Armenians died because of disease hunger and exhaustion, even bad treatment. But it wasnt a genocide. At the same time not far from armenian border even 90000 soldiers of ottoman army freeze to death without firing a single bullet because of not wearing proper uniform. A dying empire couldnt even protect its own army from cold.
Talat Pasha, Enver Pasha and the rest of Young Turks were idiotic ultra nationalists. They were also the ones that pulled Turkey into WW1 on German side. But the report here is flawed. Turkey actually tried improving relations with Armenia and that backfired on Turkey as nobody appriciated the attempt (hypocracy) and this friendly stance towards Armenia damaged Turkish relations with Azerbeijan; which Turkey buys gas from. As long as Armenia occupies Azerbeijan Turkey shouldnt open its borders
