  • I HATE cybermen so much!

  • These old Cybermen was fantastic !!!!!!!!!!!

  • The voices of these Cybermen send EXTREME shivers down my spine. Very few episodes of Doctor Who give me the creeps.

This is one of them. The others are: The Empty Child / The Doctor Dances and New Earth (When I was younger)

  • @sipodge These Cybermen are billions of times more menacing and scary, than the Cybermen of the 80s and also more chilling when they speak.

  • @rojblake82 They are very menacing in Earthshock though, the cyberleader in that is sadistic.

  • The way they obsessively state "we will survive" is genuinely creepy.... Just listen to the audiobook "Spare Parts". If you want to evoke an emotional response in a Cyberman, just put into question their ability to overcome the destruction of Mondas

  • love how you can see the wires just before the cyberman throughs him

  • what i love is that the cybermen seem the same in the a philosophical sense here as they do in the new series... even though i think the voice in theses "models" seems so much more threatening and fearful

  • Look at the cyber controller 00:02, he's got a bit of a milky moustache.

  • Victoria was one of the worst ever companions and Deborah Watling was no actress - I prefer Zoe!

  • Why did Victoria scream??

  • @magicpianoplayer As a distraction so the other girl would look at the Cybermat

  • I love that moment where the Cyberman at the hatch is forced to choose between holding on to Victoria or try holding the hatch open and chooses the hatch! exactly the logical choice! Like Darkhyena said, more intellectually scary than new series. I would actually be reluctant to show these four episodes of Dr Who to modern 8-12 year olds for fear of giving them night mares!

  • Something tells me these Cybermen would really dig "Frampton Comes Alive"...

  • These are the most intellectual cybermen I've ever seen.

The original "10th Planet" cybermen were desperate, and appealing.

The 1980s cybermen were elitist snobs.

The 2000's cybermen are stupid brutes.

  • @darkhyena Well, until Pandorica Opens. Then they are creepy metallic zombies.

  • Comment removed

  • Just the thought of 'cyber-conversion', or as it's know in the current series, 'Upgrading', scares me...

  • @Glmclain The modern series continues the old Cybermen traditions.

    Wheeeeeeee!

  • As much as I love this story, I can't help but notice two glaring flubs in these 10 minutes alone...

  • The voices and the design were spot on. I love the little flap for the mouth, looks amazing

  • Cybermen voices were EPIC in this story! That would've been DAMN creepy compared to the recent ones.

  • @AlexanderT21: I couldn't agree more. Absolutely brilliant voice modulation in this story. Their voices were far more frightening here, if you ask me, than they are today.

  • @Dixonium I agree again! The voices are fantastic.

  • @AlexanderT21 apparently it was peter hawkins using a device made for people whos vocal chords didnt function properly which vibrated. he mouthed the words rather than speaking them. but it vibrated his head aswell and gave him headache and made him drool uncontrollably. still pretty cool voice.
