The actual price of something means nothing, its what it represents in terms of desire and demand that drive the price which is adjusted in terms for inflation.
So yes it may have been 275 bucks, but back then most "average guitars" would have sold for maybe $50 at the time. Not to mention Les Pauls havn't made a name for themslves yet.

@TheGutiargod if you know any older collectors lol .. My guitar teacher's dad is a maniac and collects guitars. I'm pretty certain he snagged one in '59. Lol
That's ridiculous. I'm sorry, it's a guitar. It's a fantastic guitar, but it's an instrument made to make music, not profits. At least rock stars use them to record or on the rare occasion, play out.
@skottmjfarkus yeah youre completely right, but the point is that there are few guitars like that and many people wanting it, so that increases the price. Only the elite has them all
wtf im confused...
1. WHERE DO U GET THIS GUITAR?!?!
2. ......why the fck is it 400,000?, like i know its an AMAZING GUITAR... but why 400,000?!?

Wish Gibson Les Pauls would cost 275 bucks nowadays
FelicianB 7 months ago
@FelicianB $275.00 in 1959 = $2,085.61 in 2011 and the old world craftsmanship that made guitars like this so great is dead and buried

@FelicianB
well it wouldnt be a Gibson Les Paul then.

There are people rich enough in this world to buy one and then smash it on the ground, while pissing on the Mona Lisa just to see what it feels like.
