  • i think thoroughbreds are very smart... i just got one, and i am impressed with his intelligence and he also ran on track for 3 yrs... i also put a hack on right away and he was easy to ride, never once ran off with me... i think with a snaffle he would hve, but i figured if he can changes states he can change bits to hack... i have also used a combination and works nicely... i hve learned they eat alot more, so it is taking a bit to put on weight for him

  • he must be one hell of a horse by now! Great horse and rider :)

  • you ride him very nicely :) for being his first ride since racing he looks like he was very good for you :)

  • THe horse is beautiful!!!!! Love to see this :) My OTTB was the same, got him 4 days after his last race rode him 2 days later, absolute dream But did not CAnter I must say, canter two rides after that, but now we have slowed down and gave him a long break and now working soley on trotting and started cantering again :)

  • @HorsesForeva95 he's a great horse! he has now competed at 105 cms and mostly clear rounds, hes a champ... and as an apprentice jockey i can appreciate how good of a horse he was!

  • Haha love the little pose at the end, he seems very pleased with himself! :)

  • HOLLY SHIT MR SANDGROPER

    HE WAS FUCKING AWSOME

I fully had pics of him racing on my walls

  • good luck with your new girlie! ottb's are the best!!!

  • Great horse!

Of course, he was lovely - because he had an excellent rider like you, Effie!

Someone like you may just jump on the back of a race-horse, not ridden for some time - and make him be a good boy immediately.

That is great riding which you show.

I agree: ex-race-horses are the best under very sensitive riders.

But don´t forget - thoroughbreds can be crazy if some girl rides him who does not really know how to ride a thoroughbred!

    Do you agree?

  • haha i agree with that, i was just lucky that charlie is so quiet :D but i have gotten on some horses and they've been crazy, so i guess it depends on the horse as well as the rider :)

  • Wow, $600000! He must have been a good racer!

    How tall is he?

  • yeah hes pretty well known in Western Australia, hes about 16hh

  • Still have a long way to go , but u will get there ( with hacking btw ) . Very cute horse , he will do well . Are u going to hack him

  • by hack i mean not a racehorse haha, just a loose term i use :P

but yeah he had been on spell for 2 months last time he was ridden it was in a race... i just jumped straight on and he was lovely :D

  • cool vide yal
