or "breath." This is just a sample of the whole video. The rest of it show how it ties into Christianity and faith.

When Christ spoke he didn't talk about himself all day. It was his heart to make sure that everyone that heard him speak knows his, maybe by stories and analogies. So how do you address Christianity to a culture that knows the structure of the religion so well but not really the heart of Jesus..? By continuing to talk about the stories>? well actually yes, and relating them to our modern time,.. which rob bell actually does very very well in these videos..

I do think that he is a little conceded because he is just like every other 'speaker' at a "mega church" it's all "purpose driven" and his goal is to make money and be famous, obviously hes already made it there.

I really don't think so. Rob is a very humble guy who lives in one of the poorest sections of Grand Rapids. These Nooma videos are mainly funded by donations and not proceeds. He's not out to get people's money or awe.

You also "see nothing about God or Jesus in this video" because you are merely listening for the words. All truth is God's truth. Remember it was the Israelites who longed to be back in Egypt while they wandered in the desert. Too many Christians long for the past. Maybe it was your college days, or the times you had with a spouse, friend, or parent who has passed on.

If we can't focus on the present we can't realize the blessings God has in front of us because we are blinding ourselves with our pasts. Although there is no explicit mentioning of God or Jesus, Rob's words speak of His desire for our lives.

All the Nooma videos come with discussion books (pdfs available on website) that provide TONS of Scripture references and questions. Just because he's not quoting it for you chapter and verse doesn't mean it's not there.

Thanks Rob Bell, God has used this guy to lead me to God. I remember watching the first video (RAIN) that this friend brought to class and after watching that video and watching my friend's real christian behavior, i accepted Jesus.

Let me remind you that the gospels weren't even written until many decades after Jesus's death. Most people found out about Christ in those times orally. Be careful how you phrase things. It does not say "Word of God" there.
