"Best and Marsh: The Perfect Match" that was a cult programme for us when we were at school, lots of people used to tape it cos it was on in the early hours.
Doyle reckoned Marshy was just a 'show pony' but Marshy was big, strong and wasn't afraid of getting stuck in (even without shin pads !).....he was also much more of a team player than people give him credit for....but most of all he was one of the most gifted British players of the last 60 years.........
There was a fantastic scrap on the "Match of the Seventies" video where Rod just wallops a Soton player that was constantly niggling his ankles. Rod was a genius.
L M F A O! do you think he wanted to play for fulham? he was there when he was 17 and was crap, he was at city for most of his career so shut the fuck up and dont say forget city, he's a city fan, and i agree with you garpod, banarbia and kinkladze we're very good, BUT dont say elano is good. we could eat our words, i like him. but he's not in there shoes YET:)
Marsh was a genius...the best player I've ever seen at City.........he doesn't get the credit he deserved for being a brilliant player...I think people forget just how good he was........th England team should ahve been built around him and it would have been if he'd been a Brazilian

There never will be anyone to step in Rodney's shoes.
Although Kinkladze was pretty good.
And Benarbia.
And Elano.

Agree wholeheartedly, it wasn't just Marshy's
dazzling skill, he had a fantastic personality and a charisma that is rare on the football field.
