Dubstep Bassline using Xbox Kinect

ugh. So wanted to try this. got everything ready, downloaded all the stuff, (not a n00b at DAW software so i knew what i was doing there.) Tried plugging in the kinect and then i realized the USB plug for it is slightly different. It wont fit on my laptop. lol. What adapter do u need for it?

@DrFakeandGay44 Yo. Kinectar just turns your Kinect into a MIDI controller. The toolkit doesn't actually make any sounds itself. Subscribe to my channel as I'll be releasing some tutorials in the next few days and possibly some Ableton Live sets that work with the Kinectar presets. So if you have Ableton Live and a Kinect, the rest of it is totally free :)

@sgtzac1 I too was once small-minded like you, but I grew to enjoy dubstep. A two step beat most of the time and strong emphasis on the bass. It's not a simple wubwub in most cases, as the bass wobble is an additive to the beat. I also personally really like strong bass in music, and a really gritty, nasty sound from the bass is invigorating. Go listen to some Skrillex.

@World0fDubstep this is done by using a very early version of my own custom toolkit developed on max/msp, and it's not perfect, but there's plenty of free programs out now that do this if you want to try yourself - try searching "Shinect" or "Kinect Synapse". it's completely possible and the video is very real.

Gotta say it's fake. Too many hand motions and the skeleton tracker he's using doesn't even recognize his hand as a different joint location. All he's doing is dancing in sync with some dubstep song using a kinect skeleton tracker. Want to see the released software for this and maybe more than just a person dancing around. Maybe what is being recognized by each motion, given if it really is real.

@kmarcum41689 i have to agree. There are times when the music is wobbling and the hands seem to control it - and other times when the music is wobbling and the hands are doing NOTHING.

@roidroid I can either do a 'wobble' manually with my left hand's Y axis (filter), or just use the Y and Z axis of my right hand to control LFO modulation speed and depth respectively. So I don't actually have to be moving my hands to create the 'wobble', if I have my hands in the correct place, it will wobble using the LFO on the filter. I'll explain better in the video.
