You cannot put your finger on anything here... It's just sublime, gripping and can render one to tears. The lyrics are really quite sad, adds even more to the gripping music.
I think Rajaz is among Camel's best albums, and this is one of my three favorite Camel songs (the other two being od course Nimrodel/The Procession/White Rider and Lunar Sea). I would say that Andy had better solos on earlier albums, but the beautiful overall atmosphere compensates for that.
1 Of the best bands ever. But i have to say these new albums such as rajaz, nod and a wink and harbour of tears totally suck. I don't like them at all. Exept Sahara was good song and there's couple good songs in nod and a wink too.
I think like any Camel l.p, they take a few listens. The melodies are never simple, but they grow on you. Rajaz was especially troubling for me with all the harmonic minor melodies and strange percussive instruments.
I wonder if there are any more new releases from such a gifted band. Andy is such an unsung under-rated guitarist. he really deserves more recognition.
Thanks for being an intellectual and understanding the music of Camel. I've been a huge fan of J-Tull, Pink Floyd, ELP, Porcupine Tree and Camel for a very long time and I've hardly ever come across anybody being capable of interpreting the prog.rock music in the way that you have interpreted it.
cudowny utwór...działa na zmysły i porusza nieznane obszary w umyśle....

suprisingly no one has mentioned about the lyrics. check them closer and you will see nearly each word can be found in the titles of their songs.

Wow, I didn't note this before, even though I knew all of those songs and had already read the lyrics for this one.
Now this title makes sense for me.
