Kind of sad anyone got fooled by that - the play looked like a rollout pass at first, so nobody should have stopped playing pass defense anyway except the containment guy.
I would call that a screen making all the D-Linemen come trough and he throws the ball directly to the reciver who gets it, cause it wasent a forward pass, the reciver was legally allowed to pass to the other reciver so he could score a TD, any team could do it...
I am guessing that they called a tackle eligible play before the ball was snapped, if not then the play would be dead for illegal touching of the ball by the lineman.
once when i played junior high school we did a trick play that worked so well the ref blew the whistle when he thought the ball carrier was down and we got a 80 yrd run called back
Why more teams don't use a lineman to throw a forward pass is beyond me. It gives you an extra eligible receiver!!! Instead of 5 you get 6!!!! And who the hell would ever think a lineman would throw a pass??!?!? Or even get a lateral for that matter. A play like this would work every time as long as the lineman has a good arm.
you dont know shit about football you stupid fuck.........a flewa flicker is when the qb hands it to the running back and then the runningback pitches it back to the qb and he throws it
it is common but they made it rare. its rare becuz its the first throw ever by a left tackle, a touchdown at that. its common cuz ppl always throw it to a different person other than the Rb or QB for a pass. nice catch and run thoe.
P.S.- Left tackles can be useful other than for blocking
I never thought about the left tackle passing the ball.
Only play I saw like that was Kentucky vs S.Carolina(I think) where the QB passed it to the WR(who was a former QB) who passed it from the 40 yard line.
The official yardage was 22, but seeing as he ran pretty far back, I'd say it was about 40.
why didnt them dumbasses pressure the throw or even try to tackle him at 27? i know they didnt want him to run it but they knew he was gunna pass it again
"Use it all the time". WHAT? Where is that done "all the time"? I've been watching the NFL, College Football, etc. almost my whole life and I've seen that only a handful of times.
wow im surprised that nobody thought that this was illegal...usually there are a lot of dumbasses that don't know what they're talking about posting comments here...great play
dude, thats nothing like a flea flicker, in a flea flicker the running back takes the hand off and pitches it back to the QB then the QB throws it., in this the QB throws it back to what looks like was the tight end and he thrwos it to the WR

Sick move down the sideline to get into the endzone.

It is a lateral...so you don't have to call a tackle eligible play (which is illegal in college football)

Knights is right, anyone is eligible to receive a backward pass.
