@ricee87 What an odd thing to say! There have been Asian-Americans, African-Americans, etc. on the U.S. TAR- why should people have to look a certain way to represent their countries?
@ethrush Not odd at all..? Because the US is a melting pot of different races, that's why there's different people on the show. It's an insult that those white people are representing the country especially when they weren't even born there. You can immediately catch their UK/Australian accent or wherever they came from. Anywho TAR/TAR-ASIA are the best reality game shows!
@ricee87 What an odd thing to say! There have been Asian-Americans, African-Americans, etc. on the U.S. TAR- why should people have to look a certain way to represent their countries?
@taetaeWL 1: the role the bible has in the hyrarchy. in christianity word of god in form of bible is nr 1 authority. in the catolism church, bible and traditions all share equal power.
second difference is how they 'approach' God. christians pray straight to God, catolics often use intermediates like praying to maria, or other holy figures. main diffference: catolics see themselves as people on their way to redemption, christians see themselves as redemeed by Jezus crucifiction
@taetaeWL but both christianity as catolism come from origin from an elder form of christianity, but their ways split a long time.. on important points so difference that often catolism and christianity are considered different
Catholicism and Christianity literally refer to the same thing. The way to distinguish between groups is where their authority/governing body is. Hence the terms "Roman Catholic or "Russian Orthodox" or "Southern Baptist".
@smartwarlord the common origine lays to far apart to say they are the same.. they refer to the same thing, yes. jewism (?) split earlier.. but if you go deeply into theology and church history, then you can even say that all religiion do have the same origine. all world religion show remarkable simalarities. check for instance all religions on the origine of the earth. almost all well tell a story about land created afterr water or from water.
Your English is really bad.... I was not going to say anything but you sound like a child. It's not "Jewism" it is Judaism. (ie, the beliefs of Judah/Israel)
The "remarkable similarities" you speak of are not remarkable if you claim that that all religions share parallels. That would make it NORMAL to see these.
well i think my english beats your dutch, some people are not native english.. and about 15 years ago i just managed to get a passinggrade in highschool. so yes my english is not as good as that of many others.. yet in this case its because i didn't check spelling and or translations. here in holland there are two ways to refer to judaism : jodendom en judaisme... first one refers to the people and translated that indeed is not jewism, but jewry. judism refers to their believe
By default of course, if I spoke Navajo the same would be the case. I have never met someone who spoke Dutch, I have not yet been to the Nederlands, and they don't teach Dutch in schools here. So how on Earth would I learn Dutch or even want to? Especially when, as you make clear - you Dutchmen learn English so we Americans don't have to learn your tongue.
Were you better in French or German? or did you only take English?
@smartwarlord ;) exactly, but even when taught a second or third tongue they will (in most cases) never sound or look native. my english passively is about 95% (understanding both reading as audio), speaking its about 70%, writing was about 35% (never got the hang of grammar), nowadays when concentrated, people say its around pre graduate highschool level (here that would mean a passing grade of about 75%).
That's a lot better than most Americans. The vast majority of Americans are unable to learn any additional languages in school. Some can't even learn English properly.
@smartwarlord german was my better language passed with an average of 80% (writing again least with 60%, but audio and reading were 96% already in highschool). grinn french i dropped after two years, it was dreadful, more a beta and fact spongue then a language girl
@smartwarlord even Darwinism (so evolution and not religious) shows the same patern as the story of the origine of the world according to the bible... darkness, light, water, land, plants, animals, human etc.. when comparing the both they even can be 'believed' next to each other, cause the bible even mentions that one day to god can be like millions (?) to mankind.
so shared stories or thoughts do not immediately indicate the are the same or close.. the more in common the more close we are
Wow - $100,000? That's only 1/10 the prize of TAR. I guess they can say that the trip itself is half the prize. I've said this before, I'll say it again - I LOVE Stentilyzier! I've been able to catch up on all Survivor seasons and all TAR seasons from the beginning of the shows. (I only started watching them a couple of years ago.)Whoever he is / she is / they are, thank you, and keep posting!
Having lived in China and Japan and having visited the Philippines a few times, this Asian Amazing Race is going to be more interesting to me in some ways than TAR. I look forward to watching these teams compete.
I was thinking I was going to be going through TAR withdrawal having watched every season (except all-stars) but not anymore. If I'd known this was in English, I would've looked for it a lot sooner.
Yay! Phil with a tan! Cracking me up how the wording/music is EXACT to the American version. Looks to be very interesting and I'm excited to see a different version.
who is refer this particular person? what I have only know that JOE & BILL is the Catholic. I have seen them signing of the cross from the season 11 All Star at Poland.
yeah baby amazing race, i dont care what country its from i love the show, im glad they are speaking english though so i can know what they are saying.
Yes, but many of these people are clearly not from Asia. I recognise a lot of Australian and English dialects here. Most are probably born in whatever country they're representing but it's clear that many have been raised overseas as well. I don't know whether this is done on purpose or not... maybe it is, to get a good standard of English. :/
Andy and Laura, you are VERY lucky. You are on the Amazing Race!

@my2cents2u a lot of Asians I've met from outside the US assume that Christians = Protestants while Catholics are different.
KumaKun 1 year ago
@my2cents2u except that many christians (protestants) see catholics in a different branch because many of their customs and beliefs are different.
