@sndsofscnce haha. nah dude....2:10-3:05 is definitely the best part of the song. i just love that whole riff where the lead is being played, then the bass comes in, then the rhythm. man...the satellite years is such a great album..
i miss when hxc was like this, it all sounds the same now, back in the day every band had an identity and a breakdown meant something , i feel like bands do it now just to sound hard...miss stuff liek this
@TheChrisIsCool I totally agree with you,I'm a drummer and i was in a band for 3 years and they really wanted to focus on homogenizing with all the bands that are popular today,i always criticized that and i ended up leaving the band for that matter. out of nowhere,i met some musicians that digged my old band but was more into hopesfall and the old hxc scene. we ended up in a jam session and now we just recorded our first song. Old hxc is what drove me into hardcore and i will always live for it
@iamhxc loved how the whole album had no repeating parts but all the songs sounded coherent and amazing. never heard ne thing like it maybe mars volta but thats it.
this was the time when i was listening to hopesfall, and i have not pulled that cd out in ages. this is the first time in years i have listened to this song and i absolutely love it. i got to see them with shai hulud and remembering never back in the day when birch hill night club was still around in jersey. one of the best shows i have EVER been to.
I was lucky enough to see hopesfall a few times during this period they were amazing. Also people should check out the earlier stuff too its really great. People need to stop trying to put little labels on things, the bands themselves never do, its all hardcore, we're just lucky that theres variety for everyones different tastes. I have to say personally that a year or 2 after this album things started to change a lot in general with hardcore and I started to get sick of how things were.now.psch
I understand dude...and I'm glad your civilized about it :D I just don't like chumps coming into our scene (no matter how old or young) suddenly claiming they "know" what they're talking about. Your precisely right right with metalcore is a branch and that's what most of these chumps wanna argue about. Someone over on another youtube said that Pantera was comparable to .hopesfall. ....... and don't get me started on the old Vs. new .hopesfall. .... LOL
i saw there at hellfest when most of this was taped. It was the most amazing set i'd ever experinced. At the end when we were holding him up was like a divine experince to me. I looked around and people were crying. I naturally started to as well. I loved hardcore music.
Nice time bro...but this is metalcore...not hardcore. Hardcore is old school hardcore punk (Bad Brains, Black Flag, Circle Jerks, Agnostic Front, Madball, Sick of it All, etc...)
i understand that, but really metalcore is just a branch of the bigger tree. I've been into hardcore since 99. I'd rather not get a history lesson. I was in the albany scene for bands like okd, down foundation, strife. I know what hardcore is thanks. =)
This is pure Harcore in the metal scene , You can call it metal core if you want but i see metal-core as a different genre , more like Parkway drive , shredding rifts whit incoming break down. Only my point of view. Because Hardcore style is in every genre , Metal , punk , rap and Techno. So pure hardcore is defined by the style its in first. Thats my point of view not a fact tho.
Yeah a lot of people say metalcore. I guess due to some of their songs having quasi-breakdowns. I dunno. This is more like post hardcore/rock to me, but genres are useless mostly. It is just good music.
how i miss the satellite years. too bad the vocalist had delusions of grandeur and thought he could actually start singing properly. oh and they pretty much replaced everyone in the band after that cd didnt they? what a shame
ever wake up in the middle of the night and feel like the world isnt there anymore? like a holocaust came while you were sleeping? i wish i could sleep...
satellite years is definitely the best but their old stuff is pretty good as well. Magnetic North sounds like they put in a Blindside cd and just did cover songs.
Hey guys Yesterday we made our first demo , hopesfall is one of our influence and we'd really like to know what you think about us. Just go on our chanel to see them , give us your opinion even if its bad.
i wouldnt go as far as to say what delirium did but they definitely took a turn for the worse trustkill and victory used to both be top dogs that you can guarantee almost any band they put out was going to be worth listening too but things have definitely changed
I said you MIGHT like them. Don't go all crazy cause I have different taste than you because I gaurantee you no one in this world likes everything you like.
It really hurts, knowing that we'll never hear those marvelous melodies anymore. Joshua was my mentor, my example of artistry and the absolute of inventiveness. Same as Jay "(..)dressed up to
lay to rest a feeling from the
inside helps us get back to(...)" - I always hum that melody wherever I go :) I bet u all know the song. If they won't return despite all those hard feelings I will never forgive them xD They have fans who love them
I hate all this talk about how they suck because they don't pump out stuff like their early stuff. Get over it. Quit trashing them and move on to whatever else you want.
I love Satellite Years and No Wings To Speak, but Magnetic North and A Types are amazing. Magnetic North was a fantastic finish to them.
