  • I'm in the same boat as you ChriiCritic, i'm looking to upgrade the RAM of my stock 2011 macbook pro 15 inch, but i'm not sure whats the best and most reliable brand to get, some help would be appreciated.

And do you have to do anything once the new RAM is installed? or does the macbook realise itself that there is more RAM installed and justifies things by it's self?????

  • Please-- someone link a tutorial to fix his awful hair.

  • does anyone know if it works with one 8GB module + 2GB module = 10GB ?

  • @mtsmello Macbooks' of the 2011 era can have a maximum of 8GB or RAM installed

  • you look like a fag

  • @jjjjoohhnnyy Believe me... a fag would never, ever... have a hair like that.

  • press 3 to see 2 headed ghost.

  • do u prefer Crucial or Corsair... ive heard they are both good but what is better for the money?

  • hahah pause at 0:00

  • Whats your brother going to do with his old ram? Give it to the fish?!?

  • lol haircut

  • good job

  • how do did u get 940 subscribers with only 12 videos???

  • Does this void your warranty?

  • @Arttumon confirmed with a 'genius' at the apple store yesterday that it does not, however they will only install it for you free of charge only if you buy the RAM from apple

  • Hey di chrii, maybe it would have been clever if you would have said the audience that you maybe never touch the golden plates because that might mess up the ram and by the way I had installed mine (OWC ram) a few days ago and what I did is I got a nylon pry tool and disconnected the battery connector (even though not really necessary but would have been clever if you did that too) nice video though and you did a good job on recording it and explaining the rest ;)

  • hey nice vid did you notice much of a performance enhancement ?

  • i think I going to upgrade ram for the hell of it pretty soon

  • HAHAHAHAHHA PAUSE THE VIDEO RIGHT AT THE START!!!!!!!!

  • @Mazdex23 xDDDDDD

  • HE'S TALKING OMG!

  • OMG he's actually commenting!!!

  • 8GB Ram is un-needed space for a Macbook.... The most you will ever need is 4GB..... Not trying to troll but its true.

  • @Mazdex23 uneeded? currently i have 6.9gigs of ram being used lol. 4 is definitely not enough for me. Also the performance in finalcut and after effects have increased tremendously with the 8gigs

  • @ChriiCritic Oh wow do you game or just have nice programs like FCP and iMovie that need a lot to run?

  • @Mazdex23 with just FCP, browser, ichat, twitter and parallels for windows 7 (no programs running in windows), its already taking up 6-7gigs which leaves me 1-2gigs left. Before i would have to close out individual apps to fasten up my computer. Now its speedy :D

  • @ChriiCritic Well if you have extra ram your going to use it whether you need it or not. Like the Twitter app you dont need it but if you have extra ram you will find a way to use it its like money if you have $1,000 but only need 500 you will find a way to use the other 500...

  • @Mazdex23 well like im a filmmaker and thats my major and job so when i edit, i always use a certain amount of programs like fcp, color, convert etc which take up ram. and for only 65 bucks its really not a hard decision to upgrade

  • @ChriiCritic Well I agree with you there. this is your way to make people happy :D

  • in the description dont you mean 2x4?

    Im thinking of upgrading my imac from 8gb (2x4) to 16gb (4x4) <--- overkill i know :P

  • ouch :3 atleast it'll go fast!

  • Firsto!
